OpenEMR Reviews
"Best open source EMR available"
Pros: This is the most customizable EMR there is because it is open source. Everything is possible and best of all is the ability to access any data for reporting purposes.
Cons: For non-technical users, implementation of this EMR depends on having a good support contractor.
"This is the future of EMR's"
Overall: Providing OpenEMR as a service to low income countries in Africa
Pros: What attracted me to the Software was the ease in creating encounter forms using the LBV technology. You do not need to be a developer to start creating forms. There is a weekly conference call where both technical and non-technical individuals all over the world call in to discuss and help fellow developers facing any challenge. There's also a monthly training session which teaches individuals how to extend the features of the system.
Cons: initially it looks involving. Alot of steps to get simple stuff done. But once you're used to the process, you wouldnt even notice. Also, for countries outside the US, some of the terms used in the software maybe misleading.
"Very customizable "
Pros: This software has a lot of customization options, which can be good or bad. It takes awhile to get it set up how you want.
Cons: It can be tricky for some users to get the hang of. Ultimately it wasn't the right software for us.
"Omega Review of OpenEMR"
Overall: Good.
Pros: Low cost, high feature set. Cloud deployable.
Cons: Some features not very user friendly. Source code sometimes confusing.
