It has not so many functionalities as Trados for example, but it is convenient and it won't just close and you would loose your work. I really enjoy working on it ! I would highly recommend it to anyone. Pros Phrase is easy to integrate into your tech stack. The API is well documented, simple and reliable. Product Adoption Computer Software Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Really easy to maintain and keep track of translations" November 21, 2018 5.0 We have translated our application into three languages in under 3 months with Phraseapp. We are now able to edit all our content in English without the need of a developer. We have one place for everything and can easily search to make sure wording is consistent across our platform. Pros The in-context editor is really useful for the first leg of translations. From there, the filtering and edibility makes it really easy to keep up with new translations and edit strings. The reporting tab makes it extremely easy to track the work of each translator so they can invoice at the end of the month. No need to keep track of each request as it's all calculated by the tool. Cons The notifications are not yet optimal for clearly telling myself and the translators what needs to be actioned or reviewed. Review Source HK Haris K. They have a very responsive team. This is like a very personalized translation tool. Very user friendly. Transition from transifex has not really been a problem for any of our team member. Cons One improvement could be being able to search a term in all projects- instead of visiting all the projects to find a string. If this already exists and I am unaware - I don't really know. VR Verified Reviewer Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Simple, straight-forward interface for managing languages" February 22, 2018 5.0 Pros Tagging, comments (with @ mentions), translation history, and visibility of translation status were all things that added value to the way we worked with translations. We found that it worked well with the front-end frameworks that we use, and using the API and available webhooks was very useful. Cons Basic operation is easy, but a lot of useful enhancements require a little digging. I didn't set up the initial integration, so I can't speak to how easy or hard that might have been. It gives you all the features you need from a CAT tool and transitions from and into online and offline versions are really easy and efficient. I have never lost data because of connectivity issues between the online and offline versions. Cons One thing I'n not especially keen on about Memsource is its QA process. Most of the time I need to run the QA quite a lot of times before I could submit my work because it keeps giving me notifications such as QA incomplete/unresolved issues, etc. When I run the QA check again, I usually find that the issues I have chosen to ignore may appear as unresolved issues. When integrated with client systems, freelancers can enjoy seamless workflow from assignment through completion. Pros Ease of use. Agencies link their systems with the tool for seamless navigation and management. Can be used online or offline. Client can allow/disable machine tranlsation.. I've been using Phrase for almost 8 years. Pros It's easy for developers to integrate and automate the localisation workflow across platforms. Also, it makes it easy to order and manage translations from 3rd part translation service providers. Cons Pricing can get a little expense for advance features. The MT Engine has its weaknesses. The Bugchecking is somewhat tedious e.g. no bulk dismissal of certain bug types (at least as far as I have found). The built-in spellcheck and QA tools as well as the MT support are key to ensure quality and productivity. On top of that, the notification emails and progress bar are accurate and very useful. Cons I've able to translate with Memsource on mobile devices when needed, but the mobile version could be optimized to provide a more comfortable experience. Also, hotkeys for switching between tabs in the Memsource Editor window (CAT, TB, QA) would be a great addition. Review Source Francis W. Once set up, it is easy to use and is built with collaboration in mind. And it goes above and beyond by integrating with translation services. Lastly, its integration with GitHub is perfect for developers. Ease of use, collaboration, translation services, and GitHub integration is what makes PhraseApp a killer app. Cons PhraseApp took a while to set up properly. There was a little experimentation and digging through documentation before we established a workflow we were happy with. The best part is the product team can edit the texts without the development team participation which makes it easier and quicker to adapt one text. Both teams are very happy with this solution. Pros The main reason to select is there are no limits about how many copies you can create. A feature which I really love is that one called "jobs" which you can use to assign tasks to your colleagues. Cons I didn't find any problem yet. I had some problems when importing nested json file, I lost two translations. But it was just 2 of 2000 and when you go to the locales section is very easy to see there are 2 missing translations. I've imported it again and problem solved so it isn't a big deal at all. Switched from [POEditor](https://www.capterra.com/p/179447/POEditor/) POEditor has limitations on the number of copies you can create, and from my humble point of view, they're very short for the price. I love it. Pros The best part is supporting a new language getting much easier than ever, and reducing the efforts of the programmers enormously. With Phrase we create a efficient work flow, makes importing and updating locale files painless to everyone. It also offers free limited access to students. Pros Memsource allows translators to separate a document, line by line, in order to facilitate accuracy and precision in the translationg and editing process. Cons You must include a large amount of projects in order to build up your translation memory. This makes it difficult to use some of its features until one has completed several projects.
