If I can talk to someone, I get the information I need. The Support website is very unhelpful and confusing. This has been put together by a techy person to help nontechy people. Pros This software is great for maintaining a donor database. I like the solicitation report to keep track of revenue in various projects. The software is extremely powerful. Cons The database can do so much that it gets in the way of understanding the basics. I find this very hard to create a specialized report or create new mail merge templates. I have become accustomed to their prompt and thorough attention to our needs over the years and it's not something I've experience with other CRMs. Cons The "moves management" feature is not adaptable enough, therefore leaving us to track certain aspects of our donor's life with us outside of the system. It was exactly what we needed. I am an advanced user, so I think I found it easier to implement than others might find, but once you get your staff trained on, it is an extremely powerful constituent management tool. Tracking a large group of people can be difficult if you are relying on a couple of spreadsheets, an access database, and Constant Contact. With DPO, this all gets wrapped into one powerful, flexible, and customizable system. Pros Donor Perfect Online was a great solution to address some issues we were dealing with this time last year. Our base of donors has been growing for the past five years and the software we had been using was becoming more and more difficult to handle our needs. Here are some of the top selling points: \*Integration of Event management \*Integration with Quickbooks \*Totally customizable on many levels, including mail merge, tracking codes, and reports \*Integration with Constant Contact \*Web donation pages \*Credit card processing \*Smart Actions (automatic prompts by email, popups and the like to remember to make calls) \*Contact record keeping \*Grant management \*Powerful receipt-creation (including email w/PDFs) \*Knowledgebase/online community & forum \*Ipad app Cons Fairly steep learning curve. It's a powerful system, so learning the ins and outs of exporting lists and developing MS Word templates can be daunting (we posted some in the KB for others to use). Fortunately we have full support, so answers to questions are usually just a phone call away. Also, I could have used a bit more support as we were creating online templates for various web pages (Network for Good created one for us for $200). On the subject of NFG, we decided not to let our subscription lapse and completely switch over to DPO's weblink system because NFG just came out with a new system that recognizes the user platform and adjusts the layout (ie for smartphones and tablets). It would be nice to see a more robust platform, but we created some very useful pages for selling tickets to our events that will work great and save the cost of adding more pages over at NFG. Pros I like that all our donation processing, tracking and management is in one place Cons I wish it wasn't as complicated as it is. there are a lot of options. They are always really quick and give detailed instructions that anyone can understand and follow. Pros I find it very helpful being able to attach supporting documents to donations allowing us to properly review past donations when approaching donors for more in the future. Also being able to link donors together based on work, family, etc. Cons I do find the reporting difficult to use and customize; I have to reach out to the support team on a regular basis. For example, when I need a list of donors from 2018-2023, I don't want it to repeat donors. If always find it difficult to run the report without duplicating. Review Source DM Derrel M. At another organization, we tracked donations and donors through Excel Spreadsheets but this software made life much easier. Pros Recently discovered that I can mass import donations into the system and that has been a major game changer for me. Made it so easy to input all of the donations from a fundraising event and have it be more accurate. I love it! Donor Reports are also very useful. I love being able to customize the reports to fit my needs. Customer Service is great! The live chat feature was my best friend when learning some of the tricks to DP my boss never taught me when I was introduced to the software. Cons Unfortunately the online forms function was not viewed favorably by my coworkers and donors when I tried using it for a fundraiser event. I ended up purchasing another software specifically for that need. I also don't care for how tedius it is to merge donors if there are duplicates. Wish there was another way. Customization enables us to hear our data speak back to us in our own language based on our own needs, and the support we receive from DP is the gold-standard! Pros Not only does the "out of the box" version function intuitively with the core functions and best practices of fundraising and constituent engagement, but it is also easy to customize to our exact needs. Cons There is a learning curve with the relationship between filters and reports -- especially when complex filters are needed, but once this skill is mastered, the sky is the limit! Not only that, we've always found the help we needed from the team at DP when we run into a hurdle. Cons We seem to get a lot of duplicates in our system. Also I struggle with pulling reports for specific criteria. However support chat is usually able to help me quickly with this. I've used other donor software at other places I've worked, and DonorPerfect is really easy to use, provides a lot of useful info on the dashboards, and producing reports is easy. Pros I can track whatever I find helpful regarding each donor or each gift. Support is readily available and responsive. Event specific online giving forms are so helpful. It is so easy to run reports on almost anything that can be found in a donor file. Sometimes, if my report is not something that is in a DonorPerfect template, then I may have to call support. They are always very helpful. Cons One aspect of the software that makes it a little difficult to use are the phrasings that are used as descriptors. Sometimes they are not common phrases or mean one thing to the software designer but something different to the actual user. DonorPerfect does try to update these things, however, when brought to their attention by users. It helped me understand them better and communicate effectively with them, building a deeper relationship. It definitely helps in the capacity building which we need as I am the sole development person. Pros Contacts Management and email integration make it easy to cultivate and steward donors. Reporting and analytics help in planning for budgeting and understanding donor's giving capacity. The mobile app is very helpful in serving and recording donors' engagement even when I am on the go. Cons It would be great if social integration includes more social media platforms. Adding capability to add customization on existing report templates and dashboard would be great! Reason for choosing DonorPerfect It offers a lot of features that both our development and finance department need to make our work efficient and in capacity building as we have only one person in each department. It's difficult to use and expensive.
