I get done what I need to get done and have all the basics that I need. Pros The ease of use has been critical for me & my business. Cons I do feel that there could be more features - many of which are likely available in the paid versions - that would certainly help out. October 1, 2021 5.0 Pros Very easy to set up and processing credit cards either in person or over the phone is a breeze Cons They offer a "CBD" program for businesses in that realm, and will sign you up right away, but then come back a year later and THEN verify you. During this verification time your funds are frozen, you can get no support other than email, and ALL emails are vague, never really telling you what to correct. You are literally guessing and then resubmitting just for them to reject it again. They can keep you tied up for MONTHS like this which can easily sink a small business. June 15, 2021 5.0 Pros The ease of getting started and getting the website up and running in real time. This fits perfectly for us as a small nonprofit. We are able to take donations, integrate with our registration software for workshops and events. I love how they evolved with the times. Square is NOT just for profit businesses but a big deal to nonprofits too! Cons Only feature I least liked is the site design, colors, and templates. Wish there was more options. Tried other platforms and nothing comes close. It’s very intuitive and user friendly. I like that it’s a one stop shop to everything. It’s also designed with clean lines. I like the available products and features available. Cons I have difficulty checking out directly from appointments. The reader connection is tricky. I need to forget the device and reset the reader when the connection is bad. I can't connect from Bluetooth in settings, and I can not use it with multiple devices. February 3, 2023 1.0 My wife and I run a business which has a trust account connected to Square. We signed up and had one of our client made our first transaction. Square put money on hold in March 2022 and still keeps it. We have called Square for a resolution and they keep telling us that their technology malfunctioned and they are looking into it. The amount our client paid was almost $20,000, which was supposed to be used to rent their home. Imagine the frustration when that rent wasn’t happening and Square keeps the money for almost a year!! Then Square representative said the money was finally available and will be deposited to our bank. But instead, Square tech tried taking another almost $20,000 from our bank! Thanks to Bank of America who blocked the transaction as fraud. Square is a fraud indeed!! Now our Square account shows zero balance and we still did not get the money to refund to our client. What a sham! They say they are in technology business…. Pros Nothing. It blocked the very first transaction and we had no chance to experience it. No reason was explained to us other than technical difficulties. Cons Malfunctions from the very first use and for almost a year. Scary. Over $20000 kept by Square for no reason and with no explanation. Review Source SG Staci G.
