When I had questions they were quickly answered at any point in the onboarding journey. As someone who likes to learn on my own, I had dozens of resources on hand. Pros I have a lot of experience with fundraising databases so in deciding to move to DP I knew what our organization needed for a successful fundraising program. With DP I can now manage very aspect of our fundraising program from major gifts, to grants, to events, to donor comms, I can track it all with ease. Plus I can confidently pull professional reports for my ED and board to show progress. Cons Nothing yet. Moving from the previous system my organization used, DP has been great. It's been less than a month, but so far, nothing to complain about. Cons The cost for the Visa and Mastercard transactions are higher than other platforms which was the only negative for us regarding this program. There are many upgrades other softwares already do that they ignore. we have finally made the decision to leave. Pros Navigating the database is not too hard, but have requested upgrades for years that they ignore...... Cons the fact that get kicked out in the middle of entering a batch of donations, very often. I and others have made numerous requests to make downloading from online forms a better process with out having to use their drag and drop forms. I don't want to use drag n drop forms because I don't want these donations automatically downloading in to my database. The only thing good about D&D forms is the ease of building them and you can add other payment types. Seems classic forms could be better if you added other payment types and made the downloading a better process, other databases do that, but after years of having DP, you still won't make this change. I also don't like that reports and filters are separate. They should be together and would be a better process if they were. We thought DP would be better, for somethings it was, but there were other things that Salsa had right that DP didn't want to do. Connecting Donor Perfect to our Constant Contact account is extremely helpful for marketing and and fundraising campaign notices. Pros The Customer Support team is wonderful and easy to work with. On the occasion that I encounter an issue, I am able to get a hold of them quickly and they have always been good about solving the problem in a timely manner. Cons Some aspects of the platform are not entirely intuitive. I have had some trouble creating forms in the report builder especially. I've reached out a few times for assistance and the representatives have been so helpful. DP is pretty user friendly and self-explanatory. I'd say it's pretty straightforward but if there is something that I don't understand, the knowledge base and help articles are great resources. The free webinars and handbooks are also great. Cons I came from a Raiser's Edge background and DP isn't as robust as RE. It does have limitations and any upgrade is for a fee. The reports section isn't as user friendly as RE and isn't as customizable, but it does its job fine. Some features are great while other features - like donor forms and incorporating Apple Pay - are terribly disappointing. Pros DonorPerfect has been a pretty good solution for a smaller nonprofit. The customer support - chat feature - has been great and communication is prompt. It's worked pretty well for our team in terms of customizing filters for donor management. It's also fairly budget friendly and I feel like its a fair solution for cost vs. features. It's not a "heavy" system so the customer isn't paying for features that aren't being used. Cons I wish DonorPerfect would be quick-to-market with updated features. This includes Apple Pay and consistent design of donors forms. Apple Pay is such an easy feature for donors - why hasn't this been completed yet? Also, some forms are updated while others aren't. It's hard to have a cohesive look and feel on our website when the donor experience can be wildly different and cumbersome depending on what you want the donor to do. Value: You get a lot of core functionality and customization tiers for a fraction of the cost of enterprise systems. Cons Reporting: Some of the reporting features lack flexibility, making it hard to pull specific data columns into a single report.
