Used the software for: ### "" July 29, 2013 4.5 We replaced our old EMR with Allscripts MyWay and upgraded to Allscripts Professional. The Allscripts product changed the dynamics of our office in several ways. First, there's our staffing. We still had a quite a bit of paper and scanning, due to the lack of functionality from our old EMR. Also, once we switched to MyWay, a lot of manual labor was eliminated. We were able to cut down on hours of staff needed, and also reassign staff to quality and other measures that helped drive patient volume and patient satisfaction. Allscripts' support is always one call away. It was a big change for us and took some time to get use to it, but Allscripts was with us every step of the way. I would recommend them to anyone medical practice looking to upgrade their EMR or converting from paper charts. Review Source KP Kathy P. Used the software for: ### "" August 1, 2012 1.5 I work for NBMC (North Bend Medical Center) in Coos Bay region, OR. We just implemented Allscripts. In short, it’s been a horrible experience. They outsourced the training to a bunch of recent college grads that knew nothing of medicine or the practicality of an EHR when it comes to patient care. Basically, the training was not substantial because it did not prepare our multispecialty group for the transition. I would estimate our lost production cost in the 100's of thousands. The advertised support is absent from Allscripts EHR. You sign the contract and they disappear. This system still has incomplete data downloads for your referrals, medications, labs, templates, and the CPT/ICD-9 coder does not calculate your work correctly, often under billing. No need to make phone calls and wait times over the phone calling Prescriptions Cons Sometimes have to take additional steps to verify the information was sent. I have worked directly with office managers and physicians for the last 4 years of my professional career and find that Allscripts while a bit pricier is generally the more preferred system compared to other EMRS. Cons The biggest con with Allscripts is debatably more a con of the industry than the software itself. The vast number of companies now offering electronic health record solutions has completely saturated the market and it makes it tougher for even the more quality software programs stand out. I have worked with both all scripts and epic. Both work well in the inpatient setting but I prefer all scripts in the home health setting. Allscripts has a better chronological tracking of notes and overall picture of the patient. Epic has you hopping around trying to compare previous visits/nursing notes. However, anyone considering this system should be aware that the support system is abysmal. My guess is that most of Allscripts resources have gone into the sales and implementation of the product and not enough resources into the tech support. We are having technical issues with various parts of the system "going down" for days to weeks at a time and have been unable to have a timely resolution of our problems. Pro is for practices under 50 physicians and is based on a modern, flexible backbone. We have had PRO installed and running since 2005 and find it to be flexible, powerful and easy to interface. Standard templates are usually not sufficient in any software and we have spent time developing ones that fit the physicians practice. It is also stable and upgrades are timely and usually bring new and better features. I also find the system very easy to use. Cons The Eprescribe and Efax don’t always go through and you do not receive an alert if it doesn’t. We were supposed to go live this morning and now they say we are not ready, even though they were trying to force us to go earlier, and now we have done all the prep and lightened our schedules.
