This program is easy to use, and works well (I'm not a tech-savvy person)I also like that their Tech support is easy to reach, I've never waited more than 5 min.to reach a tech.I can honestly say that the sales person (Ryan Weaver) continued to help, I and follow-up with me until I was able to fully transition to Eclipse.Ryan still checks in once in awhile!

Our office began using an electronic documentation software in 2008. At that time, we purchased the software and paid an annual fee for tech support. In 2011/2012, the developers just stopped offering support for the older documentation software and instead offered an "upgraded version" that we weren't interested in. After purchasing and returning a second software system, I contacted my husband's malpractice carrier. They suggested, among others, Eclipse. Although it is very user friendly, this is a far more sophisticated software than our previous system and quite a lot of training was required to get me up to speed on the many functions available on Eclipse. Shortly after agreeing to purchase this software, I was introduced to Sara Colby, my designated trainer and go to person. She has been amazing to work with. I have suspended my career in the legal field to help my husband to research and purchase the right software for his practice, and to implement the use of the software. I am admittedly an neophyte in the chiropractic field, but Sara never once made me feel like a newcomer. She has been incredibly patient with me and she is always available to respond to any questions or concerns we may have regarding the use of the software. I am a long way from being proficient with Eclipse, but with Sara's continued assistance, I am well on my way.

I used ECLIPSE 10 years ago, when I was a solo practitioner. I later joined a group practice for 6 years that did not have ECLIPSE. I watched them struggle much more than necessary in a multi-doctor office because they weren't using ECLIPSE. I will be opening my own office again in about 2 weeks. For the last 5 months I have been using another software program, trying to cut costs, since this software program was "free". It was free of cost, but also free of ease, free of functionality, and free of simplicity; it was very difficult to use and did not meet my needs. I contacted ECLIPSE again, and for a very reasonable cost, I was up and running within a week. I had forgotten how amazing ECLIPSE really is - single clicks to get to the patient information I needed. Incredible support and wonderful training. I am now working on EHR and am very confident that ECLIPSE will help me to get dollars back in my pocket when I show Meaningful Use. Everything has been win/win/win with ECLIPSE, I just can't say enough. I recommend this to all of my colleagues now and I am now a "Life-er" with ECLIPSE!

The software is easy to use and navigate. They charge fee for the customer sevice but it's worth it. This one needs an improvement on acupuncture templates. This didn't have enough templates.

Thank you for your review. I understand you’re new to ECLIPSE. Please be aware that templates are provided for chiropractic & physical therapy. Existing templates can be customized easily; new templates can just as easily be created from scratch. Custom ECLIPSE templates are currently used in a variety of specialties. If you take the time to call the Help Desk (you haven’t called about this issue), I’m sure they’ll be happy to help you with your customization needs.

Pros

The price of the software is very reasonable, and you can customize your notes to fit your needs (it takes some time, but it is worth it). I love that you have a real person that comes out and shows you how to use the software. From sales to install, they have been at our side. After the initial install and training, she gave me her cell number to call if I ever had any questions. When I do she always responds. She is friendly, warm, treats you with the utmost of respect and calms you down when the frustration of learning a new software starts to wear on you. I have switched from my other software to Eclipse because of her.

Cons

You have a help desk to call (which is very nice). However, a few times I had to leave a message that took a few hours for them to call back. I also felt rushed when on the phone with them and they are not quick to spend time with you figuring out the problem. I have gotten responses from them stating, "Well it doesn't do that for me on my end, you must be doing something wrong." I would hang up without an answer.

The program is geared for Chiropractors and it made it easy to integrate electronic health records.

Cons

Initial training did not cover the screens for new patients to cover the electronic health records screens. This caused us to have to go through all of the patients a second time to add the additional 10 screens of data.

Please be assured that GalacTek’s digital phone system automatically seeks out available HELP Desk techs and has no knowledge of your practice size. Regardless, though we see you waited just over 16 minutes on 4/22/2014 to reach a live technician, subsequent calls have all reached someone within 6 seconds of your connection. Our apologies, but call volume in April averaged over 1300 calls per day on subjects as diverse as ICD-10, new CMS forms and Meaningful Use (MU). Finally, data entry for MU is addressed on 2 screens – one of which is also used for the patient’s personal information. The second screen contains 5 tabs that require MU specific data which a chiropractic office can selectively ignore. However, most of that data is history/exam based (e.g. vitals). We apologize for any confusion that might have arisen from your training.

I spent 4 weeks on Training and wasn't prepared to implement for another 6 weeks after that. I felt that the implementation of totally new way of doing my front office has not come easy. I've used the software since May and I am just feeling comfortable with the basics now. I haven't even thought about using the EHR system yet. I think any system takes a while. I don't have anything to compare to at this point, but I feel this is hard to make the transition.

Pros

I own the product. There is good customer support. I can send my claims out hassle free electronically through my clearing house.

Sara, the representative who trained you, contacted you again after she was made aware of your review. Sara actually provided about 8 hours of training adjusted to your schedule and had also indicated she’d provide an additional hour at no charge when you were ready to begin “EHR” (SOAP) implementation. We appreciate that you don’t seem to have used a dedicated software package to run your office in the past & that it’s taking some time to make the adjustment.

Pros

Easy to learn and use. There was not a tremendous amount of time needed to learn how the system works.

Cons

It uses drop downs for everything in the EHR, and when you get to super bill, you have to manually type all codes in, there are no banks of codes with bubbles to click like there are with other systems I was used to.

Your comments about “superbills” and the necessity to manually type in codes leave us wondering whether you’ve confused ECLIPSE with another product. If not, we sincerely hope you’ll get in touch with our HELP Desk. We were also puzzled by your performance comments. As a 4 user system, your clinic size is smaller than our average, and certainly smaller than that of other reviewers on this site that range to the top of SA’s available size choices (101+ users). We can probably help you with this issue, as well.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced, all inclusive program......THIS is for you! Easy to use, complete, accurate and compliant. Great for both a new doctor just starting out, or an established practice looking to improve their overall bottom line and patient satisfaction.

Pros

Time saving, revenue increasing, easy-to-use product. SOAP notes are compliant. Billing is easy and accurate. Patients love checking in on the kiosk and getting appointment reminders on their phones. This software has already improved our patient satisfaction and retention.

Cons

The ledger took a little while to understand, but is much more accurate and complete (and easy) now that we received training. No other issues!

I like the ability to send out text message reminders and email reminders. You can do that all at one time. I also like that we can schedule multiple appointments for a patient through their chart. If there are any conflicts with the time, the program alerts you. It is great!

Cons

I dislike how many clicks and keystrokes that it takes to send out billing.

Thank you so much for your review. I simply wanted to point out that you can actually start a group billing run by selecting “Unbilled Charges” from the menu & pressing the “Start” button. That’s it! Perhaps you’re taking advantage of one or more of the myriad options available for billing? And ECLIPSE automates so many steps with your selections…. such as automatically & simultaneously separating paper & electronic claims along with clinical documentation. It’s equally easy (individually) from a patient’s ledger: generate a new bill or copy of an existing bill with as few as three mouse clicks. Finally, ECLIPSE has a “Claim Authorization Check” report on your Reports menu which can be completely customized based on profiles that allow you to set multiple criteria for different groups of patients. So, the scenario you describe is actually quite easy to do!

Pros

Actual work that the system does for you, and it is quick and efficient. I am absolutely using my computer less, and working on my patient's pain conditions more. I also have had excellent customer service from this company (Galactec) and several affiliates we use for training and as our clearinghouse. Within 3 months, I felt we had a very good grasp of Eclipse's capability. We are still learning how to use this software more efficiently every day. There is a lot of options depending on how you want to run your practice.

Cons

I was skeptical about back-ups, but they are easy and second nature now. It did take a while to get the system set up the way we wanted to use it...but this would have been the case with any other software also. I was also concerned about tracking claims and payments between Eclipse and Infinedi, but ever since we bought this software they have made a more seamless connection between the two products. All the things I was concerned about, customer service and support helped me through.

I love the fact that so many features are customizable for each individual office, that Eclipse is very user-friendly and provides excellent customer service/technical support. As a billing company, it's imperative to our success that we use a billing software that is reliable, accurate and is always current with industry changes. We certainly appreciate your praise for our HELP Desk. However, your comment: “The ledger sometimes does not calculate percentages correctly” is misleading – since that’s not actually what you experienced. When Andrea called for help on 7/31/2014, she discussed entering services before adding insurance info for the patient. ECLIPSE can’t calculate how much a patient owes until you’ve entered some basic insurance information. Of course, you can update responsibility in seconds during or after service entry. And ECLIPSE will automatically re-calculate percentages as you manipulate other fields (e.g. Units) during the edit process once you’ve updated insurance information. We’re also somewhat puzzled by your inventory comments. Though ECLIPSE does not contain robust inventory capabilities, it \*has\* been handling inventory & inventory reporting for decades -- including sales tax calculations -- for health care providers across the USA.

I am a billing specialist and have been using ECLIPSE for many many years and absolutely love it! I work with all different types of offices and I am so happy when I find out that the software they use is ECLIPSE. A lot of the other systems I use require so much more work and often I even have to create my own spreadsheets to have the reports that I need. With ECLIPSE I never need to worry about creating spreadsheets as all the reports that I need I can generate from the software. I have also transitioned many offices from paper billing to electronic billing and with other software systems I have found that process to be much more difficult; there always seems to be something that goes wrong with the setup for electronic billing. When I transition offices that have ECLIPSE I find that I run into few, if any, problems with getting things going. I feel that ECLIPSE is very user-friendly and I can get my job duties done in less time versus using a different software. ECLIPSE keeps the software up-to-date and that makes my job as a Billing Specialist a lot easier. I recommend ECLIPSE to every office that I have come across that isn't already using it.

In the beginning, I could never get through to tech support, but that has gotten better. We have had several computer techs in the office to get the Kiosk and office chat to work. They still do not work, and all the help from GalacTek has not fixed it either. The tablets we were told would work did not work with the program. So we ended up selling them at half the price we paid for them.

As you learned when you called our HELP Desk, these features – which run on thousands of computers nationwide -- can potentially be blocked by your Anti-Virus software, your Windows settings, and/or your network switches and routers. The problem is very specific -- both the KIOSK & Office Chat will function reliably the instant it’s corrected by a network technician with the requisite MCSE designation. Generally, this issue is quickly resolved. We’re sorry that your computer/network problems have upstaged & overshadowed primary features of ECLIPSE such as documentation, scheduling and billing.

Our offices have been using Eclipse practice Managment software for over 20 years. It has been used in our primary facility and numerous satellite offices. Eclipse is an intuitive program and user friendly, even for those lacking computer knowledge. It is able to track and create reports necessary for proper statistical Managment do any medical or chiropractic office. First rate support staff, always accessible, highly knowledgable, and very patient with all staff members. I would highly recommend this product for individual and multi Doctor facilities

Pros

Fantastic billing program. Fast efficient, easy to use. All statistics and data reports available with a few simple key strokes. Frequent upgrades keep the program current with coding and billing trends and forms. Great support.v

Cons

None that I can think of. Just love the program.
