The ease and convenience for both me and my patients is great, herbal orders are delivered straight to their homes. Pros Ordering herbal products from the Dispensary Tree is extremely easy and accessible from any personal device. If ever there is a problem with creating an herbal order, \[sensitive content hidden\] is punctual in his replies to make sure your order is correctly placed. I also enjoy the convenience of ordering herbal prescriptions for my patients from a dispensary that is highly used by many of my colleagues. This provides me with reassurance that the herbal products sold are high quality and nothing is sitting on the shelf long enough to expired; which is the can for many smaller or personal dispensaries. Cons I do my charting in JaneApp and when documenting herbal prescriptions/orders I have to type out each herb used (Latin binomial and name in pinyin), the amount of each herb ordered, the total prescription weight, the dosage of the product, and when the product was order. Making charting herbal prescriptions very timely. I would like to see the two systems integrated so that this portion of the the charting is linked when the order is placed to save time. There are no comparable products out there that offered the functionality I needed at the price that I could afford, and \[sensitive content hidden\] could not have been more accommodating with customer support. Pros Dispensary Tree has evolved in the time I've been using it and I am so impressed at how much it is constantly improving and innovating. I found the features rich and the enhancements useful. Even though I'm a solo practitioner, my custom formulas look very professional and I am able to manage a pharmacy on my own without spending more time keeping inventory than focusing on how to write the best formulas for my patients.The customer service is also outstanding because \[sensitive content hidden\] personally answers the emails and makes sure that issues are resolved.It also scaled down/up without breaking a sweat. I initially had a partner who shared the pharmacy with me and when she moved on, I was able to use the software by myself and rebuild the inventory without too much hassle. I also like knowing that Dispensary Tree will grow with me if I decide to add another practitioner in the future. Cons When I set up the software, there was definitely a bit of a learning curve before I figured out my process and how to set up the system in order to best support my herbal practice. The training was rudimentary at the time and totally went over our heads until I started using the software more regularly. I used to work in IT too so I figured out a lot of it by trial and error, but a better onboarding program would probably have made the setup smoother.In some ways, it is overengineered for someone like myself since there's only me and my little pharmacy but the software can be used by schools and large clinics. There are so many enhancements that are super impressive but a lot of it don't really apply to me, but the features trickle down. Reason for choosing Dispensary Tree It was an online access database of some sort built by the brother in law of one of my classmates at an herbal program. It was awful but it worked and he charged a flat rate vs. subscription so he got a lot of attention. Bottom line - it was not even close. Review Source CG Camille G. We are working on faster formula builders now and I'm sure you will be impressed. And the DT team have been great to work with and communicative. Pros It has taken so much work off of our hands in terms of entering orders and getting payment, as has freed us up to actually make the formulas. It's also integrated with a shipping service so customers can choose how they would like it shipped. Cons Some things are needlessly complicated. Pricing tiers are based off of grams instead of dollar amount (It would be nice to have a pricing tier where we can offer free shipping or percentage discount, for example, after a certain dollar amount). Raw/bulk ordering: you have to choose from "per day" or "per bag" which is very confusing. Some buttons are small and very close together, even for a person with small fingers. There are also a number of order statuses which are extraneous, and some of them don't improve functionality. I find it extremely reliable and with no downtime. Pros I love this software and wish I had adopted it sooner. It makes keeping track of my inventory much easier and now I order more efficiently and with less waste. Cons Getting my herbal inventory up and running was the least fun part but I understood that might happen. Sometimes, the importing process was a little tedious but everything did work as intended. The ability to save patient files and build custom formulas with the option to ship directly to patients is a clinically invaluable service. Cons No fault of the Dispensary Tree, additional postage fees can add up when shipping directly to patients. Luckily, different mailing options are made available, and so the best option is still available.
