December 19, 2023 5.0 In reviewing your needs, see what Zoom may offer you, but if you're anything like me, the Fathom system was an easy decision as I was able to quickly implement without incurring additional costs on my Zoom subscription Pros The main benefit of Fathom for me is the recording & transcript features - primarily as a backup to Zoom's system​, and I love the "action items"​ feature that allow me to highlight parts of the call that I need to look at after a meeting ends. Cons The app sometimes doesn't load automatically as it should and has to be called to open through the "apps" button in the Zoom window. April 18, 2024 5.0 Pros I love that Fathom captures not only the recording and transcript of the call - and very accurately at that - but it also captures all the highlights, topics touched on, and action items in the summary. This allows me to enjoy the call with my client/prospect without having my nose in my notebook scribbling as fast as I can. It's professional! It contacts the attendee ahead of time and asks for approval to have it on the call, and it offers them a copy. This is SO appreciated by my clients! Cons There is nothing I've found so far that I dislike about Fathom. I do wish it were a little less than $20/month, but it's hard to say that's not a fair price for the value received. It has been so easy to setup and use it actually made meetings fun again! Pros It takes perfect notes. Action items. Allows you to make unlimited custom tags that know to rewind to where that part of the conversation started to highlight it which turns into quick links later that you can send to others who only need that piece. Cons Would be an amazing addition to support more than one calendar. For me I have multiple companies and most calendars are active. I can forward the meeting to the email fathom is logged in as for a work around. December 21, 2023 5.0 The problem it solves for me is issues with inaccurate note-taking (by others generally) and saves me time. I am also more focused on meetings now due to having it which means I can serve my clients better. I love this software and have had an amazing experience since I first started using it. I highly recommend it to everyone! Pros I first started using Fathom six months ago when I had rotator cuff surgery and was in a sling for 6 weeks and unable to type. I run several meetings a week, I work with online business owners to grow and scale their online businesses and I also do coaching and consulting. I say that to explain that in ALL the meetings I run, I take MANY notes. Not being able to type had me worried so I found and tried out Fathom a couple weeks prior to my surgery and I fell in love with it! I no longer have to manually make notes of to-do items or key points to follow up on. It was also so easy to use, and the learning curve was small, so anyone who is tech-challenged can use this! I learned it very fast, and here I am seven months later, using it for every meeting I have. I can now be more present in meetings since I am not manually capturing so much information. One feature I love is the transcript and how I can search based on keywords. I find myself doing this weekly, and it is amazing for me. So it's also saving me time after meetings, whereas before, I'd have to take time rewatching parts of a recording, and time is money! Out of all the software I use (and I have used a lot in my 10+ years in online business) this is one of the top tools I now recommend to anyone! March 26, 2024 5.0 Great, I love using it, very handy, I still reach for my pen and then I remember I dont have to... when you got Fathom... One of the best apps that I use constantly and share as well.... Pros Most helpful is the fact I no longer have to take notes, the notes from Fathom come in less than a minute, I can share with the person I was on the Zoom with and they are impressed with how quickly they get the info. I love how concise the notes are as well, seamless integration with Zoom. As a business person this is an exception tool to have so you really get the opportunity to be in the moment with no distractions knowing all the important info will be captured.. On the fence give it a try.. you will see all the benefits and the time it saves, way quicker than Zoom recordings as well. I am on zoom meets everyday and I use it at least 3 times a day. I havent had to reach out to customer support but if the app is anything to go by, the customer support should rock. Very easy to use as well..love it cause I am not tekky.. lol Cons The fact that it can only record 2 people ... at a time.. but who knows whats coming I am sure that is part of the future... Can't advocate for it enough! Pros The time savings alone is monumental - I'm getting HOURS of time per week back that I would have been spending on meeting summaries, documentation, action item capture, etc. It's like having a personal secretary and project manager all in one. Cons There was one small hiccup in getting our company VPN to play nicely with Fathom, but the Fathom team was incredible responsive and helpful in helping us resolve that. Massive time saver for me and I am already trying to convince people I know to start using it. Pros That the Ai note taking part is super sharp, and the email summaries I get at the end save me hours a week. I am comparing to other tools here, but I´ve never had one where I just trusted it had understood and therefore didn´t need to verify. Cons This is kinda harsh, as it is just a feature I´d like, but the ability to instruct the AI note taker as to what kinda things to focus on in different kinds of meetings, so when I have calls with externals, assume it is sales and focus on XYZ, when its a meeting with person X, it is a short daily, focus on ZYX, etc. Also, that it gives the same amount of notes regardless of the meeting length, Alternatives considered [Otter](https://www.capterra.com/p/202799/Otter/) Reason for choosing Fathom I have tried Otter and others like it before, so I guess all of them. Not entirely, but enough that I can fully focus on the conversation and not need to pause to take things down. Overall, the program maximizes efficiency for both myself and my colleagues. Pros As an account manager, I'm consistently on internal calls with team members and external calls with clients. Being able to view a call summary immediately after a meeting ends makes it extremely easy to create a list of action items to work on. Cons One issue I've run into is times when I do not want Fathom to join a call. I never knew what I was missing out on until I found Fathom. I recommend it to everyone I come in contact with because that peace of mind having an easy to go back recording, timestamps and transcription is so helpful. Pros Everything doesn't even cover it. I was spending so much time in meetings trying to take notes, not miss anything and then having to manually rewatch zoom recordings for extra details and my focus was so much on making sure I didn't miss something I was rarely able to contribute fully to meetings. Then I would have to spend time post meeting, writing summaries, sending out key points and next steps. Fathom's AI transcript is pretty close to perfect, I can share the summaries with the team and easily go back in any meeting and scan until I find what I need. It has saved me hours of time and it shows in how many other more important things I am able to do during the day. Cons I am hard pressed to find something I don't like. Sometimes on the transcript it shows I am talking when someone else is but this has never been an issue for me and how I use fathom because I am the one managing meetings and notes so I already know who was talking even if it says I was talking when it wasn't me. I just wish it could do EVEN more for me when it comes to transcription (see above). The team is really great and I can tell they care deeply about the customer. They are quick and responsive and I'm really impressed and excited with the direction Fathom is heading. Pros I've used many transcription services and Fathom is the best one. Fathom's meeting transcription is incredibly accurate and has saved me hours of time. Usually with transcription services, I still have to go through and heavily edit but with Fathom I can quite literally copy and paste. The tool itself is pretty easy to use and the team is responsive to feedback and questions. Cons Sometimes Fathom is hard to remove from a call, which can lead to some awkward panic. Since I primarily use Fathom for its transcription feature, I wish I could upload a video or audio into Fathom. I like the new tools and improvements and an option to use it for free as well as having paid options. Pros I've been using Fathom for over 2years now and still find it great! The new addition I tend to use a lot is shareable playlists of highlights. Playlists let you save highlights from calls into organized collections that are easily sharable. This becomes very useful when keeping feedback across multiple meetings organized. I also use call transcripts as input into other AI analyzers and report builders. Cons Then only things i would like to change at this point is to have an option to minimize the Fathom icon on the Team call. This has quickly become a piece of required business software that I will always have in my arsenal. Pros Fathom was recommended to me by a friend and I'm so glad she did. After she showed me the notes it took for one of her meetings, I immediately went and downloaded it. Installing and creating an account was quick and very easy. Ever since then, I haven't looked back and I've used it in every client and team meeting. What impressed me the most is the notes at the very end of the recap - "Next Steps". It is so spot in I'm blown away every single time. I've even had clients tell me how impressed they are by Fathom and have since started using it themselves. The notes are incredibly detailed and accurate that I no longer feel like I'm the one telling people what to do. It's all there in the "next steps" section. Plus, integration was so easy. It's synced to my calendar so it jumps into all of my meetings and asks to join just like a person would. At that point, I can choose to the system into my meeting or cancel the recording. As a bonus, it also reminds me on my desktop of my next meeting. I honestly can't imagine my life without Fathom. Cons I have yet to find anything that I don't like about the software.
