Better than any other tool I've tried for this Pros The talk time indicator during call really helps me be aware of lopsided conversations. The AI summaries are incredibly helpful and save so much time. Being able to go back, quickly search the transcript, and review comments or notes from a call is so easy. I use it every single day and it relieves a lot of stress since I don't have to take copious notes during the calls. Cons The playback window is a bit hard to see things like screenshare or other details, I wish it was more responsive to sizing changes. April 30, 2024 5.0 The first time I used Fathom, it was mind blowing how well the A.I. can summarize a conversation. It always feels great to forward the meeting summary to clients seconds after ending the video call. Now I find myself recommending the software every time I have a video call! Pros As an architect, details are important in my line of work. Fathom allows me to focus on my clients without being worried about missing any details. Before Fathom I would end online calls only to have a desk covered in barely legible sticky notes. Now everything is neatly organized for me instantaneously. It's amazing! Cons So far there isn't anything specific I can point to that I don't like about Fathom. It renders the whole conversation with almost no mistakes, plus a short summary which is great for getting a quick feel for the whole conversation. Pros With one click I record a zoom call and difficult to forget as it shows as a participant. When finished I immediately get not only the video recording but a transcript and even a summary of the discussion Cons The only thing I don't like is that I didn't discover Fathom sooner! It makes my job 10x easier when it comes to capturing notes and recording calls. Pros My favorite part about Fathom is the quick Highlighting ability. It makes my note taking real-time so much easier. Not only does this help me put things into buckets based on topics of the meeting, but it makes it really easy for sending things to the right places after. I will send Feedback Requests to our product channel in slack, and all of the pain points I highlight go straight into Hubspot meeting notes for that company. Cons Only things I dislike is that it doesn't let you connect to CRM after the fact. So if I have a call that a prospect uses a different email, I can't link that to the right contact. It is taking care of my note taking and making sure I don't miss any important pieces of information and give me the ability to 100% focus on the conversation with my customer. Support is excellent as well. Pros It is extremely accurate. At first I was heistant thinking it wouldn't do well with capturing the key point and statements made in my meetings but I was wrong. It was very detailed in capturing all the important information mentioned in my meetings and its summary is categorized and easy to read and navigate. So easy to use I don't need to do anything, it joins my meetings and sends me the summary once I'm finished. I always found it challenging to make sure I was taking detailed notes while trying to communicate with my customers but now I can focus my attention 100% on them and let Fathom do the note taking. Having the notes, highlights, and video immediately is a game changer. Pros Fathom allows me, my teammates, and our partners to focus on the subjects at hand instead of the mechanics of meeting note-taking. Being free to keep my mind on the work has made meetings more productive, and our partners find the video recordings with recaps and highlights incredibly valuable. Cons Two improvements could make Fathom even better: First, a custom lexicon. Business is full of proprietary names, acronyms, and phrases that the AI can't yet understand. If I could enter a custom lexicon and then grow it to help the AI learn, that would make this tool even better. Second, branded environments. I own a brand development agency, so our vibe is important. Fathom's stock environmental branding is neutral and not distracting, but it would be better if I could practice what I preach when sending a recording recap. April 19, 2024 5.0 Love it! Super easy to use and implement. Pros Most salespeople like, I can't stand doing admin, Fathom has been the perfect tool to help alongside this. Fathom produces a full summary of all my meeting and links stright. into our CRM salesforce. I can access the notes summary and points at any point so it's been great when doing follow up meetings and you have forgotten the origional conversation. It was also super easy to set up and link with our CRM so loved that. Any questions I had too were answered straight away. Anytime I have a question their customer service responds almost immediately. Pros I love the accuracy of the transcriptions, and the breakdown of questions and action items. Fathom integrates seamlessly with my Zoom and is there when I want it. The post-meeting processing is quick and accurate. Pros Fathom is simply a fantastic addition to my Zoom meetings. Not having to worry about taking notes frees me up to listen to what other parties are saying. The AI "filters" for meeting summaries (e.g., Sales, Customer Success, Project Update) are also a great value-add for teasing out relevant information and action items from meetings. Cons My only dislike is that I can't use Fathom in a solo Zoom meeting, where I am just trying to get a video, transcript, and summary notes for a video I am producing to post online. Fathom seems to expect another party to join before it will start recording. The workaround is to join as another party on another device, but that is a little clunky. Review Source Charlotte B. Pros Fathom has been a GAME CHANGER for my client meetings. The ability to not only have the recorded but when I go to review it's transcribed AND has a summary. Also, being able to highlight and mark action items during the meeting is beyond clutch. It has helped so much with clarity around tasks discussed during meetings. If you aren't using fathom, NOW is the time to get it and use it for the very next meeting you have. It's so simple to download and start using also. I connected it 10 minutes before a meeting and had time to spare before the meeting started. I use it in ever meeting now! Cons When I was setting up I was unsure of how to do it properly but after a short discussion on what I was doing with support, I was set up to run quickly. When I need to send a video to someone I can very easily share the Fathom link rather than having to go through the faff of uploading the video to WeTransfer and sending it that way. I no longer have to take extensive notes during meetings and it helps me be more focused and present. People rarely object to being recorded when they can see that Fathom is a notetaker. It's an easy one-click button to send the recording to a participant if they've requested. Fathom deals with notifying people about the meeting recording in advance as well so it's much better for me from a privacy protection point of view. Pros It works so well, and very consistently. It makes note-taking during calls so much easier and the AI generated results are perfect for me to glance through and remind myself of key points. I love the fact I no longer have to use the Zoom recorder and fill up space on my cloud storage. It makes it amazingly easy to share videos as well. The automations behind the highlighting are excellent. So, so much value from a free product. I think it's great that it detects any issues with recordings and sends you an email to explain why it happens. Very proactive and I've not experienced that with any other tool I've used. Cons For some reason the Fathom module appears just off screen when it launches. I fully understand why the Fathom module needs to be on my screen during the call but it does tend to get in the way when I'm screen sharing, especially if there are a few highlights and notes already in place. Being able to implement it and have it integrate directly with hubspot without our any lift from our sales team has been a driving force behind the team's adoption. We use fathom for all meetings, as the ability to summarize meetings and provide action items has pushed us to use google meet in one off internal meetings where we may not have previously. The team at Fathom has also been incredibly responsive to feedback and contiunes to improve the product. Pros As a business coach and consultant I'm in a lot of Zoom meetings. They are the primary tool I use to interface with prospects, jv partners and clients. Fathom's Ai generated summaries are a total game changer. No more note taking, and no more re-watching meetings to make sure all of the critical information was captured. Clean, concise summaries that are easy to read, share and draw from make using Fathom a must. Everything is easy to find post recording as well with a clean interface on the user side. A must-have tool for anyone who utilizes meetings for work. Cons Before making your first group recording you need to toggle on a setting to make sure Fathom can recognoze you within the group before it can enable the recording. I wasn’t aware of this and lost a critical training that I assumed was being recorded. It's not a repeatable mistake, but when it happens the first time it's a shock. I may have missed the info about this when I first started using the tool so I'm not sure where the fault falls. March 19, 2024 5.0 I use Fathom nearly every day for meetings with clients, and I recommend it to anyone who takes online meetings or who conducts interviews. Not only can the Zoom recording exist, but folks can even add a free transcript. Who doesn't love that? Pros Never again will I have to take notes -- I can keep eye contact and stay engaged in my meetings without worrying if I've missed something. Plus, the transcription is so accurate that for text changes, I can literally copy/paste into working documents. Massive time saver!! Cons That it can't follow me around IRL and capture my in-person meetings! :) Reason for choosing Fathom I only heard about OtterAI after Fathom and have no interest in switching. Gives me unlimited storage so I don't have to delete call recordings. Cons The biggest concern I had at first was that I had to have a "2nd account" in the call in order to get Fathom to work. It was simple to implement. You use Fathom when watching the tutorial video, which makes learning it easy. Having all my meetings in one place with the ability to search on any word/topic has really improved the way I organize my meeting content. Pros The summaries it generates are amazingly accurate. Sometimes I don't need to edit it at all. At the worst, I only have to make a few edits. Also, it works with MS Teams, Zoom, and other major videoconferencing systems.
