December 19, 2023 5.0 I am genuinely impressed by the pace of feature releases and the support team's responsiveness. This company values user feedback and builds products with end users' productivity in mind. Pros It's really "set and forget". It automatically joins my calls, and I have the option to add to ad-hoc meetings through the desktop app. The email summary is often used as a part of my follow-up workflow and I can easily copy and paste the summaries and share. Cons The interface for my library of recorders is not well organized, and hard to add labels, utilize folders and not have the thumbnails show up. December 20, 2023 5.0 My experience with Fathom has always been great, it's so seamless and super helpful in so many different ways. Pros I love that I can always go back and rewatch any meetings, as well as having the transcriptions of them! I use Fathom for every single meeting, which is about 7-8 times a week so it helps me keep them all organized. It was super easy to set up my account and integrate it with my google meet account aswell! Any time I've ever had any slight technical issue, their support has been super helpful and helps fix it every single time. Cons The only downside I've had with Fathom is sometimes the transcripts aren't super accurate of who is talking/ what exactly they said, but it's still super super close so it's honestly not my biggest concern! I host multiple meetings at my job and also am responsible for drafting meetings notes and sending out tasking to my team after the meeting. Fathom has completely taken the overwhelm out of hosting a meeting. I love the meeting summaries and the tasks it generates. I also love being able to rewatch any of my meetings without having to record, download and save each meeting to my desktop. Cons I don't like that when screen sharing, you can't see the partipants in the recording. They did turn on the setting in my account to allow this, but my participants were weirded out that is said my meeting was being live streamed. Also, I am saving hours a day with the summary feature in Fathom. I have been composing the summary from scratch which is time-consuming. It's a dependable tool that has helped me perform better at work by capturing better meeting insights. Pros What I like best about Fathom is the ability to search for certain keywords within the audio clip using the home page search bar. This feature has helped me review meetings using snippets of what I remember without having to go through entire meetings. Very useful! Cons I get annoyed by the fact that the playback button's color background mixes with the meeting's screen recording display making it hard to toggle between speeds when I need to speed up or down at notable periods within a meeting. It is easy to use, and those on my team who are not as tech savvy have found it incredibly easy to implement. Pros We run a lot of projects and the notes that it creates from the portfolio kick-off summary is incredible. Clicking that summary at the end of my meeting saves me an hour of time. I can always use an extra hour back in my day. Cons We have not experience something we don't like yet. Reason for choosing Fathom The amount of features they offered appeared to be the most robust. Pros The tool just works exactly as described. It records and transcribes my calls effortlessly, and I love the automated recaps. I also love that I can effortlessly share recordings with clients - they appreciate that I "keep my word" because everything is documented with action items. Cons I strongly dislike that there is no multiple account feature. I have to toggle between my personal, my client account, and my agency account all day. Switched from [Otter](https://www.capterra.com/p/202799/Otter/) That bot just does not work as well as Fathom, and I always found it super intrusive. It would send weird messages in the chat which would freak out clients. The ability to have an automated note taker, that not only records and transcribes the meeting, but also provides a detailed meeting summary, including next steps, saves me so much time. These small admin tasks take up a lot of time when taking into account the multiple external touchpoints I have as a CSM everyday. I also find the coutdown feature that I get in my mac top bar that gives me at a quick glance how much time I have until my next meeting. The installation process was simple and easy to follow, and once I got used tot he pop up that happens every time I have a meeting, using the system was a breeze. I also really appreciated that the account manager assigned to me sent me a few emails about some features that would be helpful to me in examining my use of the platform. Cons One thing they can improve on is the installation process. I am comfortable downloading an application and installing it as I work for a software company, but I can definitely see that it may be challeging to others. Review Source GS Geran S. Whenever I have questions or concerns, the support team at Fathom is quick to reply and provide meaningful responses. The ability to generate highlights and clips of important sections on the fly has made taking action after a meeting significantly easier. Pros The main draw for myself and my team was having a quick and easy way to generate transcriptions of meetings as a part of regular call reporting. All of the additional features are just bonuses for us. The generation of meeting notes that get sent to participants is incredibly helpful. We've had customers come back and tell us how much they like having those sent to them. The transcriptions are clean and the AI summary is very accurate. Cons There are a few new features I'd like to have, mainly integrating with other tools that we use internally, so I'd hardly count that as a knock against Fathom. Review Source ES Evan S. Pros \* Easy to take & summarise notes. \* Saves a lot of time and effort. \* Ability to highlight important action points in the meeting. \* Now I do not need to get my assistant to attend the meeting to take notes. \* Starts automatically when the meeting starts, no need to restart at each meeting. \* Recording starts automatically when the attendees have joined. \* Good customer support team and quick response time. I came from Gong and I can say that this is a step in the right direction and way more bang for your buck. Pros I love the integration and AI notetaker. The fact that everything loads in my CRM makes it easy for me and my team to locate and execute at a higher level. Makes it easy when training as well. Just sending them a google doc or a hubspot link. Cons Just when creating tasks. The date populates to the same day, not a dealbreaker by any means though. I've been in meetings where people talk all over the place about what they think they want without ever actually deciding what they want. Also sometimes meetings end with no action items or next steps ever nailed down. Fathom helps capture those items for me. Pros I love the way that Fathom cuts straight to the point of the meeting. Determining key takaways, action items, next steps etc. I have been blow away with how well it can decifer someone talking in circles and get to the point of what they actually need. I love having the recap immediatly after the meeting that I can skim through to make sure that I didn't miss anything that needs to get added to my project board. I also love how easy the desktop tool was to install and use. I can start my Teams meetings directly from the Fathom app and the AI notetaker joins my meetings automatically. I have used it for every meeting I've had since signing up! Cons The AI is great but not perfect, it sometimes gets words or point incorrect. Flowing with the documentation of progress and calls with my clients. It is seamless. Customer service is setting a new standard. Absolutely amazing. Pros I love how at the end of a meeting I can instantaneously share the recording with participants. WONDERFUL TIME SAVER! Also I love the transcription. It is so helpful to be able to scroll through the content to find the spot I'm looking for. And the video is pretty amazing too. Cons I don't prefer how it takes up a window of its own on zoom calls. Pros As an Enterprise CSM, I have many conversations with big clients. Sometimes having many on my Zoom calls all at once. Fathom AI allows me to focus on my clients, actively listen better to them, and bring as much value to the meetings as possible. Fathom stays behind the scenes gathering all the Action Items, key take aways, and notes that I can gather and send a recap to the customer, and also log that recap in our other CRMs that we use. It also helps me focus on my client and not worry about note taking. Highlighting sections of the conversation is handy when needing to remember something that was said and the upgraded AI Summary is excellent! Pros The cloud recording is just awesome, this is a handy feature and that's not even speaking of the AI features such as rich summary and transcript function! Cons The odd time, Live Stream cloud recording (still in beta) seems to fail without rime or reason and manually restarting it is hit/miss. Reason for choosing Fathom I felt Fathom offered a better solution to try it out as there were relatively few restrictions.
