Cons Not many features. You cannot review translations, you cannot match strings with similar values. It doesn't respect the structure of old string files so you end up having to write scripts for pulling and pushing. There are conflicts with special characters, and I really didn't find the way around it, i.e. when a string contains html data inside. Review Source AS Andrea S. Pros The interface is friendly and is very easy to use, and I like the most the option of sharing a document with linguists, Cons Payment of MT is a big disadvantage, as well as the payment for time to keep your translation memories. Reason for choosing Phrase First of all the compatibility, cause other options does not have version for Mac. The training for my collaborators was very easy because it is very friendly. Pros I really like the shortcuts it has, and the "Run QA" tool. Cons As much as I like the "Run QA" tool, it sometimes won´t let me "complete" the project as in the translation some other format is needed and Memsource identifies that as an error. I can deliver translations of any size at ease and the app makes that possible. Working with other team members is also easy, allowing for an efficient workflow and communication. I’m happy to recommend Memsource to anyone who is willing to have a tool that’s dependable, versatile, efficient and easy to work with. Cons For now, the experience has been very good. The tool itself is well structured and easy to use. The additional features of the App have been great in supporting the core product. Since the App has a Trial Version, everybody should at least try it once. He had no problems so far, but I heard that the Support Team is really responsive. Cons The UI maybe could indeed get a redesign, but I don't see a big issue in it overall. The current UI is perfectly useable and there are no barriers because of a bad UI. Review Source SA Sérgio A. The text editor is full of features, and it's easy to navigate through the various menus. Cons Outside of the text editor, I feel like there are improvements to be made to the job management pages. Memsource was perfect for my job, and I find it perfect for my needs. As it turns out, there is no more free options, so I am going to stop using Memsource. It offers a good developer interface and even an Android Studio Plugin. The excellent customer support helps all roles, Developer, Admin and even the translators in the different regions around the world. Localization can now be easily integrated into our agile development because its so fast and easy. Cons Adding of screenshots to get the context of the localization could be improved. Everything has become much more streamlined and has allowed our development release cycle to stay on target whilst included new translations. Pros Settings up jobs for specific feature builds on our app. Branching also looks like it will be very useful for our workflow in the future Cons Overall, I found the product to be a little expensive. Cons This is one of the worst CAT tools I have used in my 30 years as a translator. Not enough functions, and those that are included, are not working properly! Something as simple as inserting strings using the F8 key does not work on a Mac, even when pairing it with the fn key (or any other key combinations). The tags also show up as a series of symbols, so translating any strings with tags take forever. When working on texts with a lot of strings, you will spend twice as long on the translation compared to other CAT tools!Finally, their customer department take a long time to reply to any queries. Pros I think I liked the fact that the documents/files are divided into segments which makes things easier to manage and to analyse. And there are many tools to aid translators.
