Pros Very easy to navigate, and whenever there’s an issue, your team is quick to help and work with me to figure it out. Cons The only thing I don’t like is that when we try to make a payment in the DP app, it creates a completely new profile for a donor who is already in our system. This ends up creating a duplicate profile, which is not convenient. When I had questions they were quickly answered at any point in the onboarding journey. As someone who likes to learn on my own, I had dozens of resources on hand. Pros I have a lot of experience with fundraising databases so in deciding to move to DP I knew what our organization needed for a successful fundraising program. With DP I can now manage very aspect of our fundraising program from major gifts, to grants, to events, to donor comms, I can track it all with ease. Plus I can confidently pull professional reports for my ED and board to show progress. Cons Nothing yet. Moving from the previous system my organization used, DP has been great. It's been less than a month, but so far, nothing to complain about. The webinars they offer with training make it super easy to learn and feel confident going into the program that you will always be able to understand use the program confidently. Pros The program is so intuitive and therefore user friendly! Entering data that can easily be searched for or reported on saves so much time and frustration. Cons The cost for the Visa and Mastercard transactions are higher than other platforms which was the only negative for us regarding this program. The only drawback is that the system has a fairly significant learning curve. Pros I really appreciate how easy it is to set up automated donor thank-you messages. The embedded reports are very helpful, and the chat support has been especially amazing—it has been one of the best parts of my experience. The webinars have also helped me learn a great deal. Cons Some features can be difficult to understand at first. Reporting and year-end tax letters, in particular, took a lot of time to learn. Connecting Donor Perfect to our Constant Contact account is extremely helpful for marketing and and fundraising campaign notices. Pros The Customer Support team is wonderful and easy to work with. On the occasion that I encounter an issue, I am able to get a hold of them quickly and they have always been good about solving the problem in a timely manner. Cons Some aspects of the platform are not entirely intuitive. I have had some trouble creating forms in the report builder especially. After several previous experiences with donor management solutions that did not meet our needs—and, in some cases, actually resulted in significant financial loss—we were looking for something that was dependable, straightforward, and easy to use. DonorPerfect has provided exactly that. The system makes donor data entry simple and organized, while giving us easy access to the reports and information we need to manage our donor relationships effectively. We are able to spend less time trying to figure out complicated software and more time focusing on our donors and the mission of our organization. We have also greatly appreciated the support and training DonorPerfect provides. When we have questions or need assistance, we know there are resources and people available to help us. For a nonprofit organization, having a donor management system that is reliable, understandable, and well-supported is extremely important. DonorPerfect has given us greater confidence in managing our donor information and has become a valuable tool for our ministry. Pros Donor Perfect has been a big win for us. Dornor Perfect: 1) protects our donor list, 2) is super easy to manage our list and our donors, 3) provides much training and support Cons At this point, we have not identified any significant drawbacks to using DonorPerfect. The platform has met our needs well and has been reliable, straightforward, and easy for our team to use. As with any software, there is always a learning curve when becoming familiar with all of the available features. However, DonorPerfect’s training resources and customer support have made that process manageable. Based on our experience so far, we have been very satisfied with the system and have not encountered any concerns that we would consider significant cons. There are many upgrades other softwares already do that they ignore. we have finally made the decision to leave. Pros Navigating the database is not too hard, but have requested upgrades for years that they ignore...... Cons the fact that get kicked out in the middle of entering a batch of donations, very often. I and others have made numerous requests to make downloading from online forms a better process with out having to use their drag and drop forms. I don't want to use drag n drop forms because I don't want these donations automatically downloading in to my database. The only thing good about D&D forms is the ease of building them and you can add other payment types. Seems classic forms could be better if you added other payment types and made the downloading a better process, other databases do that, but after years of having DP, you still won't make this change. I also don't like that reports and filters are separate. They should be together and would be a better process if they were. I've reached out a few times for assistance and the representatives have been so helpful. DP is pretty user friendly and self-explanatory. I'd say it's pretty straightforward but if there is something that I don't understand, the knowledge base and help articles are great resources. The free webinars and handbooks are also great. Cons I came from a Raiser's Edge background and DP isn't as robust as RE. It does have limitations and any upgrade is for a fee. The reports section isn't as user friendly as RE and isn't as customizable, but it does its job fine. Some features are great while other features - like donor forms and incorporating Apple Pay - are terribly disappointing. Pros DonorPerfect has been a pretty good solution for a smaller nonprofit. The customer support - chat feature - has been great and communication is prompt. It's worked pretty well for our team in terms of customizing filters for donor management. It's also fairly budget friendly and I feel like its a fair solution for cost vs. features. It's not a "heavy" system so the customer isn't paying for features that aren't being used. Cons I wish DonorPerfect would be quick-to-market with updated features. This includes Apple Pay and consistent design of donors forms. Apple Pay is such an easy feature for donors - why hasn't this been completed yet? Also, some forms are updated while others aren't. It's hard to have a cohesive look and feel on our website when the donor experience can be wildly different and cumbersome depending on what you want the donor to do. July 20, 2026 4.0 I have been exposed to several management platforms in my 7 years in the nonprofit world, and so far, DonorPerfect has been my favorite: easy to use, holds all the data I need and allows me to manipulate it in the ways that I need and has superior reporting capacity. Pros DonorPerfect is quite user-friendly. I was able to quickly make sense of the data presentation and get started right away. Anything I couldn't figure out on my own was remedied by their easily-accesible service team and training videos. Cons I was a little thrown off by the tabs in the Donor Profiles, but once I realized that all the data was there--folded into the tabs, I was able to find everything I needed. Unfortunately, after using this platform for a year, we feel it was probably better for our organization to stick with DonorView. We have good customer service with DonorPerfect, but something to consider is that we shouldn't need to reach out to customer service as often as we do. Pros We've experienced some good customer service with DonorPerfect, and the price for the package - especially with the inclusion of Constant Contact, is good. Cons Poor Quickbooks integration, downloaded reports not automatically in currency format, and end-of-year donation reports are not good. Our last platform was DonorView, and DonorPerfect has some great features, but then much of the products are cobbled together. This is not helpful. Whenever a report is needed, we have to chat with support to get the extremely long set of instructions to generate the report. Additional problems that we found were the different ways to set up receiving funds, either directly through DonorPerfect, or through GiveCloud. Functionality changes for the choice of one or the other. Finally, the icon labels for a donor are not helpful. Take for instance a donor who is a monthly giver, but gives by check. The monthly donor icon does not show up and we can't manually tell the platform to do so. Review Source VR Verified Reviewer Accounting Assistant Used the software for: Less than 1 year ### "I'm not sure about the hype " December 15, 2025 2.0 I work with nonprofit industry veterans (maybe combined experience of 50+ years) and none of them are DP experts. What I mean is that, none of their "let's do this" is easily accomplished on the DP platform. I am heavily involved in our end-of-year donations process and realizing that we're NOT using DP to track our outreach and donations received; but using DP as a redundant CRM that has to be updated manually. My secret 3-year plan is to move us out of DonorPerfect, because again, a free plan with Airtable could very easily replace our current procedure with DP. Pros It reminds me of the tech-solution optimism of the early aughts. It is "user-friendly" and offers a lot support. All of the compliments towards DonorPerfect (DP) are true. You can set up online donation forms to receive donations and DP has a native processing gateway to process that. Cons You can find a lot of out-of-the-box-plug-and-play database apps on the market today such as Notion, Airtable, etc. If you have any experience using those or learning about databases, nothing about DP makes sense. I just want to see "what is the latest donation?" "show me the last 5 donations" and I cannot get that answer immediately. It takes at least 8 clicks (Reports > Report Center > choose report > four clicks to set period > hit Run Report) and a little time drinking coffee before you can see the answer. DP is user-friendly in that, it has its own language and logic about where any information or feature is. A new user who's less tech literate will have to learn this, and yes there ARE resources, webinars, on-demand webinars, help articles, support chats, all available for you to fully master DonorPerfect. I am not sure how much of what you learn could be applied outside of DP. An impatient user familiar with databases will throw up their hands immediately just like I did. Review Source John L. The system is easy to use and get started in less than a month. I am a volunteer who set it up on my own with the help of my Onboarding Manager. The Donor Management module is very powerful and flexible. The Marketing capabilities through the Constant Contact email integration work great. We still need to set up our accounting integration, but we look forward to no longer having to enter transactions to our systems twice. Pros Robust donor management and ability to add custom fields. Tight integration with Constant Contact that allows for very polished emails and tracking back to the donor record. Simple data import process that I was able to do on my own. Very helping Onboarding Manager, who made the process seamless. Cons Event Management could be improved - while there are multiple options, the native DonorPerfect functionality is lacking and the functionality through Givecloud is a bit complex. Pros I'm a repeat DP customer and used the product over 13 years ago and presently have chosen them again. It is user friendly, intuitive, has all the bells and whistles compared to the top of the line software on the market (which I was using for the last 8 years), and for a much more affordable price tag. Cons The only thing I can say is that 13 years ago, it was not as advanced as it is now. Excited to see all the new features once we launch in August! They operate separately and safesave also serves for profit so they aren't a good fit. It is a cost effective product for our small development team and provides us with solid solutions for the reporting, mailing, and recording keeping needs we have. The customer service team goes above and beyond and always make sure issues are resloved in a timely manner. Pros Donor Perfect Online (DPO) is a great value for the cost. DPO serves our small to medium sized organization well. Its greatest assets are the simple to use reporting features and very friendly, prompt, customer service team. I've personally called their tech support often and every single time they've been able to help reslove my issue and never laughed at me when I was making a simple user error! :) Cons Our least favorite part of DPO is the way in which couples are handled in the system. If putting s couple on the same record, it is challening to identify which personal information (cell phone and email address for exmaple) goes with which person in the couple. There are work-arounds of course and we've been able to handle this with close attention to detail and consistiant recording keeping procedures. " April 10, 2026 5.0 My experience so far has been excellent. The training resources and the in-person trainings have been incredibly helpful and the professionalism from the staff is refreshing. Pros Customer Service from the very beginning has been so good. The knowldege of the DP staff and their ability to accommodate our organizations needs has made the on boarding process smooth and pleasant. I also love the user friendliness and the knowledge center to help me take full advantage of all the system can do to help make our fundraising efforts more seamless. Cons I think the least liked part is that the migration process has taken a lot of time but the staff has made it worthwhile so not so bad. I am both looking forward to getting access to using the database and also kind of dreading the work i have to do to clean up our records and streamline. At least, DP is user friendly and has great customer service to help me as we ramp up.
