Pros

The back office aspect of this software was excellent. My staff easily could generate reports for just about any parameter we wanted. It was easy to switch between cases in patient files (from cash to different insurances, etc.) and this made tracking things such as patient balances very easy.

Cons

It didn't integrate as well with emails, social media, patient reminders, etc., as other products.

We appreciate your review, but admit we’re somewhat puzzled. As of your May 2016 review, you haven’t updated ECLIPSE for the past 8 years! ECLIPSE has extensive capabilities to contact patients via their preferred method of text message, email or via the patient portal, as well as extensive integration with third party products that interact with patients directly via social media. ECLIPSE also has dedicated reminder capabilities which have been in widespread use for years. In fact, over 70 pages of documented README changes have been made to ECLIPSE since your last update.

Dr. Jessop, we’re sorry we weren’t able to meet your needs during the short time you used ECLIPSE, which apparently ended over a year ago. It’s unfortunate that though you called us several times monthly with billing questions, you never called us for any help \[or to express your frustration\] with what you describe as the “EHR portion” -- which includes a variety of features such as extensive document management & SOAP. The Help Desk staff would have spent as much time as necessary to guide you as you transitioned from your paper SOAP system. You experienced significant staff turnover not too long after you purchased ECLIPSE. Your original \[independent\] trainer provided an additional hour of training free of charge followed by 2 hours for $100 ($50/hour). We’re sorry you viewed that as “pay out the nose for it.” Our Help Desk would have been equally available to help new staff with the essentials, and short online videos were \[and are\] available free of charge to get any new staff member started with basics such as patient entry.

### "Easy use"

I love the ease in use of the software. You can be super detailed, or very simple. I recommend this to any doctor who will listen to me. I have used several systems and this one makes the most sense. Though you have several options to do a specific task, each one makes sense and there is no redundancy in the entries. MORE reports from the data entered is my only request. Great product!!!

Pros

Everything can be done more than one way, keeps track of claims and payments wonderfully! All the reports are great. So much detail should be able to be accessed.

Cons

Not all fields do something, inconsistency in field entry-some clicking, some tabbing. Data entry would be even faster is you didn't have to stop and click one field vs. tabbing and typing.

They are always there to help when needed. They give my office every thing necessary to straighten it completely out. They all are so patient with all question. I am so lucky to have found Eclipse.

Pros

After the first visit the ease of imputing new visits really fast and accurate. Have been able to give all the information to medicare and insurance co no denials any more.

Cons

One click could us a little work to make it easier. It does take more work then originally told how much it needs to imput.

Cons

The documentation component is a bullet-point type SOAP note. My preference is narrative format, but that’s my old guy dictated notes mindset.

The tech support is always pleasant and helpful. I have found over my time with the software that you can get just about any kind of report out of it and see just where the practice is doing well and what you need to improve on. It has allowed us to see trends that have enabled good business decisions and collecting much easier on patient billing.

Pros

Eclipse enables us to gain insight into where the practice is doing well, what needs help and how to manage our details. The data entry is simple to handle, but detailed enough to be helpful, so we all communicate effectively. I've used Eclipse in 3 practices and for over 15 years and I love it!

Cons

Some of the fields of data entry require different methods to enter which sometimes hangs me up. Some fields are tabbing, some are clicking, consistency isn't always there.

Pros

The EMR is the best part of the program. It is easy to master and use. I also love the texting feature of the scheduling module.

Cons

The accounting side has some cumbersome aspects. There is a feature to put multiple patients in on a single check but it does not figure the deductible correctly unless you enter each patient individually.

We’re happy to hear you enjoy the SOAP/documentation aspects of ECLIPSE. The accounting feature you’re referring to for manual (?) EOB entry has been part of ECLIPSE for decades & determines responsibility the same way regardless of how patients are accessed. As far as we can determine after reviewing your calls, you haven’t reached out to our Help Desk for this issue. We do see that you use automatic remittance import. Please consider exploring those import settings with the Help Desk to better streamline ECLIPSE for your practice.

Pros

It is important to have a customer service that is available when you need it. Things always come up and when I have questions I need answers immediately and with eclipse there is great customer support.

Cons

I have found that the note taking option can has some room for improvement. Maybe it is that I have not taken the proper time to familiarize my self with this portion but I always get intimidated by this part of the software.

Pros

Staff are all great! Always have worked me out of jams like crashed computers and network issues. I have used Eclipse for a decade before I realized the encounter feature that I wasn't using which very nicely switched our office to EHR 100%. Often complimented on the great notes

Cons

Some features are hidden and require eclipse staff to help find but sometimes its nice that office staff can't accidentally change software setting

Pros

I have used Eclipse for over 20 years and find it to be very east to use and easy to train new employees on it. Very nice layout. Multi-case use makes for really easy tracking of our services and providers.

Cons

I wish the reports were a little more detailed . I would like to see a better services list with more allowances for pulling details from billing.

Pros

It is difficult to pick one or two features, as ECLIPSE has so many features we like best. However, after all is said and done, we like the fact that ECLIPSE has kept up with the changes in the industry, which has been instrumental in the growth of our practice. We started using ECLIPSE PMS back in 1995 when we had only two doctors in the practice. Now, with over 150 employees, 35 providers, two office locations, and one ambulatory surgery center, ECLIPSE has kept up with our growth, which has given us one less thing to worry about as we manage our medical group. Even today, I just received an e-mail of a new feature that is being implemented. Simply phenomenal!

Cons

We operate 24/7, so it would be nice to have 24/7 support. That being said, this has not really been an issue because we hardly call support.

### "Eclipse keeps you in the insurance game!"

Pros

We have used ECLIPSE for 11 years now on a recommendation of another chiro. They have kept up with the way we do insurance and keep up with all the new changes in the business. Their electronic health record is customizable and easy to use and can change to whatever you need. The cost of ECLIPSE software was 1/3rd of some of the competitors which is always a plus. I would recommend ECLIPSE to anyone, we love it.

If they could make a section where we could take a picture of a patient and attach it to their file.

Pros

Everything is straight forward and self explanatory. The help desk staff are very patient and helpful with explaining anything that is not understood clearly. The staff is quick with response to any technically problems that may occur with the program or even if it is our computer that had a glitch.

Cons

This product is overall great. I have not had any difficult issues with anything. I would like it to be more manageable with the updates. Updates are only done on the main computer which it would be nice to be able to update from one of the work stations.

We have been using this software for over four years without a major issue in billing and note taking. I especially like the customization features.

Pros

Ease of use and excellent customer service. Never a long wait. The customer service handles all of our questions/issues without a problem.

Cons

The initial setup process is time consuming. Although the software is intuitive it does take some time to 'fine tune' the process.

Our office has been using Eclipse Practice Management software for almost 10 years. In that time we have always been impressed with Eclipse's ability to keep up with new rules, regulations and requirements. They are always willing to listen to suggestions and ideas on improvements that we in the "field" may need. For those reasons we decided to stay with Eclipse at the beginning of 2011 knowing they were not yet EHR certified. We knew from past experience that Eclipse would be certified this year, that they would do it in a timely manner and that they would be open to user suggestions along the way. We were not disappointed. We have attested with the EHR incentive program using Eclipse Practice Management software. The initial process of getting required information entered is time-consuming, but Eclipse's quick data entry options speed the process up. Not only have we attested, we have passed the attestation which means for us the check is the in the mail. Eclipse was with us all through the process. They helped us figure out exactly how to enter information for it to "count" for the incentive. They were there when we found little hiccups in the system along the way and their development team always fixed them in a very timely manner. So, for those in doubt, doubt no more. We use Eclipse and we qualified for meaningful use. We were able to run reports for the clinical quality measures, we attested, we passed and now we are waiting for payment. We're glad that we stuck with Eclipse - they know what they are doing.

HD, was an AMAZING help. I have spent four days trying to get our system set up after our move and he was SO helpful!

Pros

I love Eclipse. I have been using this program for almost 20 years. I wouldn't want any other program to help run our office.

Cons

Night and weekend support hours. It is hard to run between our IT guy and Eclipse when they are on different schedules.

Pros

A no nonsense approach to practice management with a team of support that is top notch! AR management is one of the most important aspects to me in a practice management software and I have yet to see any other software handle it quite like Eclipse. From the reports, to tracking sales tax and inventory it is all in there. I am a reports kind of person, I like to know where money is and what I can expect to collect. The ability to set up individual "expected amount" fee schedules for our contract insurance companies is priceless. Scheduling clients/patients with ease.

Cons

As someone who has used this program for many years I really don't have any true "least likes" of the program.
