May 15, 2024 5.0 Pros DonorPerfect comes with a lot of integrations that seamlessly connect to each other. The payment processing gateway is reasonable and easy for our Accounting team to use. Non profit discounts apply when you purchase a year vs monthly. Cons It's hard to learn each feature and successfully implement a system. Training that was provided and mandatory was with instructors who were hard to follow and in a group setting that was not beneficial to the varying learning styles and paces. I have learned a lot from the support team and from webinars. Utilizing some of the features of DonorPerfect we hadn't been using before has allowed me to streamline aspects of our donor organization and saves considerable time. Pros My personal favorite thing about DonorPerfect is the wide range of customization that is available for data fields. Tied into that, reports are easy to run and can produce a lot of great data if you use your filters and export templates well. Support is very helpful whether on the phone or on chat. The free live webinars are also great and lead by very knowledgeable individuals. Cons It is a bit of a learning curve to get used to certain functions in DonorPerfect. There are a few features I would adapt or change, but I don't have any significant problems with the system. Review Source EL Erin L. The software is effective in managing the data we need managed. Customer service is helpful but sometimes the wait times are long. Pros I like that it's user friendly and easy to navigate. Customer service is also helpful when trying to problem solve an issue. Cons There are a some features that are restrictive and should be updated. For example, there's an option to automatically record a contact when an email is sent to a donor, but it records it as a receipt sent. You can manually record that the donation was acknowledged but there's no way to set the automatic contact to acknowledge. This is frustrating because the majority of emails sent are to acknowledge, not to send receipts. Building filters is also a bit complicated, but customer service is helpful in that area. Still, for the price, we are very satisfied with our investment in this product. Pros Our organization struggled for literally years to implement a much more expensive and complex product that was eventually abandoned before it ever went live. Once the decision was made to go with DonorPerfect, we went live within 2 weeks and have been using it as our donor system of record for a number of years now. Cons DonorPerfect has a lot of flexibility, almost too much unless you are willing to spend the time to identify and define those features, user-defined customizations, and ongoing processes for data integrity, donor management, and reporting. Many smaller organizations may not have the resources to do this, but the investment is well worth the results.I also wish that some of the add on (i.e. text to give, donation thermometer, etc.) could be more affordable to organizations like ours. A great system to implement for a nonprofit that is starting their fundraising program :) Pros DonorPerfect is a great CRM, especially for an organization that is newer to fundraising. We are currently building our fundraising program and DonorPerfect allows us to build donation forms, track gifts, and build donor profiles with ease. We use the events management tools for our fundraising events and it helps us track everything very seamlessly. If I ever have questions, I know I can reach out directly to their chat support and my question will be answered almost immediately. Cons The report center has been the most difficult for me to learn on my own. I am able to pull certain reports very easily (i.e., the ones that come already built in the system), but building out filters is something that needs training and takes time to learn. Thankfully, you can purchase training hours and work with an expert DP staffer who will walk you through the reports process. Review Source MT Miguel T. For example, if I work for a school and am looking at a School Parents record, it would be nice to have a tab that would easily show who their children are and in what grade they are in .... as Raiser's Edge's Relationship tab does. They walk you through every step of the way and often find workarounds if needed. Cons That this is not a household-based CRM and you can't have a separate record for each member of a household that rolls donations up. I didn't know this and have a separate record for each individual. When both are donors I needed to choose a Primary and secondary and merge them or else it creates duplicate mailings. Reason for choosing DonorPerfect it seems like it was more solid and had been around longest and had worked out all the kinks and had everything a one man shop DoD would need Review Source Krystyna H. We had hundreds of scam charges (which had never occurred before); they were eventually solved by DP but we had already moved our previous donation form and have stayed there. Pros The integration with our previous data was quick and easy. The features for donor profiles and donor management are abundant, and mostly without an extra paywall. Inputting and acknowledgement of payments is a simple daily task that I carry out quickly and without concern. Cons Though features are abundant, it can take some time and training to be able to utilize and understand them, so it's important to set up training or ask via the chat box, and then write down the process so you remember. Pros It's flexibility and comprehensiveness. We are able to use DonorPerfect not only for donor management, but also for volunteer management and grants management, which is really great as many donors are also volunteers, and many companies send volunteer teams as well as making a grant through their foundation. As the grants manager, I am able to track the entire grant cycle, get notifications about upcoming deadlines and store important documents for others to access easily from any location with internet access. Cons The system is not visually appealing and there are tasks that are not intuitive in operation. The setup time was quick but there were many unaddressed matters and the data had lots of missing/incorrect information. Also offers good integration with other products. Pros It is very comprehensive and always updating with improvements and new features. It offers multiple ways to customize the donor screens to fit your individual needs. Cons Customer service options. The only way to get email or phone support is to have a three-month contract for it. It is not cost-effective and very frustrating as the chat is often not available.
