They provide customer service and support that is quick and efficient and their pricing platforms are definitely among the best in the marketplace. They fully supported us when we made the transition and continue to provide excellent service. The donor software is robust and can be customized to the client's needs. Not only that, their software team continues to look at ways of implementing new ideas as clients come up with suggestions. They continually offer free training webinars to help keep the user up to date and their knowledge base platform is extensive. Cons Personally, any aspect of DonorPerfect that I have found difficult (or lacking), I have been able to have resolved by reaching out to client services or by researching on the knowledge base. It is really cost effective and extremely powerful. Pros I love how customizable Donor Perfect is. You can create any number of new processes or fields or screens if you need them. We just created a new Donor Portfolio Management tab and it's really great to be able to customize all the data for what we need. The reports are generally easy to pull as well. I also appreciate that they are always updating and improving things. It helps too to be able to mass import data and also to have integration with Constant Contact. Cons The add ons for Donor Perfect are not great. They are definitely improving on them, but the Online Donations page was archaic. The new version of Online Donations is better, but still has a lot of problems that we are working through. We use this program everyday at work for keeping track of donations and running monthly reports for our Board Members. Pros We use DonorPerfect for so many things. Keeping track of donation, our Trips and Tour, and we use it to help with our yearly Gala. Cons It has a lot of moving parts so it took awhile to learn the whole program. That being said Customer Service was there every step of the way to answer our questions. We take the education classes also. The video's they supply are easy to follow and understand. September 3, 2023 4.0 Pros I have only been an active user of DonorPerfect for about two years now, but it is software that my nonprofit organization ahs been using for several years. It is super easy to add forms to your Wix website to collect donations. Adding new donors and gifts is straightforward. My absolute favorite feature is Verify Address - so nice to have a manually entered address checked to make sure it is spelled accurately and exists as a postal address so mailings do not bounce back. Cons There is a bit of clunkiness in assigning codes to various areas such as mailing template set up, membership levels. These don't always align when doing imports because there are so many fields. I wish there was a way to automatically replicate a donation in the gifts for an easier way to enter a reoccurring donation on a new date without having to manually enter all of the information. August 21, 2023 5.0 Overall it's been amazing! We're really happy with it. Pros We were using a CRM in the past that was just too clunky and didn't make sense for how small of an organization we are. Plus, the customer service was TERRIBLE. We honestly switched to DonorPerfect because of the people first. From the sales calls, to onboarding, to help when we were in it, it's been amazing! So, we love the customer service first, software second. The software has been more intuitive and definitely fits our needs at this time. Cons One thing that could be improved is the search bar. It'd be nice if it auto-populated the matches or similar matches in the drop down so you could select them easier vs. having to type the exact name, click enter and then still click on the profile you want. I use DonorPerfect on a daily basis and generally really feel great about how it works given the needs of my organization. I'm able to stay on top of donations and easily create acknowledgement and tax letters as needed, and run all kinds of reports. Pros I love how dynamic the structure of DonorPerfect is, and how with a little training, it's relatively easy to move things around, create new fields, hide or delete unused ones, and really make the system custom-tailored to your/your organization's needs. Beyond that, DonorPerfect's chat support feature is fantastic and the people who staff it are wonderful. When I was getting to know DonorPerfect, I used the chat support feature multiple times a week and pretty much always had my questions answered and any issues resolved. Cons There are some issues which have become evident over time and have really negatively impacted my feelings about DonorPerfect. A meta-critique is that it seems like there just aren't enough software engineers and others on staff who can keep improving the system at the pace I wish it could be improved at. I have literally been told by customer support that they simply lack the resources and person-power to make all the updates they would like to make. On the more specific side, I really wish DonorPerfect had the infrastructure within their software to handle households composed of multiple constituents (who might generally want to be credited for gifts and addressed jointly, but also might have individual relationships to the organization that are distinct from each other and should be treated as such). Donor Perfect is very user friendly and intuitive. I appreciate that it was designed with nonprofit leaders in mind and isn't trying to be a one-size-fits-all CRM for every organization under the sun - both for-profit and nonprofit. I love the customer service and the many free webinars offered by DP. Cons I'm not crazy about how DonorPerfect handles grants, and I haven't figured out how to track gift I've asked for. In gifts all I can enter is how much we receive from a donor, but there's no place to indicate what we asked for. As we all know, those two things are often different. Being able to easily see that history would enable me to know whether a donor has ever been asked for a bigger gift. For example, if a donor has given $100 annually for 10 years, it would be helpful to see that each year we ask that person for $125, but they've never increased so maybe we should stop asking. We started from scratch and have built a donor database of over 1,000 in less than a month. Cons Very little other than standard field setup for Donor entry. The service we receive is outstanding. I strongly recommend getting phone support at least at the first year, until you have done all you normally do in a normal annual cycle at least once. Overall, I find we are treated better than the large vendor we worked with before, the program is way more flexible, and also very intutive. Pros With our previous vendor, it was very hard to taylor the use of the system to our specific needs. DonorPerfect is a dream to work with in that regard. We have been able to set up things as they work best for us, and were shown how to achieve some goals we had in use of system that had not ever been achieved with the previous vendor. Cons I find that chat support is clunky if you have to do a system deep dive involving compound filters or such. Some of the help section material is a bit vauge and I find theat search options not as easy to navigate as your search terms have to be pretty general. July 27, 2023 5.0 The amount of time that we save now having all of our data in one place is amazing, recording donations is quicker also. Donor Perfect has paid for itself, just with the time savings for our office staff. Pros We struggled for years to find a good way to track donations and maintain our contact database for our newsletter. This year, after much research and some very strong recommendations, we made the switch to Donor Perfect and could not be happier. Having all of our contact information for donors, newsletter list, church partners, business partners, volunteers, etc. all in one place has been fantastic. Cons There is definitely a learning curve when you start, we've been using it for 7 months and are still learning, but the on boarding and ongoing training are fantastic. Chief Philanthropy Officer Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "A good decent fundraising software" October 14, 2020 4.0 Overall, DonorPerfect is a perfectly acceptable fundraising CRM database. My agency used it for over 10 years but we have recently transitioned to a new database (and having all new problems there). When we were smaller and didn't require so much data management this was a wonderful database. But now that we have so many constituents, we track donors, volunteers, inkind donors, customers, memberships and soft credits all while having a very active direct mail calendar. It simply became too much for the system - we needed more automation, more accurate pulling (but now we are finding how much we miss their customizing), a more modernized system for social media platforms and the ability for donors to have their own login access. I'd recommend this software to many agencies. Overall - the support us hands down the best, the product is good and at the end of the day chances are if you don't like something you can change/customize it. Pros DonorPerfect has some good capabilities and is highly customizable. The software does a good job of tracking donors and volunteers and a decent job of tracking memberships. It has all of the money (gifts, memberships, in kind donations, soft credits, etc. in one screen that is helpful). It links accounts well. The SofterWare (payment processor) was fair, easy to use and do refunds, and was able to do minimal reporting. WebLinks (donation pages) are fairly customizable, there are certainly more updated looking forms out there but it was a very dependable and we were able to rename headers, and make forms for our unique needs. This is a VERY affordable product (our new one is double the cost) and you get unlimited constituents. The support is available, helpful, timely and great. The chat function was a lifesaver. If ever you were struggling with pulling a report, or how to customize something you could chat and they would tell you how to do it but they'd also just pull the report for you if you were in a time crunch. Their support was the hardest part to leave. Cons Our biggest con was reporting. We could run the same report (two different users) and not always get the same results. Each report was off by a few constituents. We left DonorPerfect because of this. When we did our data migration reports there were several constituents that were left off and we had to go back to our new system and manually put them in from DonorPerfect. It was the ultimate reminder that we had outgrown the database. We had DonorPerfect before it was cloud based and it was wonderful for our smaller database but as it grew in size that's when we started to struggle with reporting. Another struggle we had was as we got bigger we needed a more sophisticated stewardship platform for moves management. Bizarrely it didn't feel this was a focus for DonorPerfect, they tout having automatic processes but this wasn't entirely accurate. It was automatic, after you processed or did a few steps. It requires training, but it becomes a handy resource that helps you do your job once you understand it. Sometimes with only a couple of clicks and you will get all the information you need. It has also been vital when submitting reports for auditing and partial/annual reports. It makes my life easier at work. I wouldn't no like to imagine doing all of the work without it. I haven't found time to explore more, for instance, digging about the merchant the system uses for credit cards and debits, the fees per transaction, and if it can be used in different countries beyond the US. It also means that I am not using it at its full capacity. Pros DP is a system that provides a wide variety of functions and characteristics that will help any fundraiser or donor coordinator to complement their work. In addition, it is a helpful resource for any organization managing campaigns year per year and tracks and understands how well the organization is doing. In my work, managing different campaigns and using the correct filters to download reports are vital. I've found the default reports in the system very useful, especially those related to metrics (e.g. AFP). It also has provided me with the opportunity to create new ones according to our needs. We are a complex organization, and if I didn't have these tools at hand, I would have to spend many, many hours to complete a job. Cons Sometimes I find challenging to find information as I need to look for it with specific terms. Reason for choosing DonorPerfect I have received information about other systems since I started here four years ago. I have not found any additional features that would make me change of mind. I have what I need and more for delivering results. DP is constantly adapting and creating new features to help you do a better job. It provides constant training and webinars that are important when working on something new or learning a characteristic you haven't used before. Like the title says, DP is the best I've used. Whereas it does have some limitations, they are greatly overruled by the benefits. Pros I like the ease of use of the system and how there isn't a huge learning curve to learn new features. Additionally, if we ever are confused about how to implement something, we are always able to contact support and walk through a solution. In the event we aren't able to figure something out in that call, they're able to help us figure it out over time. Cons I wish there was an easier way to implement physical swiping of credit cards and the customization of forms for them. Creating a sort of store front. Pros I like the ease of use. It is very straightforward. I got minimal training on it because it is so logical. I did watch a few webinars to help me get more comfortable with it, but because DP is so user friendly, a lot of it was logical and really easy to figure out. Cons I don't like that you have to attach documentation after saving the gift. It feels like double the work. I have to save the gift, go to the main page, and then go back to attach. I do not understand why DP is set up this way. Also, I would love for there to be an option to copy some of the details of a previous donation, but I can see how that might get a little confusing/challenging. The functionality in the product is phenomenal. Haven't found a problem for which their team cannot find a work-around. (Not so with their competitors with whom I use at other nonprofits.) The integration with Quickbooks desktop allows the nonprofit to keep control of their financial data versus QB-online. As with any donor management software, the implementation of DP takes time. The more work you do upfront to understand your outcome requirements (donor details, reports, etc.) the better the system will work for you. With DP, the cool thing is that future 'customization' is possible without adding fees. If in the future you want to add fields for tracking, it can be done in seconds. Pros Love DonorPerfect's Technical Support Team. There have been times when I could not figure out how to make the revisions I needed and their customer services has always been available and helpful. Pros I’ve been using DonorPerfect two years after using another fundraising software program. The program is very easy to use, and if I need additional help, customer services is only a phone call away. It’s convenient to have the online forms available so you set them up and don’t have to worry about them and it’s easy for our donors to make one-time gifts, monthly gifts, sign-up for events and we even use them for our volunteer hours. Cons There are some features I would like to see added to DonorPerfect. We are able to request specific information be added to help with the ease of working in the program and hopefully, it doesn't take too long for our suggestions to be used. September 10, 2019 5.0 Overall, I highly recommend Donor Perfect. It's a great system if you want a robust CRM with fundraising capabilities. I thas a lot of the same functionality you would see in larger systems like Razor's Edge, but for a significantly more affordable price point. As someone who helped implement the system, uses it daily as an administrator and user, this is a great system. We have previously used Sage Fundraising 50 and Abila Elevate, so this is a huge step up for us without breaking the bank. Pros Donor Perfect has a lot of pros! It's a cloud-based platform so you can access it anywhere, even from your mobile device. There are a lot of add on features available, including ReadySetAuction and Constant Contact so that you can manage events and communications within one system. You have the ability to set up your own giving pages for various events, scholarships, or specific giving appeals (such as Giving Tuesday, Give Big Day, etc.) The reporting feature is extremely robust and can give you pretty much anything you want if you know how to ask for it. Another great feature is data import... if you have monthly payroll donors that may change one or two additions/drop-offs a month but need to regularly import large amounts of data with simply a check number and date change difference from the last import, you can do it all in less than 30 seconds after the initial document is set up. Overall, what I like most about this system is that it's affordable and offers all the bells and whistles that you get with the more expensive softwares, but for significantly less. Cons The system can be overwhelming for new users, especially if you don't have the paid support feature or the time to dig through their help pages. There are a lot of add on features, but they all come with a price. It can be pretty expensive for small nonprofits that only have a handful of employees or one or two people that are using the system. Reporting can be complicated and difficult even for experienced users. Events management is extremely difficult and complicated, and lacking a lot of features. Now with DP we are easily able to run the reports and be more proactive with those individuals. Pros I like that it is incredibly user friendly and easy to learn. It's incredibly helpful when volunteers are helping or new people come on board. I also love the ease of pulling reports. They have so many prebuilt reports to chose from by I can also quickly and easily create my own and even better I can edit it if I don't get it right the first time. I'm constantly learning new tricks and tools as I gain confidence with the system and as our needs change as an organization. We've had the system for a little over two years and last year I didn't know I could easily generate different data and charts for our Annual Report, learning that made life so much easier. I also have to rave about the support team because so often I feel like I am calling with a basic or dumb question but they are always nice, walk me through it and then send a follow up email with the instructions in case I forget. They are so kind and patient! Cons It's never that I don't like the system but more than I have to learn how to get it to do what I need. My brain thinks it should work one way but they have the system programmed to operate another. It's more just spending time in the system and learning all the different ways it works and can work for you. One thing that drives me out is when it logs me out. If I've been out of the program for a little bit I can understand, it's frustrating but I do understand. What I don't understand is when I'll literally be in the middle of entering a gift or something and it will log me out, forcing me to start over. Not the worst thing in the world but still vexing at times. I also wish that the Company Name & the individuals Last Name didn't pull from the same data point so it was a little easier to run mail lists but I've found workarounds in excel once the report is pulled.
