The software is intuitive and easy to use. It's also helpful to be able to log on remotely and work off-site. Cons The price is high, especially for smaller nonprofits. Pros Integration with RE is the main reason we converted from QB Online. It was a great decision, as it has increased efficiency and reduced errors. February 2, 2015 4.5 Pros I absolutely love the depth and breadth of services offered by Blackbaud, especially Financial Edge. As our organization has grown, Financial Edge has continued to provide the level of functionality and service we have needed to take ourselves to the next level. My favorite part, though, is that Financial Edge is always improving. As we have grown, it has grown. Cons This is a tough question. I would say that integration of products is not as easy as one might think or hope it would be. Thankfully, the support staff is great and helps you make it through to the end! " November 18, 2014 4.5 Pros Our auditor sometimes complains that we cannot delete journal entries. However, I have found it very helpful that the full entry of transactions, right or wrong, is available to me. Also, since we have moved to the cloud, we do not have to deal with all the updates, and our data is automatically backed up. Cons I would really like some simple things, like keeping the clear date of items in the banks/accounts payable to stay the same once I set it, because I show the clear date for all of my items as the end of the month no matter what day it clears the bank. The software is easy to use and has amazing information, all with a very robust web based GUI. Cons Blackbaud has recently purchase Smart Tuition as a student billing software. We have implemented Smart Tuition and are having issues with conversion from our existing older software. It bills at a summary level instead of at a transaction level. It integrates smoothly with Raiser's Edge and it is easy to teach new people without having to do ALL of the training. Pros Integration with the Raiser’s Edge is excellent and has really streamlined our organization’s processes. General ledge functionality is easy and intuitive for the user. The AP system is easy to navigate and allows for ease when cutting checks. The Cash Receipts module allows for easy recording of deposits. The General Ledger module is easy to navigate and report from. Cons Downloading reports. I do not like the way that reports download or the format when exporting to Excel. The vendor is awesome and the online chat and in-person support is excellent! Knowledgebase is an online tool for searching for tips, tricks, solutions, etc. Cons Sometimes the report building using the visual chart organizer is a little bit tedious, but I am still new at this, so it may just be the learning curve for me. It is important to Blackbaud that the client voices are heard. Every year they hold a conference that not only addresses the software but also gives us tools that we need as non-profits. Pros I love the fact that I can easily extract data. I also like that I can setup account restrictions and distributions to make sure data is correct and accurate, not to mention it saves time! It also gives greater flexibility in creating reports. I mainly do input on the GL but have to use the other modules to look up information. They're very easy to maneuver around in. You can use FE NXT from any location. Cons On thing that I like least is that not all the features are up and running yet. But Blackbaud is always improving. I cannot sort the Vendor terms. The Vendor terms do not have a date option. Many Vendors have their invoices due on one date every month.
