It basically runs my practice, all aspects except for SOAP Notes, but with the new upgrade I will be doing that as well.

Pros

Very easy to utilize reports of all types, aged accounts receivable, birthday lasts, appointment reminders, simple to apply payments and print or process electronic claims.

Cons

Some of the reports and itemized bills are not as customizable as could be. Only patient complaint is the patient receipt as for some patients it does not have enough detail.

### "Growing my practice was a breeze with ECLIPSE"

In 1985, after carefully reviewing all the practice management software available for chiropractic & medical professionals, I was unable to find anything that provided report functions I felt I needed for my rapidly growing practice. ECLIPSE provided a solution, first for billing, then for appointment scheduling, that could handle our volume on the limited hardware of the 1980's. By the 1990's, SOAP was integrated. Each & every time insurers made us jump through new hoops to get paid - such as filling out myriad new forms to pre-certify visits. ECLIPSE provided new solutions to minimize paperwork and maximize time savings. In fact, custom form creation was one of my favorite features of the last decade and allowed me to integrate custom BC/BS forms (without any programmers) so we could print them in seconds instead of filling them out by hand in 20 minutes. In addition to the tremendous time savings, the forms were now much more accurate and helped us cut down on payment problems resulting from simple typos! And since many of my staff members were terrified of computers, it's a testament to its ease of use that they've managed so well. Of course, the electronic billing alone probably saved me from having to hire additional staff. Now, the latest SOAP technology seems to make it even easier to record accurate notes. During my 25+ years in practice, I've performed IME's and reviewed documentation for payers. This has provided an opportunity to review S.O.A.P. from a variety of our colleagues. Documentation differs drastically from one physician to another. We use different techniques, went to different schools, attended different seminars and have been taught a variety of viewpoints. ECLIPSE allows for customization - especially in those areas where chiropractors may differ extensively from one another. Auditors seem to love it. And it's fast.

ECLIPSE has kept our overhead really, really low as the practice has grown.

Pros

I spend most of my time handling back-office operations including billing, payment posting, etc. I love the automatic payments posting (when it's an option from that payer). The billing, receivables reporting & follow-up features allow me to handle almost everything for our chiropractic/physical therapy practice in < 2 days/week. And we've made all sorts of custom forms over the years to handle all that insurers keep putting in our way & populate & print the forms with the push of a button. This feature alone has saved me lots of time!

The EHR encounter is awesome!! so easy to use and it saves tons of time. It is extremely adaptable to anything we have ever needed. My new associate was using chirotouch and she likes Eclipse so much more

I love the software . The billing portion is average , but I have used for 10+ years with no problems . It is getting better ever day now that \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] are in complete control again

### "Ease of Eclipse Software"

Pros

Eclipse is very customizable to our clinic's specific needs. The advisor that we have worked with for the past 27 years has helped us make any changes or modifications that we needed to make easy. She made sure that everyone in the clinic was comfortable with the changes before she left. She has been wonderful to work with as we transitioned to EHR and came out to our clinic and met with us on several occasions to make sure our transition went as seamlessly as possible.

Cons

There are frequent updates that have to be done before/after hours.

We’re actually proud of the fact that we’re constantly updating ECLIPSE, but there’s certainly no requirement that you download updates as often as we make them available. Unless you have a specific & immediate need for a change or addition, checking for internet based updates weekly, monthly or less often is up to you. I’d suggest you consider monthly updates as a reasonable compromise to ensure you’re “up-to-date.”

### "Eclipse User for 12 years"

We began using Eclipse practice management software for electronic billing in 2005. We are still using it now in 2017 and it works yearly flawlessly. Every time I have a problem or a question I am able to call and have assistance that is both conscientious and professional. We do not use the electronic health records components of Eclipse so I cannot speak to the efficacy or efficiency of use in that arena.

Pros

It works consistently and we have never had a database problem.

Cons

I wish there were more flexibility in report writing.

I highly recommend Eclipse billing software it has made me a lot of money over the years .

Pros

I have been using Eclipse for about 15 years I do my own billing it's easy enough for me to do my own billing and not need a billing company. If I have a run into a problem technical support is always there to assist me to manage through any difficulties. Also Eclipse has always kept me up-to-date with any changes in the healthcare field with No fault Worker's Comp. or major medical.

Cons

There aren't any real cons to a club software again I've always felt it was user-friendly easy to navigate .

I have been using eclipse for 22 years and using the EHR for about 10 years. I like that I can customize my template for the use in my office and to the type of testing and technology we use.

Cons

I think its time consuming getting it set up the way you want it but with \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] help it made it a cinch. I wish we would have talked to him 10 years ago!

They have a lot of updates to the software.

Cons

The customer service. My office staff doesn't like having to call for help. Any time we have to call and ask questions, we feel like we are talked down to. If we knew the product inside and out, we wouldn't need to call. But it feels like they expect us to know it before we call.

We are sorry to hear that Dr. Black has had an unsatisfactory experience with our HELP Desk. As a chiropractor with a busy multi-disciplinary practice, I consider the support we provide to be a critical factor in our three decade success story and take any reported problems very seriously. Every phone call to our HELP Desk is digitally recorded and randomly listened to by supervisory personnel. And contact notes are maintained for all clients. HELP Desk staff receive rigorous training which includes phone etiquette. Dr. Black and his staff have been clients since 1997, have an extensive call history, and have interacted with at least a dozen different support technicians over the past few years as we provided help on a wide variety of issues. On 8/9/2013, during a courtesy call from us, Dr. Black indicated he “loved the program” but alluded to a similar issue with our HELP Desk. At that time we reviewed recent calls – including two in 2011 & 2012 where Dr. Black’s employees had hung up on HELP Desk staff (an unusual event) – and were unable to determine where we’d failed. This happened again just a month later when Julie was unhappy with a technician’s answer to her question about form alignment. We reached out to Julie to discuss her frustration and believe we’ve impressed upon her that she should simply ask to speak to a supervisor in the event she has any issues in the future.

Pros

Cost and reliability. I am a solo practitioner who work part time. All I need is a simple and reliable software that does scheduling, billing, and EHR, which doesn't cost too much. I also like the fact that Eclipse has been around for years, so that I can expect a stable relationship for the future. I am hoping this is the last time I have to custom to a chiropractic software.

Cons

So far, the available of communication method between my staff and me (while I am in a treatment with a patient) is my least favorite. I would not know if my staff send me any message unless I keep the "Office Chat" window open at all times or keep my computer's sound on, so I can hear a sound when I receive a new message, which I don't want.

Thanks for your review. The Office Chat feature actually displays a transparent pop-up alert window for 3 seconds (similar to Microsoft Outlook) when you receive a new message. The incoming message is also displayed on the status bar at the base of your screen in blinking red text until it’s dismissed by your actions. All of this happens regardless of whether the Office Chat is the topmost window to help ensure you don’t miss a message. The “beep” is configurable, is OFF by default, and you can change it at any time. If this doesn’t seem to be operating properly on your network, please call our Help Desk.

I highly recommend Eclipse!

Pros

We have had Eclipse since 1993. Great product, great support, always up to date, easy to use. I highly recommend Eclipse. It has made running the office easier, more efficient, and cost effective. The software is not difficult to lean. Support is very helpful. Since 1993 ,We have only had to call a handful of times for support. Always had any question or issue fixed within minutes. Doesn't get any better than that!

Cons

There are no cons. I have only positive things to say about Eclipse!!! One of the best investments

Easy to use Layout is easy to read. I love the fact you can color coordinate the appointment types. Text reminder options.

Cons

It is not integrated. We have to use another program for billing and notes. Entering EOB's takes a lot of time, and with other systems, it will automatically enter them in.

We admit we’re quite puzzled by your review. But we’ve been unable to locate you in our client database in order to reach out to your office. Billions (not millions) of dollars in claims are processed through ECLIPSE annually. And ECLIPSE has directly imported remittance files -- currently in HIPAA mandated ANSI 835 format -- for decades. Finally, thousands of providers use the ECLIPSE Encounter for their clinical documentation. We’re not sure whether you’ve confused us with another system, but we suggest you call the Help Desk or review the wide variety of videos available to you via your ECLIPSE menu. All of these items are thoroughly integrated. Thus, you can, for example, simultaneously generate bills & relevant documentation to your printers and/or one or more electronic formats.

Pros

HD was more than able to just help us get our data back, he very patiently waited and walked me through all the steps needed to correct our problem. He is the one we always try to talk with, he is very patient and does not make you feel computer illiterate when you have a problem. On this same day I had talked with another person who had told me there was nothing they could do and I would have to contact Carbonite to retrieve our lost information. When I called Carbonite they told me they had to have specific file numbers. I then called Galactek again and asked for HD who was able to solve my problem and even called me back while the information was downloading to see if everything was going okay. I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking for software with good customer service skills!

Cons

Occasionally you have wait time on the phone due to high call volume and have to leave a message.

We just moved to the cloud with DataHealth and Eclipse support has worked directly with them to get us up and running. Server based set up worked flawlessly but we've added locations and the networking became more complex.

Pros

Updates work without bugs and always improve the program function. Support is top shelf, friendly and immediate. One of the most recent updates actually included changes we requested! Very efficient user interface with logical build. Quick, excellent notes with very good customization options that are easy to do.

Cons

I have no complaints at all.

Eclipse software was OK. Being a small Chiropractic office, there were many parts of the software that we didn't need to use. This software would be best for a multi-disciplinary practice with many practitioners and staff. It was somewhat difficult getting customer service to help us when problems would arise. There were always updates needed and ongoing training. Overall just OK, but maybe too much for a small physicians office with under 5 staff members. Best for larger practice or clinic.

Very in-depth tabs, documents, resources, etc

The office you worked in until recently has used ECLIPSE since 1999. And though ECLIPSE is used by offices with 150+ employees, it's also used by thousands of offices with 1 or 2. As far as we can determine, 92% of your calls within the past 6 months were picked up live, and any issues were resolved. You also reviewed ECLIPSE on Software Advice in September 2015, noting "The customer service is great. They can usually get our questions and problems answered as soon as we call. And even if they don't know the answer, they call us back within 24 hrs with a solution." We'd love to know what changed your perspective. And yes, ECLIPSE is updated on a very regular basis as it incorporates new standards and user requests.

Your ECLIPSE subscription lapsed about 18 months ago (so your updates aren’t current), but I hope you’ll take the time to call the Help Desk. Your 6 provider multi-disciplinary facility has been using ECLIPSE since 2006. The issue you describe about a feature added in 2013 has always been configurable & instructions in your README detail how to change it. We also reviewed your call history, including dozens of calls made since 2012 -- many of which related to your network -- and found absolutely no issues that weren’t easily resolved in a timely manner (such as questions about the ICD-9 to ICD-10 transition & new CMS forms). We wish you had taken the time to communicate with us about the issue you describe in your review.

There is a little trouble we've had marrying eclipse for our second user on our back office computer. It keeps only being able to do limited training functions.

Your 2nd computer was never properly linked with your main copy of ECLIPSE. Of course, we don't understand why you never called us about this problem. HD was and is very helpful. He walks you through the steps carefully so that you understand exactly what your doing!! I am rather knew to this clinic and have never had to call the customer service department, but all of the employees tell me to call and speak directly with HD. He is the most friendly and supportive customer service representative and I would strongly recommend anyone with questions to contact him.

### "Switch from Chirotouch"

Pros

Cost and ease of use. Scheduling capabilities better than Chirotouch. I switched to Eclipse primarily because of the ability to schedule in multiple columns for the same provider. Chirotouch does not offer that capability.

Cons

Learning curve for documentation macro. I have used Chirotouch macros for years and the documentation change was a little painful.
