Pros I am new to Donor Perfect and to fundraising in general, and the interface is both easy to use and helps me understand fundraising concepts, donor management, and document our stewardship efforts with ease. There is a clear application of all the concepts I am using, with an easy to understand interface, reporting structures, and bulk data management options. They operate separately and safesave also serves for profit so they aren't a good fit. At the same time, the knowledgebase serves as a reliable companion—well-organized and thorough—allowing me to explore features more deeply and build my own understanding at my own pace. It seems to be more 'mature' than other options. Customer service is really good - they are available when I need it and they are effective and efficient at answering my questions.! Pros It tracks contact info, gifts, pledges, volunteer hours all in one system. I like that it sends data to QuickBooks to reduce redundant entry. Cons Reporting functions could be easier to use. For example, when setting up selection filter, the statement needs to be all "ands" or all "ors". I tend to run a report and then export it to MS Excel to 'clean it up' so that it fully reflects what it should. Reporting takes a lot of practice before it gets easier to use. I love being able to create custom and calculated fields that provide us with exactly the data we need for reports. It's wonderful being able to use the screen designer to move information around on the main and gift screens. It has much more capacity for customization, plus the option to use SQL is very helpful vs other systems I have used. Cons The forms and landing pages have limited options, such as the inability to insert a google map into an event page. Pros It provides a place to capture donations and ticket sales for the Illinois Symphony Orchestra. It also allows us to create a variety of online forms for various events and/or donation opportunities. Cons I don't think pulling reports is the most intuitive process. There's a lot of features with the old online form system that makes it easy to secure results, contact information with clicks and you can easily see the confirmation emails. There's a lot of structure there that should be included in the online drag and drop forms. Also, it'd be great to see SMS added w/ the Constant Contact combined subscription. It’s a reliable, user-friendly CRM that handles day-to-day donor management well, especially for mid-sized organizations. While some of the advanced tools and reporting features take time to fully understand, the strong customer support and ongoing training resources make it easier to grow into the system over time. Pros DonorPerfect is an excellent choice for managing a mid to large donor base (4,000+ accounts). The user interface is simple and easy to navigate, making it quick to enter gifts and update donor data. One of the main advantages is their customer support. It’s arguably the best I’ve experienced with any CRM and far surpasses platforms like Altru and Raiser’s Edge. The pre-scheduled webinars are also a big benefit; they’re practical, easy to follow, and useful for staying up-to-date on new features and improving database efficiency. Cons Some of the more advanced features and integrations can be complex, particularly with add-ons like moves management, Constant Contact, DonorSearch, and video plugins. There’s certainly a learning curve. The reporting features are comprehensive, but this also makes them somewhat overwhelming and challenging to master. It is a cost effective product for our small development team and provides us with solid solutions for the reporting, mailing, and recording keeping needs we have. The customer service team goes above and beyond and always make sure issues are resloved in a timely manner. Pros Donor Perfect Online (DPO) is a great value for the cost. DPO serves our small to medium sized organization well. Its greatest assets are the simple to use reporting features and very friendly, prompt, customer service team. I've personally called their tech support often and every single time they've been able to help reslove my issue and never laughed at me when I was making a simple user error! :) Cons Our least favorite part of DPO is the way in which couples are handled in the system. If putting s couple on the same record, it is challening to identify which personal information (cell phone and email address for exmaple) goes with which person in the couple. There are work-arounds of course and we've been able to handle this with close attention to detail and consistiant recording keeping procedures. Cons Generating and updating letter templates is a bit more complicated than it needs to be. Also, you have to design your own fundraising website if you want more than just a form. I would highly recommend this platform to any non-profit organization looking to change their current CRM. Pros That you had built-in platforms, which make for ease of use and make it a one-stop shop. There are a ton of forms that you have created and thought of for accounting and event management. Your event platform is excellent as well. You have different ways to set up an event, which doesn't necessarily mean you have to include the auction piece. Cons there are a few things that could be improved on the constituent's information page, and there are some things that really aren't needed. I also was not happy with the chat support, as I am new to the system and was trying to set up an event for the first time, and I had to go through 3 chat support people before I got the right one that helped me the most and put me in the right direction. They are really informative and help explain everything so that it makes the program so easy to use. Cons There is not much I don't like about DonorPerfect. The only problem I have is if somebody tries to make a credit card payment on an online form and the credit card does not go through, it automatically generates a receipt #. This means there is a receipt # missing in the sequence. It's also scalable and offers lots of integrations, so you can do a great deal of customization. It's fairly easy to use, once it's set up, and there are a number of ways to get help or find solutions to problems. Cons Some features are a little clunky; for instance, the difference between Classic Forms and Drag-and-Drop ones is incredible, with Drag-and-Drop being much more attractive and easier to build, but it isn't an option for every type of gift. However, updates and improvements do seem to happen pretty regularly. Since you can customize every page, it allows you to track what is most important to you. This makes donor management and collaboration very easy. Cons I find the reporting can sometimes feel clunky. There is a lot to learn about the system because it does so many things. When pulling reports it is not always easy to understand what to request to get the data you want and need. For us, DonorPerfect isn’t just a tool; it’s an ally in mission-driven relationship-building. Also, DP is a tool that considers the value of money in terms of the time and security of our donors. On the other hand, they have a very efficient and attentive real-time support team; each question received a satisfactory and immediate response. Pros This past year, it helped us track donations across all stages, including those from our major annual gala and the follow-up checks that came in after. It’s an intuitive and secure platform that makes it easy for any team member, not just fundraisers, to navigate donor portfolios and preferences. We still have to pay for those things as line items though. It is a large cost for some of the simpler things we do, and rarely if at all acess the add on products. Pros The amount of features and abilities for reporting and data management, plus the integration with Constant Contact, is amazing. The support is great too. Cons It doesn't integrate well with other payment platforms, and the processing fees for credit cards is kind of high. Also we are fairly small, but we are trying to get more people as contacts, which also raises the cost. I really enjoy the chat feature to ask specific questions to the DonorPerfect support team. Similarly, the materials in the Learning Center are useful and thorough! Pros DonorPerfect is extremely comprehensive and has so many features! There really are few (if any) limits to the variety of options available, all depending on the objective of your organization. From pulling data insights, connecting with donors, sharing automatic updates and thank you letters, and more! I feel that I’ve barely scratched the surface on the full capabilities of DonorPerfect, but I’m excited to become more familiar with the system and cater our use of this system directly to the needs of our organization and the community we want to build with our donors. When the system feels confusing, I really enjoy the Learning Center and the chat features! Super helpful! Cons This is a con in a certain light, but is ultimately a necessary aspect of a major pro of DonorPerfect. Because there are soooo many capabilities and features, it can feel overwhelming and confusing at first. I think the developers do a good job of making the system interface as simple and easy-to-use as possible, but the complexity of the system definitely can feel challenging initially. Regardless, the “complexities” I’ve noted are necessary and genuinely appreciated given the endless possibilities within the system. Pros DonorPerfect is incredibly easy to customize for each organization's needs. Automated prompts are easily set up to flag donors who should be contacted, and a "contacts" tracking feature to track interactions and set reminders for future touch points. It makes moving prospects toward larger gifts strategic and meaningful. Cons It can be challenging to keep all staff entering information into DonorPerfect in the same way, which can make report running challenging. Because the CRM is so customizable, employees have the ability to create fields that they may use, but they are not used consistently by all employees. It has been an amazing tool to help me, as a new director, learn who the donors are and begin to reach out to them and build relationships. This has also been amazing for me to see who is engaged with us, and who I need to begin to work on better relationships with so that we can support them, and also gain future support from. Pros DonorPerfect is an easy way to keep track of donors. It helps to create mailing lists for e-blasts, as well as physical newsletters for future fundraising campaigns as well. Cons I am still learning how to use this platform, as I am 3 weeks into this position, however, the only issue I have with it is there is occasionally a lag with the human verification button at the log in screen (and that could be from my side).
