### "Easy to Use-Hard to Learn"

May 31, 2025

4.0

Pros

It's attention to detail. I can send statements all throughout the month. So much better than waiting and send 1x per month,

Cons

It is very hard to learn at first and the help from staff is non-existent once training is completed.

### "Straightforward Workhorse Platform "

June 25, 2024

5.0

We've enjoyed using the Veradigm platform, it is easy to use and fairly customizable. We have multiple providers so being able to do custom templates for each of them is helpful. Staff in all areas of the practice use it daily and find it easy to use regardless of their role.

Pros

This is an easy to use platform that doesn't have a lot of frills but gets the job done. It can feel basic sometimes but for those looking for ease of use the lack of fancy bells and whistles is actually a good thing.

Cons

Support can be challenging to get a hold of and turnaround times for service tickets can vary.

### "WORST.EHR/EMR.EVER!!!!"

April 8, 2017

1.0

It is so ancient. Not sure how they can say they are one of the best or leading in EHR?? Complete lie! Has any of the faculty or developers of this company ever seen any other EHR?? I'm guessing not. Maybe they should see some other EHRs or have experienced providers help them! You also get nickel and dimed on everything even when you pay majors dollars to have the program and have to continue to pay for services, monthly fees, and for every upgrade and added the feature. Their customer support is horrible because half the people don't know what they are doing.

Pros

Nothing. Well I guess I'm supposed to pretend that I like something to move forward, but I honestly cannot!

Cons

Everything from the layout, templates, workflow, e-scribing, how only one person can be in the note and you have to steal it or take it over in order to do your part. I can't even create a note on someone I saw last week because another provider had two charts open on this patient that needed to be finished. AND...I can't even view any of these open notes either even when I am following up on this patient and need to see some things. You have to enter each prescription and send separately. The search buttons for diagnosis, procedures, test, education is horrible. You need to be able to find one thing with multiple names medical and layman, most commonly used. The nurses should be able to put in their vitals and go into medication, history, social, family, etc.....at the same time I getting into the HPI, exam, diagnoses and plan. I should be able to see the entire note, every section, on one page so I don't have to do a tone of clicking to try and see everything. I want to see the entire note. I should also be able to see problem list, medications, and other things off to one side. If someone is trying to open a section I am in it just needs to let them know by saying "so and so is in this section right now do you really need to take it over as it wouldn't save anything." This was helpful with the last EMR I had at my last job as I could even ask the person it said was on if they could get out of the section if I needed them too. When you have a template, you should be able to select something, but still alter it. For eg. if you choose one of the already made master list options you can't even put anything before or after or in between the sentence. Even when entering days or weeks to some of these sections you should be able to free text and even put 2-3 weeks or whatever you need to put in there. It should be very easy to make templates and edit things. Have any of these developers ever went into a medical office to even see how busy and complicated it is. It needs so much work. It is SOO old school!! I seriously am so frustrated, I can't even understand how this business is still successful?? I'm honestly going to spread the word on this program as it is the worst investment ever. Also when running reports it doesn't capture everything. Also isn't very helpful for meaningful use.

### "Allscripts Practice Management Review: Streamlining Administrative Tasks for Healthcare Providers"

June 26, 2023

5.0

I had the chance to watch and engage with Allscripts Practice Management when I was interning at the university's pharmaceutical product development and research department. In order to facilitate effective patient flow, coordinate patient appointments, and ensure proper invoicing and revenue management, the software was essential. I saw firsthand how Allscripts Practice Management's connection with the EHR system sped up data transfer and made thorough patient care coordination possible. We were able to study patient demographics, appointment trends, and revenue patterns using the software's reporting features, which helped with our research on healthcare utilization and practice efficiency. In general, Allscripts Practice Management worked wonders for streamlining practice procedures and enhancing patient care outcomes.

Pros

For medical practices, Allscripts Practice Management has a number of benefits. In the first place, it automates administrative processes like appointment scheduling, patient registration, and billing, increasing workflow effectiveness and decreasing manual errors. The software's user-friendly interface and adaptable templates enable simple documentation and improved employee communication. Electronic health record (EHR) systems are easily integrated with Allscripts Practice Management, allowing for thorough patient care and information sharing. The program also offers strong reporting and analytics features, allowing practitioners to learn important things about patient demographics, revenue patterns, and practice performance. Overall, Allscripts Practice Management streamlines business processes for medical practices, resulting in higher output and better financial results.

Cons

Despite the fact that Allscripts Practice Management has several advantages, there are a few things to take into account. The implementation process can be difficult and time-consuming, and staff members need to be properly trained and supported. System hiccups and sluggish performance have occasionally been noticed by some users, especially when managing huge amounts of data. Limited customization possibilities and particular process requirements could necessitate more development or integration work. Additionally, for small practices with tight resources, the cost structure of the program might be a hurdle. Despite these factors, the extensive practice management functionality and integration capabilities of Allscripts Practice Management exceed these drawbacks, making it an important tool for medical practices.

### "Allscripts PM Review 2022."

September 29, 2022

5.0

It has made life easier for the office staff to print out patient forms etc!

Pros

We like that it has multi functions for scheduling, patient charts, forms and link to the Allscripts billing payer path system.

Cons

That we can not fax or email directly from it.

### "I Wish the PM Was More Seamless With the Clinical Module "

August 16, 2018

5.0

Overall, it works because i have spent countless hours learning the complexities of the system. There are several things i wish they would do to integrate it more with the other software that Allscripts offers.

Pros

Works good. Easy to schedule patients. once you learn the complex system, you have a lot of control over the fine details.

Cons

I hate that it is so different from the EHR. The PM seems like it hasn't changed in 15 years, whereas the EHR has been updated, leaving the PM behind. It does have the stereotypical crashing issues that all Allscripts products do. Very complex setup. You need to be well versed in IT or have a professional IT person to setup the Scheduling templates.

### "Cloud Servers down once again"

April 28, 2020

2.0

The main problem has been the instability of their servers. Once again today, the Allscripts Cloud Server is not working. I have lost, in total, weeks of time not being able to access my EMR over the past several years. All lost revenue, not recoverable, not to mention the stress on the patients, doctors, and staff. Eventually, one has to consider the time, cost, and extreme hassle of switching to another system, which, by the way, carries a very high financial cost for Allscripts to help with the migration.

Pros

Features at point of sale were impressive. Delivery of function extremely challenged.

Cons

Every additional function eg MIPPS, Patient portal, EPCS, etc, laden with multiple extra charges. Very expensive once all functionality is added. Allscripts billing is extremely complicated and has been frequently wrong. It typically has taken months to sort out each billing problem that has occurred.

### "Our expenses for a small medical practice were out of control with Allscripts."

June 22, 2017

1.0

Pros

There is nothing that I liked about the company. I pay the bills for our company and every month I had no idea what I was paying for.

Cons

There is a long term cost for literally everything you want to do or change. Their contracts are so lawyered up they are impossible to get out of. We just terminated our service and we have struggled through with them since 2008. They were our first EHR company. They have now sent me my billing information through 2026. I left a voicemail Monday which as of yesterday afternoon had not been returned. I sent an additional email yesterday in regards to the bill which has not been answered. I also left my cell number since I would be out of the office and so far no word from anyone to discuss our bill. My practice is closing and opening up under a new name and tax ID. Not sure how to handle their bills for the next 9 years.

### "Questionable business practices, go a different direction!"

January 16, 2020

2.0

Overall, we have been with this company over 18 years and look forward to making a change soon. Company does not feel reputable. They lock you into maintenance contracts and require you to pay for items that have been taken out of service. We simply do not recommend this company.

Pros

Software has decent reporting capabilities. Scheduling module is flexible and can be set up in any number of ways.

Cons

Service is slow and horrible. Reports, while easy to run, frequently do not reconcile because of not setting various parameters that the average use has no clue about. Billing errors on their invoices that take months to resolve and require large amounts of time from management to "prove" the errors.

### "Expensive and not flexible "

May 8, 2017

3.0

Pros

Easy lay out and easy to use. it has all the aspects of EHR like eRx, faxing, internal communications.

Cons

If you want support for your equipment, you have to purchase all hardware and software through them at 3 times the cost. We were trying to upgrade and their estimate included "education and training" for 3 years. When I asked to have it either removed or brought down to 1 year since we won't need it, they refused because it's what they think is best for us. Their monthly maintenance fees are very high and any updates I can't do myself, I have to pay extra to them. We were looking to switch to cloud based version but their fee is so high which didn't work for us either. In other words, once they got you and you are stuck with them, anything you want to do will cost you a fortune.

### "Allscripts PM review"

November 27, 2018

2.0

Pros

The one thing I liked about Allscripts PM was the the speed. I could go right in and get to where I needed to be. If I needed to unlock someones account or change someone's password, it was quick and easy.

Cons

I hate how outdated it is. We are in a world where we are spoiled with technology, but Allscripts PM still looks like is stuck on Windows 98.

### "Horrible product"

October 29, 2019

1.0

Bad. Do not buy.

Pros

There really is nothing about this product that I have ever liked.

Cons

So many to mention.... Antiquated software platform - uses microsoft remote desktop. Several login screens, and you get locked out frequently. Reminds me of Windows 95. NOT user friendly They were HACKED last year, which cost our practice thousands of dollars in productivity, not to mention made our lives a living hell!!! There are actually errors within the exam section - anatomic areas are in the wrong place Horrible HPI autogeneration And the list goes on...

### "Allscripts and customer service"

November 9, 2017

1.0

Allscripts does not care about their clients, quality of service or patients. All they care is their vallet. Very sad.

Pros

After 10 years of using Allscripts EHR I don't think that I see any pros Their sales representatives are very quick to send you a proposal for contract

Cons

Very poor customer service, Patient portal is difficult to use: we have received multiple complains from patients. Allscripts charges and overcharges everything; they blackmale customers with long contracts with no services delivered on their behalf. Their sale department is unethical.

### "Allscripts PM is functional and without fuss."

July 13, 2018

4.0

It's straightforward and not time-consuming during the clinic day. It's utilized by office staff and by the billing company without issue.

Pros

The day to day appointment management functions are straightforward and the set up is intuitive. Setting up appointments, moving appointments, looking up patient demos and changing registration is all very simple.

Cons

Reporting functions aren't straightforward. It's best if users have billing experience and the appropriate software to export reports to. My office does not have Excel which would be helpful in reporting.

### "Allscripts EHR and contracts."

September 21, 2017

1.0

Pros

I don't have a single word to say anything good about it. May be the people from India who are on support team with this company are the best. Most of the time they fix the problems.

Cons

It's not physician friendly at all; freezes up all most every day, horrible customer service; and particularly if someone is closing the practice; whether you are retiring or moving out of the state, you still have obey the termination date and either you pay upfront fees to the date of termination and or keep your license active and keep paying monthly fees for no reason. I regret that I hooked up with this company. You pay a big amount when sign the contract and you pay even more when you terminate the contract.

### "Buyers Beware"

January 29, 2020

1.0

Poor

Pros

I enjoy that I no longer have to search for a paper chart.

Cons

The software is labor intensive which requires more personal time to complete an office visit. There are numerous screens that most be completed before you view or complete a simple action such as reviewing patient medications. The software is confusing and is not standardized resulting in complex, faulty navigation excursions, that result in the same outcome.

### "keeps going down"

April 19, 2018

1.0

it seems like every other week, the software goes down or is "fluctuating" as they describe it, some of the practioners and their MA's can get on, some can't. No matter what, when it does start working again allscripts always forgets that there is a LIS that depends on their input. It cost us thousands in LIS troubleshooting when the system was down for 4-5 days.

Pros

I guess it must have been the cheapest option for the providers at the time, while it works, it isn't very user-friendly

Cons

it seems like every other week, the software goes down. They are always expeiencing problems with the "cloud". Every doctor can make their own "short list" but the shortlist items don't update when changes have to made to testing, so requisitions go to "hold" mode

### "Not up with the current times"

July 11, 2017

We have been unhappy, but our Liason Sally Borel came to the rescue and set up meetings to answer our concerns and has kept in close contact with me. She is a big, big improvement over the Allscript liaison that we had before, Maureen. she never returned any phone calls or emails.

Pros

Careplan charting Support Team Sally Borel our Liason Fact that a clinician does not need to be hooked to WiFi to use Med profile more user friendly, still needs tweaking to be able to give to a patient

Cons

Not cloud based Need to sync in order to see documentation Need a server You charge by the license and not by the census Can not use the software on any device HHA care plan not user friendly

### "Buyer Beware"

November 17, 2016

1.0

We are a small three doctor practice. Signed with Allscripts in 2013 as Bon Secours Hospital was contracting with them and offering to subsidize portion of cost. Three years of struggling with customer support issues ranging in downed system to billing disputes. Our bookkeeper hired in Jan 2016 contacted Allscripts in January & was told account was in good standing only to receive a notice in April 2016 that we owed "reopened invoices" in the amount of dollars. We continued to pay current invoices and disputed the amount until they provided us with an audited AR history of our account. They responded by putting our account on hold preventing us from doing business. We agreed to pay the disputed amount out of necessity in order to continue to see patients and generate income. They refused to provide us with an audited AR history of our account to review the charges only providing data in an excel spreadsheet. Additionally, one of our partners is leaving the practice due to life threatening health issues. Allscripts is refusing to let us out of the 2 years remaining on her license.

Cons

They are too big and too impersonal. Impossible to reach out to someone higher up in the company if you are having issues with any department whether it be accounting or contracts. We are still in shock that they had/have the capability to prevent us from conducting business due to legitimate dispute even though we continued to pay them. They can and will prevent access to your records unless you comply with them.

### "Lack of customer service and a multitude of issues including connectivity and third party vendors make this very difficult to recommend"

April 21, 2017

2.0

The turnover within the company makes it difficult to establish a relationship with anyone if there is an issue. Routine failures in connectivity and lack of timely support create severe difficulty with work flow and patient care.

Pros

I have been using it for 7 years so familiarity is about the only saving grace at this point. It is a certified ehr vendor.

Cons

see review title. Follow My health portal was unusable. Third party vendors for additional add ons available for additional fees. I have been told that I will need to pay them for access to my patient records should I desire to switch to another vendor or retire.

### "EHR from hell!"

September 15, 2017

1.0

Terrible customer support. When call for customer support, always have to wait for them to call back. Price gouching, charging extra for everything. Charge extra for what supposed to be part of meaningful use. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN.

Pros

Can create template on the fly, good electronic prescribing, interface with labs. However, every complex system.

Cons

very slow, freeze frequently, error messages. Poor customer support. Every time there is update, we have issues afterwards. I have been using the system for 2 years and it's still creating lots of extra work.
