### "Incredible Bible Software"

December 19, 2018

5.0

I really like . I love being able to access so many commentaries in one place. I just wish I knew how to do more with it, because I know it has so much more to offer.

Pros

TONS of resources. It's got commentaries, dictionaries, lexicons, ebooks, and on and on. I mostly use it for the commentaries. You can search passages, and get all kinds of resources that pop up. You can also search topics, and get incredible info there, too. They also have a store where you can buy more resources, and they give away free books every month.

Cons

There is so much that Logos does, that what I use it for only scratches the surface of all it's capabilities. There are training videos that you can pay for to learn how to do more, but it would be nice to find some free resources to train me on how to do more. If there are free trainings, I don't know about them. Also, it is very expensive. I was able to get an incredible discount on mine almost 10 years ago, but to buy it outright is far more than I'd be willing to spend.

### "Best Bible Study Software Without a Doubt"

January 24, 2022

5.0

Excellent! I love this software and use it almost day and suggest it to others as well.

Pros

I can study the Bible in the original languages (I only know New Testament Greek, but I will be learning Hebrrew). I love that I can open what is known as the "Factbook" and type in any topic to see what resources in my Logos library address the topic. I can also search for any Bible passage, and Logos will show all pertinent resources. I can plan all my sermons, and take extensive notes all from Logos.

Cons

The pricing can be high for added new resources to the library. This can be reduced by buying grouped resources. While its most basic functions are easy, some of the features require a lot of knowledge to use, and documentation isn't always available.

### "EXPENSIVE AND MANY UNSOLVED ISSUES"

July 30, 2024

1.0

Apart from desktop app I often use web app and iPad to edit sermons but in both the undo button is not working so if by mistake I delete a text I am unable to undo it! There are many other problems the worst is lack of mobile editing! It gives more option than other programs but it is very expensive and mobile app is very neglected causing many issues that are not solved for many years. Also the desktop, web and ipad apps are not free from serious issues. For instance web and ipad apps does not allow to undo editing. Highlights of the text are not synchronised properly so in app they do not appear or are in the form of some ugly brackets, etc.

Pros

### "Comprehensive but Friendly Bible Tool"

September 8, 2022

5.0

I truly love this Bible App for what it offers and the style it uses.

Pros

\+ What love about the app is that It has more Bible Study Tools than one would demand. The menu itself was professionally categorized for easy direction to any user. +When you want to go to specific text of the Bible, it gives an easy and flexible menu for locating the desired verse. You can choose to check a Bible verse by quickly picking it from the grid view, or by typing the passage on a field above the grid, or by scrolling a freely flowing table of contents. You can also use the recent and favorites sections which the application automatically saves for you as you read the Bible + Has a dictionary that offers instant definitions as you read through the Bible. It is a very quick and convenient way of learning any new subject or area of spiritual life you desire to grow.

Cons

If I am to talk of the downside of the app, I would only mention of file size being big on android. I am saying that because the app is 75MB of size before downloading modules.

### "Exactly what a pastor needs"

October 23, 2019

5.0

I have enjoyed Logos significantly and would highly recommend it to any pastor or leader looking for a study resource.

Pros

Logos is deep and rich with valuable insight and information to help any pastor better prepare for sermons, bible studies and small groups. The search feature is very good and creates a lot of options for reading and research. There is plenty of resources here that everyday pastors' will find incredibly useful. This software saves time by having all the information in one spot and makes having a large library unnecessary. The phone app is pretty good as well, although I don't find I use it much.

Cons

It's a bit expensive, which will limit some from being able to access of the great features. That being said, it's worth the price if you're able to afford it. The layout is a bit clunky sometimes with several windows on one screen and I find that difficult to navigate. It could be that I use a 13" laptop but I suspect it would be the same on a larger screen. I can't say I have a different idea of how it should work so this criticism is not significant.

### "I love using Logos for my Bible studies, Bible college coursework, and to create faith articles."

February 6, 2018

5.0

The benefits of using Logos is wonderful. Once you become oriented to what it has to offer and how to access it quickly - it becomes a gold mine of information to help you in your personal walk of faith, Biblical studies, and to create content to help others.

Pros

The features are fabulous and the quality is excellent. Customer support is great if you need help. The program offers a wide range of resources and information for the user. You can add to the library as you go at your own pace.

Cons

Can be overwhelming to use at first, even for those with some technical background in using software programs. The pricing could be better in my personal opinion so more people can access the program content.

### "Logos is a powerful tool for studying the Scripture and also very expensive."

March 28, 2018

4.0

I have access to a plethora of resources to aid me in study and preparation. It would be the equivalent of having a personal research assistant - a very confused and tedious one - but a personal research assistant none the less.

Pros

You receive A LOT of resources depending on what package you buy. You have access to an extensive digital library.

Cons

The learning curve for utilizing Logos is steep. For the amount of money you pay for the software, the free training should be better and more extensive. The IPad app is not fully functional. Most of the resources the give you will go unused because you will have no idea how to use them unless you invest copious hours in the software

### "Powerful Bible study tool"

February 6, 2018

5.0

A one stop research tool for Bible study and preparing Bible talks

Pros

Simple access to various forms of research on any passage of Scripture (languages, dictionaries, commentaries, historical documents, books, etc.)

Cons

There are so many resources to keep indexed and functioning together that it demands a majority of my computer's system resources often "bogging" my computer down or just making Logos run slowly.

### "Best Bible/Church Software I've Ever Used"

April 5, 2018

5.0

My study of scripture has improved exponentially.

Pros

I used the Catholic version of Logos (Verbum). Not only is it first-rate Bible software but it also provides in-depth access to the writings of the Church Fathers and great theologians, saints and mystics from throughout Church history!

Cons

Not always the most intuitive interface. Would like to see better online help features and tutorials.

### "Logos is a great app to handle your Bible studies."

February 11, 2023

5.0

Pros

With Logos Bible, it is easy to grow in the Word of God because the app has many tools and a large community making it easy to find direct and trustworthy answers for your Bible questions.

Cons

It is hard to type in the Notes tab if left in split mode because the tab is hidden under keyboard. To avoid that, the page has to be pushed up, which ends up hiding the top window.

### "A Researcher's Dream"

June 16, 2021

5.0

is a biblical researcher's dream come true. As in other spheres of technological advancement, Logos is allowing us to do things in biblical studies that 20 years ago we would have thought was science fiction. Aside from the software itself, the support has been superb. I'm grateful for Logos/FaithLife every day.

Pros

Every individual has a personal style for studying, doing research, and preparing sermons or class sessions. We can celebrate the fact, therefore, that has such a vast array of interconnected tools and resources that anyone using Logos can do their Bible-related prep work in the manner that suits their study-research personality. Over the years of using Logos, making extensive use of the notes and visual filters features, I have been able to dive deeper into the biblical text, its cultural background, and its underlying structures than I ever thought possible. Because of the vast library of books, journals and other resources available in the Logos format, I have often thought of the learning opportunities that Logos Bible Software has given me as nearly equal to the Oxford education I was never in a position to pursue.

Cons

What's not to like? Except that has more power and features than you'll ever get around to using! I do wish that some of the more advanced grammatical tools were easier and more intuitive to use (I've never been able to assemble a working Syntax Search of my own). However, a higher learning curve for more advanced tools is to be expected.

### "Logos is essential to my daily Christian life and work as a pastor"

February 17, 2023

5.0

Overall, my use of Logos has increased every year as I grow more accustomed to the software and the various features. I'm glad that I made the switch nearly 10 years ago.

Pros

Each day I use the customizable reading plans to work through various sections of the Bible. I also use this to help me get through larger books and multi-volume works. The sermon planning add-on has been invaluable over the past several years in planning long-term sermon series and keeping them organized with notes.

Cons

Cost is always an issue when expanding any library. I'm glad the dynamic pricing exists, which makes it cheaper to buy in bulk. I understand that much of the reason for the added cost is due to the tagging and search functions that Logos uses.

### "My go-to resource for sermon preparation"

October 10, 2018

5.0

It would be hard to imagine my sermon preparation without Logos. From looking up number of occurrences of words, to research in the original languages, to having dozens of commentaries at my fingertips, Logos helps me consistently present well-researched messages in a fraction of the time it would take to do manually.

Pros

Logos dramatically cuts down the amount of time I spend writing sermons each week by compiling all the resources I need in one location. Not only that, but with the fairly recent addition of the Sermon Builder component, my message slides can be automatically generated and inserted into Proclaim, Faithlife's presentation software. This saves this small-church pastor some valuable time while still delivering an excellent end result.

Cons

The biggest con with Logos is the price. However, I believe it has more than paid for itself in the last 10 years of ministry.

Response from Faithlife

October 13, 2018

Sean, thank you for this. We love seeing people take advantage of the sermon builder and its integration with Proclaim. We're working on some great features to take this even further. Also, make sure you check out our new website builder at https://sites.faithlife.com. If you publish your sermon to https://sermons.faithlife.com, it will automatically appear on your Faithlife Site. We're trying to remove more pain points for pastors of small churches. We hear you have a few things on your plate. =)

### "My Tech Support Experience with \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\]"

June 12, 2021

5.0

Pros

Resource availability. I bought the TDOT TDNT Bundle 2 days ago, the complete installation of was run overnight. All I can say, due to my lack of experience with it is "I am excited about its potential for my Biblical research."

Cons

Such a HUGE program it is expected to have some early challenges. Mine was that I could not find the large set I had bought and couldn't even find the Library which would be my main work area. In my desire to at least find that before you closed on \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] I called for \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\]. It was so wonderful that the day I bought the TDOT TDNT Bundle he kindly sent an email relative about your support department. He included a number of links that have been most helpful. At that time was impressed with his patience as I talked with him and ask a few questions. He seemed to be very well versed by the way he responded to my questions. Then, when I got the helpful links I thought he had graciously taken additional time to send me that information. He graciously included his contact information. I was so pleased to have that reference on his email so I could go directly to him today when I could not locate the library so I could start using it tomorrow. Again, he went the 2nd mile to get me up and going. You have an excellent employee with \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\]. He presents a good face and helpful attitude! Your Pleased Customer, Jon Green.

Reason for choosing Logos Bible Software

My son-in-law is a pastor in Maryland. He has been with Logos Software for years. Its resources he depends upon heavily in his ministry. He is also a Hebrew and Greek scholar. Has a burning interest in Church History. Talk about "burning" he lost his library of several thousand books in a church fire. While some of his books were irreplaceable, he was so thankful to the Lord that he was also heavily invested in Logos Software, so he shed ONLY a few tears--and the insurance money could expand his library exponentially with Logos Software. That is why I am glad to now be with Logos!

### "Best Bible Software Package"

October 9, 2018

5.0

Logos is great for developing sermons and lesson plans!

Pros

This review is for , NOT for Proclaim Logos simply has the largest library available for the student. The number of tools that are available are (honestly) overwhelming, but the experienced user can master these tools quickly. It is possible to easily get lost in the weeds with Logos because the weeds are so easily gotten to. However, sometimes chasing a rabbit down its hole is worth it!

Cons

It can easily get very expensive. I would recommend buying sets you want or only investing in a library if just about everything it contains is something you want to add to your library. It may be more expensive to purchase individual books, but you won't get hundreds of resources you don't want/need.

Review Source

Response from Faithlife

October 12, 2018

Gregory, thank you for this review. We appreciate it. You're correct. Purchasing libraries is definitely more cost effective than the individual titles. If you're ever considering a larger purchase, don't hesitate to call in to our team. We're happy to help crunch the numbers and recommend the most cost-effective way to add the resources you're looking at to your library.

### "An endless number of resources, literally in the palm of your hands"

April 11, 2020

5.0

I consider myself a very investigative character, I usually don't take anyone to their word, my curiosity has pushed me to doubt and research many topics and the enlightenment and spiritual enrichment has been amazing.

Pros

I currently have over 2500 resources in my library, I will possibly not have time ever to read every single one of them, BUT through the usage of Logos 8 I am able to reference my entire library for whatever pieces of information I need, even when researching while on the go on my cellphone.

Cons

The inability to import resources to my kindle. I'd even be happy if they would come up with a device (like a Kindle) exclusive for their content.

### "Good, if you have the money"

August 14, 2019

4.0

Pros

I love the ease of finding a lot of information about a text quickly on one screen. I also enjoy being about to work across my desktop, tablet, and phone somewhat seamlessly.

Cons

The software itself is expensive. Also, the resources are costly; it is almost always cheaper to buy a used commentary from the internet than to buy the same commentary in Logos. Finally, the newer version is a memory hog and runs slow, even on my fairly new laptop.

Reason for choosing Logos Bible Software

Logos was smoother and more polished than its competitors.

Pros

While expensive, this program is really worth the money. One can do a vast amount of research with such a great amount of ease.

Cons

I only wish the price would come down a little to make it more accessible to the masses.

### "Great software -- even the free version"

December 21, 2022

5.0

When I start a sermon and need to dive into the text, Logos provides me not only with the detailed grammatical and vocabulary analyses, it helps by offering powerful search engines to help me compare throughout many different texts.

Pros

It is hard to beat the extensive libraries, powerful search engine, and well designed layout of this program. I work a lot in New Testament studies, and this is a staple. Even the free version offers enough resources to do serious work. If you like working offline on a set program, this is the best.

Cons

It still seems to me that the paid versions are becoming out of date given the amount of texts available online for free. Of course, it is nice to have all of those resources in one place, but that is for the buyer to judge.

### "Logos is the most powerful and useful Bible software out there."

February 10, 2018

5.0

It gives me deeper understanding of the Bible as I use the original language tools, and access to great commentaries, bible dictionaries, and other resources all on my computer so I can dive deeper into something I am wanting to learn more about.

Pros

The language tools, in particular the Greek and Hebrew interlinear features that enable you to see what original language words were used, and quickly find their definitions. I like having a number of commentaries available at the click of the button (much faster than having to pull them from the shelf; and easier when it comes time to move as well!).

Cons

The cost for a good set is very expensive. Also, sometimes it can be challenging to remember how to do certain functions (such as export verse lists to Word, or execute various search functions).

### "Ministry Life-Saver"

January 18, 2022

5.0

I originally switched to Logos from the Macintosh version of Accordance just out of seminary. I was hesitant at first, but I have been happy I made the switch. I have been using Logos everyday in my preparation time for almost 20 years. I would not use any other software.

Pros

has enabled me to study the bible more effectively and efficiently. I love that my library is basically at my fingertips and can go with me no matter where I am preparing my sermons.

Cons

The cost to upgrade can be expensive for ministers who are on a tight budget.

### "Good"

June 26, 2018

4.0

Pros

I like the availability and practicality of the material. There are many valuable resources available there. Also, they are always offering new content and it is perceptive that they want to cover many books that are important in the field of biblical studies and theology. There is also a discount program for students, which has been helpful to get essential sources for a less high price.

Cons

More advanced research is still tricky. By contrast, there are many features that are possible to achieve with Bible Works that are not possible in Logos. For example, Logos is not helpful when I want to research specific lemmas and common phrases within the Hebrew Bible. It is still very dependent on traditional, though important, lexicons and theological dictionaries. It is not versatile and dynamic, though. In that case, the advanced reader needs to combine logos with Bible Works. Both are, however, very expensive.

### "Logos Bible Software and Customer Support"

June 25, 2021

5.0

Pros

The software is used daily for sermon prep, Bible studies, etc. Still trying to learn how to use the sermon builder. So far, it seems to guide me onto a specific path or routine. Haven't tried the integration with Word, PowerPoint, and Proclaim. I called customer support because I wasn't able to upgrade my Logos 8 to 9. CS was extremely patient and helpful. My Logos 9 now works! If I have 5 stars to give, I'll give 10.

Cons

Steep learning curve = A bit overwhelming, but still learning to use it.

Reason for choosing Logos Bible Software

It was a necessary move since Wordsearch was bought by Logos. But Logos sees to it that all my purchased resources from WS were able to migrate to Logos.

### "My favorite Bible Software"

September 14, 2021

5.0

I have used Logos for many years. I find it superior to all other Bible softwares.

Pros

I love the fact that through the years I’ve been able to amass quite a significant library. I also enjoy the fact that I can use it on many platforms and devices. I also look forward to the monthly free books and my birthday gift.

Cons

Sometimes the language study section is a little clunky for me.

Reason for choosing Logos Bible Software

I feel like I get more bang for my proverbial buck with and the Faithlife library.
