Cons Maybe, when translating to Spanish could be helpful to add the "informal" use of the language, because it always does it to the "formal" one. This feature makes the translation work easier and much more efficient. Cons The UX of the web version needs to be improved. As this tool is used frequently, there is no need to refer to the tutorial. Pros Memsource is an advanced tool that facilitates work in an international team. No e-mails are needed to exchange comments, which significantly speeds up work on projects. Cons There were a few breakdowns and the job was wasted. I wouldn't imagine how it would be to manage the integration between the copy department and software development without PhraseApp! Pros The ability to approve and disapprove the translations, to copy translations and mostly to have all the language variations for a text grouped together. I use Ruby on Rails and each language has a different translation file, PhraseApp makes everything better to mantain. Cons The lack of grouping and scoping each translation. For Rails applications we can have several translations scoped under time, for instance. Managing translations for models validation messages, with Rails conventions, is also harder to do. My experience with Phrase was having constant reports of issues related with translation before integration, to having almost none after integration. Cons Although it's out of the scope of Phrase, once I dealt with an incident related with translations that had HTML on them. It would be interesting if Phrase would flag these and suggest best practices on how to create clean and maintainable translations. Review Source Przemek B. Translator Translation and Localization Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Pretty expensive platform for freelancers with very short learning curve" July 13, 2022 4.0 Platform is really easy to use and the learning curve is very short. The initial benefits were, however, removed (specifically MT support for free) and now it is not such an amazing option. On top of it the platform is browser-based and so anything you do requires reloading of the window. Some will like it and some will not. Pros Memsource is very easy to get hold of, specifically if you are moving from a different CAT tool. Platform is well-designed, options are easy to find. Cons Free MT support has been removed from the free freelance tier. Payment plans seem very expensive compared to the competition. Review Source Michele G. It's my first experience with this kind of web application and i am not using all the options provided, but my feedback is good mainly because i need something easy to Use... Phrase is definitly easy to use! Pros The thing i like the most about Phrase is that i didn't need to read a long user manual. The tool is easy to use and, without any hint, i started the translation process. It is easy to use and pretty self explanatory. The customer support is great and handles issues very professional. The response times are very good comparing to other services. If you want to integrate PhraseApp into software projects, you can use the API which is very helpful. Cons Managing many projects with a variety of translations could be better as it takes some time switching between projects and then selecting the corresponding locale. It is pretty cumbersome to add a new locale for each project. There is no bulk operation for this using he web frontend, it can only be done via API. Review Source CM Carlos M. Translation process is very easy, you are able to do the job quickly and directly in addition to have an overview of your app's status. Cons It's complicated to distinguis between commercial communications and pendant task communications in my email. In addition, you have the overview of your project status, but you see the whole information, not the segmented one for your country. In addition, as we are an international company, we use parenting to be even more agile when it comes to localizing content. Pros With Phrase we solved one of the problems we had previously. We worked with other platforms and we had a lot of problems with editing source texts. Phrase gives us more freedom by having the branch section so dynamic. Cons As far as I know, the contextual screenshot functionality is still in beta. It would make copywriters' work easier and allow us to give even more context to each key and maintain verbal coherence throughout the user experience. Althought I think it's basic compared to other CAT tools, It's easy to use and it have everything necessary to complete translation projects. Pros Easy to use. Free. Basic, but with enough features to smoothly translate. I joined our product team recently and the onboarding process was super easy. I do not have a technical background and can make changes in our product without interfering in our code. Phraseapp is self-explanatory and the search is really good to find what you are looking for. I really like the verification feature so that someone can always double check your changes. I can highly recommend Phraseapp! Cons At the moment I do not really have any concerns about Phraseapp. The user interface could maybe improved. This would make Phraseapp an outstanding product. Memsource has improved the speed, quality, and professional capabilities of our team in this regard. Pros I was able to deploy this software for a translation project into 10 languages in an afternoon. Our multilingual team aren't translators, don't know what a TM is, and had never used anything like this before. But they were working more accurately and efficiently immediately. Pros It was my first CAT tool and I find it quite intuitive. Clean look, accepts add-ons, has a free version. Cons Me and my colleagues have had instability issues with Memsource logging off or not logging in, but I have not used it recently, so I am not sure if these still happen. Cons It is not the most expensive CAT tool by any means, quite the opposite, but for translators that are just starting and do not get many orders yet it is compromising. Cons As always with online tool, poor access to TM and TB, no possibility to use owned TM's, little control over what's visible on the dashboard.
