Being thrown into the fire to lead our transition our online membership enrollment/auto recurring as well as other donor online gifts from Flipcause to DP, we have ZERO issues. Additionally, not having any chance to take training sessions, I have been figuring things out as needed. The system is pretty user friendly and when I have questions or trying to resolve.. the online chat has been working wonderfully. So happy that you have real live support folks - almost always they have been able to answer my questions or solve my issues. Great team. Cons The user sessions expire very quickly and is very Annoying! I and my colleague have to continually re log in. Online form - Limitations. Although we haven't had issues with our the DP Classic online forms, there is some nuances with them and what we preferred to include on them. Per our developer the limitations of DP wouldn't allow for them. Accounting integration in our Quickbooks. The UICC decided to purchase DonorPerfect as it was advised the DP could upload into QuickBooks. Unfortunately only at a consolidated gift level by GL not by donor level. So we have duplication of accounting efforts. It's a good value for the money. We're actually paying less for DP than we did for our last donor management product, and we have more capability. Pros Most of the system is easy to use, and the customer service is top-notch. We're working on our first fundraising event, and that is going fairly smoothly. Cons Generating and updating letter templates is a bit more complicated than it needs to be. Also, you have to design your own fundraising website if you want more than just a form. It seems to be more 'mature' than other options. Customer service is really good - they are available when I need it and they are effective and efficient at answering my questions.! Pros It tracks contact info, gifts, pledges, volunteer hours all in one system. I like that it sends data to QuickBooks to reduce redundant entry. Cons Reporting functions could be easier to use. For example, when setting up selection filter, the statement needs to be all "ands" or all "ors". I tend to run a report and then export it to MS Excel to 'clean it up' so that it fully reflects what it should. Reporting takes a lot of practice before it gets easier to use. Cons I would like more flexibility in the pre-programmed report templates. It would be helpful to see the address fields more manageable, for new way married people are addressed. A huge step forward from our previous system! It's taken significant time over the past year build out our system, but I'm seeing the time savings now. Having real-time reports at my fingertips is fantastic! Pros When I was researching solutions for our small nonprofit, I saw multiple reviews mention the outstanding customer support. They were right. Customer support has been kind, responsive, and helpful from day 1. I've brought many problems to them and together we've found solutions. I feel like they are a true partner with our nonprofit and am grateful for that! Cons Learning to work the filters has taken a lot of work and time, especially when creating email send groups. (And I have a ton of query building experience!) Constant Contact doesn't have an inclusion/exclusion format for its send groups, which is a pain. Straightforward reporting on sustainers has been challenging too. Pros What I like most about DonorPerfect is that it is a easy and friendly software that I learned quickly when I started 7 years ago and still love it! No big changes in the software for it to be a learning curve each time. Cons What I like least about DonorPerfect is that there is not an overlap in their lunch schedule if you need to reach out to them between 1:00 and 2:00. I love being able to create custom and calculated fields that provide us with exactly the data we need for reports. It's wonderful being able to use the screen designer to move information around on the main and gift screens. It has much more capacity for customization, plus the option to use SQL is very helpful vs other systems I have used. Cons The forms and landing pages have limited options, such as the inability to insert a google map into an event page. It is comprehensive and very customizable. They are constantly doing things to improve and upgrade the software. They also have many partners that provide additional services and completely integrate with DonorPerfect. Pros It is a very robust software. Since you can customize every page, it allows you to track what is most important to you. This makes donor management and collaboration very easy. Cons I find the reporting can sometimes feel clunky. There is a lot to learn about the system because it does so many things. When pulling reports it is not always easy to understand what to request to get the data you want and need. The donor management possibilities are great and we have work to do to use it at its full potential. Cons There is nothing that comes to mind. I would highly recommend this platform to any non-profit organization looking to change their current CRM. Pros That you had built-in platforms, which make for ease of use and make it a one-stop shop. There are a ton of forms that you have created and thought of for accounting and event management. Your event platform is excellent as well. You have different ways to set up an event, which doesn't necessarily mean you have to include the auction piece. Cons there are a few things that could be improved on the constituent's information page, and there are some things that really aren't needed. I also was not happy with the chat support, as I am new to the system and was trying to set up an event for the first time, and I had to go through 3 chat support people before I got the right one that helped me the most and put me in the right direction. Pros The ability to save time by making global edits + bulk updates/imports is very helpful for an organization who is cleaning up their database. Cons Running reports seems a bit "clunky" at times. Specifically, we would benefit greatly from the ability to create subfolders to better organize and store reports. Because we use DonorPerfect across a variety of program offerings, this additional organizational flexibility would make it much easier to manage our reports and improve overall efficiency. It's not amazing but it serves it's purpose and DonorPerfect does a nice job of continually trying to improve it. Pros It provides a place to capture donations and ticket sales for the Illinois Symphony Orchestra. It also allows us to create a variety of online forms for various events and/or donation opportunities. Cons I don't think pulling reports is the most intuitive process. There's a lot of features with the old online form system that makes it easy to secure results, contact information with clicks and you can easily see the confirmation emails. There's a lot of structure there that should be included in the online drag and drop forms. Also, it'd be great to see SMS added w/ the Constant Contact combined subscription. It's also scalable and offers lots of integrations, so you can do a great deal of customization. It's fairly easy to use, once it's set up, and there are a number of ways to get help or find solutions to problems. Cons Some features are a little clunky; for instance, the difference between Classic Forms and Drag-and-Drop ones is incredible, with Drag-and-Drop being much more attractive and easier to build, but it isn't an option for every type of gift. However, updates and improvements do seem to happen pretty regularly. November 17, 2025 5.0 I am still relatively new to this program. No one at the location had really used it to its full potential and no one was around to show me how to do it; however, the tutorials were amazing, and I was able to get started right away. We have made great strides in our use of Donor Perfect, and we will continue to explore other features that we have not utilized yet. Pros Donor Perfect is an amazing CRM with so many tools to help you in all facets of donor management. I have been using it for 3 years and I continue to learn easier and faster processes for our office. The great thing is they have online support and great tutorial videos to help you get the answers you need. Cons Not really many Cons about Donor Perfect. It is a pretty easy system. If I had to pick something it would be the transaction reporting. You have to open each one up to expand it for each day. But again, that is not that much work. Just a mouse click. The staff at Softerware have strong tenure and I have appreciated working with the same humans on support across roles and organizations. Pros I have used DonorPerfect for years and it is one of my favorite platforms for leading and managing a fundraising team. Reporting is easy and intuitive, workflows are clear, customer support is best-in-class and integrates well with other tools. Cons My only real complaint is that DonorPerfect isn't the prettiest platform for staff and for donors. It could use a little bit of a facelift, but is great value for the cost. November 17, 2025 5.0 I really enjoy using DonorPerfect. There is so much that the program can do. I am constantly learning new tips and tricks to make the experience easier. I also really love the live webinars and toolkits that DonorPerfect provides. Pros DonorPerfect is so easy to use. I absolutely love all the training videos and articles! They are really informative and help explain everything so that it makes the program so easy to use. Cons There is not much I don't like about DonorPerfect. The only problem I have is if somebody tries to make a credit card payment on an online form and the credit card does not go through, it automatically generates a receipt #. This means there is a receipt # missing in the sequence. May 4, 2026 4.0 It looks at donors differently, and that was a bit of a learning curve, but it's very functional. I've found that I really have no reason to look at another system, it does what I need for less than the "cadillac" systems that are crazy expensive for almost the same functionality! Pros There are some really great processes on DonorPerfect. Donor thank you letters are an almost seamless process, either in batches or in the gift screen. The event planning piece is another that I feel like I could use even better. I think it has everything we need at a more affordable price than other data management systems! Cons I'd love a few tweaks, for instance the ability to date limit people's attributes (flags) and export some reports that don't currently export - having to hand type my events report was disappointing. Pros I am new to Donor Perfect and to fundraising in general, and the interface is both easy to use and helps me understand fundraising concepts, donor management, and document our stewardship efforts with ease. There is a clear application of all the concepts I am using, with an easy to understand interface, reporting structures, and bulk data management options. Maintains a great amount of information in a very clean way. Cons I wish they had more diverse landing pages. I particularly like the flexible reporting options which allow us to customize which fields we need. Most recently, the reevaluation of the Duplicate Removal process was well thought out. Cons There are a few personalized search fields that I wish could be part of the "quick search". I had issues with the previous duplicate removal process, I am glad it has reverted back. October 13, 2025 4.0 Overall, DonorPerfect is a very powerful database system for donor management. It is still growing a lot in terms of being used as CRM or, at least, as an intuitive CRM. Pros We are always sure our data is secure with DonorPerfect. With affordable options and great customer support, DonorPerfect is hard to beat. The fact we can have multiple users and assign tasks to them is always great. Having donors laid out in a way we can see how long have they given and how many gifts is extremely useful. Cons The Contacts menu could be a bit more intuitive and be linked to iCal or Google Calendar features to make it easier to get notifications. Forms are a bit outdated and could use refining. The email builder could also use work, since we don't realize formatting is incorrect until we are sending receipts, for example. It's easy to send thank you letters/tax receipts to donors, to sell tickets to events, and to send out newsletters. Cons The onboarding process needs work. We were given a form to fill out without any explanation other than being told to watch a video, which was only 50% helpful. All of our attempts to ask questions about the form and our data were brushed aside. We were told we'd have to use our training hours for to get those questions answered. As a result, our data was not uploaded correctly. However, customer service afterwards has been very helpful at addressing the onboarding issues and trying to fix what was wrong. The system is not as intuitive as I would have liked. There are so many different applications as opposed to it being integrated within the system itself; however, it gets the job done and is 100% better than what we had before.
