The staff has been super helpful and the transition of data from our old system to DP was seamless. Pros What we like most about DonorPerfect is how easy the software is to use. We also appreciate the wealth of support that is provided not only through customer service but the ongoing and most importantly free webinars that are offered. I am continually learning new ways to manage donors and gifts by signing up for free learning sessions. Cons Sometimes the screens are not designed in a way that allow us to capture the information that we want. But the good news is, every screen can be customized to meet your specific needs. Reason for choosing DonorPerfect We researched what other nonprofits in our community were using and received positive feedback about DonorPerfect. Pros The chat support is very helpful, which is important since the product is hard to use so help is integral. Cons The receipting functions are terrible - we have countless errors every year. This let us easily segment all specific sets that we need. Second, reporting on dashboard is very useful tool to monitor results. Cons Personally, I would like to have possibility to have our regional ZIP code list, like we have in DPW. Also, it would be nice to have some table that when we need some sets, we can join some tables with reports, or maintenance data little bit easier. Like small SQL editor. It helps us track important metrics to keep us on track toward our overall fundraising goals. With 65+ years of donor history, DonorPerfect has proved essential in keeping strong records of who has a relationship with our organization and what that relationship has looked like over the years. Pros DonorPerfect is the only tool we use to keep records of our donors and donations. The interface is fairly intuitive and user friendly, with some of the most helpful tools being the easiest to find. DonorPerfect is a powerful tool, which means training is required to understand how to best use some of its features. The biggest “problem” we’ve had with it so far is that it is capable of far more than we use it for. For donor data and management, tracking donations, and even tracking your cultivation efforts with donors, I can’t imagine any software that would be better. Customer support is excellent, whether through chat or on the phone, and we are always receiving invitations to webinars or free user guides to help us do better at fundraising. The pitch for how DonorPerfect can help you even more is there, but it is not the main point of these resources, and that feels good. Cons Running reports has been a challenge for my team, which is self-taught on that function of the software. Between search parameters and selection filters, it has taken us a long time to figure out how to get a report that reflects the parameters we want. In a way, this downside is also a testament to how powerful the software is, because it can run a report on a countless arrangement of parameters. From gift management, monthly pledges, security of our constituents information and overall reporting, DonorPerfect is the absolute go to recommendation I make to any of my NPO colleagues. Cons The initial set-up is time consuming when done yourself, but DonorPerfect does have a service to do that for you. In short, I'm a big fan. Pros The longer you use it, the more valuable it becomes. While it was an essential resource the first year we deployed it, after 6 years it provides an historical record that we can use in so many ways Cons I still find some of the online donation and ticket forms very clunky. And I wish DP could accommodate team-based peer-to-peer fundraising. Reason for choosing DonorPerfect It did everything I wanted it to do, and it merged well with Microsoft Word. I did not want to have some proprietary Word Processing program kicking out the donor letters. Additionally, sometimes there are so many features visible on the page that I get overwhelmed. You can see what donors like what fund and what donors give at specific times of year that are important to them. You can run reports of significant donors, fiscal reports, with very specific items. Each donor page has specific flags to further breakdown criteria for reporting. Pros This database is a powerful tool for a fundraiser. The program provides a screen shot of where all of your campaigns and donors are at each log in onto the main page. The use of reports is very versatile and user friendly. Hands down Donor Perfect technical support is the best customer support in the industry. Donor Perfect offers a wide array of topics to expand your knowledge and webinars to continue learning something new or perfect what is known. DonorPerfect provides flexibility to create new fields, types of profiles and categories for contact notes that help us to create useful reports for both financials and program statistics. The reporting function is easy to navigate and helpful to pull a statistics report in a pinch. Make DonorPerfect work for your organization's specific needs! Cons As DonorPerfect is catered primarily towards maintaining donor profiles, giving and contacts, it is not the perfect system for tracking volunteer service. The systems we have created work, but are time consuming. This is not necessarily a fault on the part of DonorPerfect- but it would be fantastic to have a DonorPerfect CRM type for non-profits tracking long term volunteer service for both donors and regular volunteers! Events management needs better integration and ease of use. It is time consuming to enter gifts through the EM screen. It is also difficult to export information through EM for the event. Pros It is very user friendly. Making changes and running reports is pretty easy. No coding required. Cons Sometimes filters are a bit difficult to set up correctly without assistance. The need to export to excel to manipulate it cumbersome it would be nice to have the ability to set up the templates with a certain look we need and sorted appropriately. The reporting makes it easier for me to share with the board our fundraising successes and even areas where we need to focus more efforts. Pros DonorPerfect provides for all your donor management needs, at a good a price. I have purchased this software for several of the organizations I have worked for and recommended it to many others I have consulted with over the years. It's easy to use and the company has always been open for client input to help better the product. Cons The only concern that I have ... and this is more about me than DonorPerfect .. is that I need to take more tutorials on running some of the more sophisticated reporting options. I can have 99% of my needs met with the standardized reports but every so often I need something a bit more custom. You have great tutorials, I just haven't found the time to go through them ... yet! I hate having to make it all in a very structured way. The drag and drop form is nice but not versatile. I do like where it’s going. I hope everything becomes as easy to navigate as that one small feature. Pros It’s nice that is it very customizable and the customer service is unmatched! Cons It’s is difficult to use and hard to navigate. I’m a millennial and pretty tech savvy. It’s a clunky system I’d say it’s like the Android of the industry. Sometimes full functionality bogs down the user. We need more short cuts and less coding. If you don’t know exactly what to look for or where to look for it you may never find it. April 2, 2019 5.0 Our organization is growing and we need reliable donor reporting and communications. Good software like DonorPerfect is a necessity. I look forward to using more features as our donor base expands. Pros I like the ease of use with DonorPerfect. It is a good value compared to other software. It is a good fit for the size of our organization. I haven't taken advantage of it yet, but I plan to use the connections they have with Constant Contact and Agile Ticketing. I think what I like best is the support. It is a must if you do a lot of reports and lists. I could not respond to the request I get without the friendly and helpful DonorPerfect phone support. Well worth the extra cost! Cons I would like DonorPerfect have a better search as I have to spell the name correctly in order for it to come up. It would be nice if the search brought up results that were close instead of exact. I tend to use phone support a lot for reports and lists. It's great how much you can customize it to your needs - codes in fields, reports, even everything you need to view on each page using Screen Designer. Cons With how customizable the software is, learning all the ins and outs can be daunting - but they offer a Knowledgebase, webinars, and their chat customer support is quick and helpful. We've had great success, even with keeping new people that join our organization trained on the software, which has been a major issue in the past. Pros The interface is very user friendly and therefore very easy to learn. One of the biggest pros for us is that you can add fields on the fly and they are included in reporting. Support is always incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Cons There is a bit of a learning curve with roll up reporting and a few minor issues here and there, such as with merging records for households. But overall no major complaints and this platform is definitely a step above other platforms on the market. March 1, 2021 5.0 Pros First and foremost the best thing about Donor Perfect is the support staff. They are top-notch, responsive, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile! It's fully customizable to it can work with pretty much any organization and you get the data you want and need. We are able to get almost any report we need. You can pick and chose which components you need so your not paying for extras that you never use. We use Online Forms so collecting data and credit card processing is so easy. It easily integrates to Quickbooks and Constant Contact (for all your email marketing needs). Cons Really the only downside to DP is the price tag. It is more expensive that many but it is well worth the price! I can find anyone out of our almost 6000 former and current members and know their relationship within seconds. Pros I most like the donation tracking aspects and ability to generate immediate receipts and thank yous for contributions. Cons I initially found some of the processes uploading templates confusing but the knowledge base was very helpful in sorting out the confusion and providing models to instruct the needed steps.
