### "On The Stage - We Couldn’t Do Theatre Without Them!"

Why would theatre people want to work with anyone other than theatre people? We wouldn’t, and OTS is the best there is. Not only do they understand the industry at a professional level on down to a small community theatre level, the team at OTS is actively working to make our main job easier - doing excellent theatre. I cannot recommend them enough, and I always recommend them new colleagues in the performing arts world.

Pros

It’s ease of use; ANYONE can learn how to use On The Stage quickly and effectively. From box office transactions to creating events to important analytics, OTS does it all easily. And guess what? If I can’t figure a feature out the AMAZING OTS support teams are always there with an answer.

Cons

Event registration is a new feature, and right now is it the absolute best? No, HOWEVER, given our past history with OTS this system will grow and change based on ease of use. Overall, I have no negative comments or thoughts about OTS.

Somethings are behind a paywall, not able to customize emails for fundraising & each performing can't have their own page on a fundraiser.

Overall, my experience was fine. It was good enough at what it did, but I ended up finding another software that I like significantly more.

Pros

On the Stage was a nice was for my school to test out selling tickets digitally for our events. Creating the pages was fairly easy, if technology is something you're strong at, and you were able to personalize things.

Cons

I did not like that we had to sign a year-long contract right out of the gate. I also did not like how high some of the fees were. I even got charged fees on cash ticket sales AND comp tickets. If I was giving away a ticket to an actor or something, I actually LOST money, which didn't make sense to me.

Pros

What I like most about On The Stage is being able to pass the fees on to the patrons.

Cons

What I least like most about On the Stage is the challenges in creating a seating chart. The videos and step-by-step didn't cover all I needed to know. I figured in out by doing trial by error.

Our first year with On the Stage was great! Quick payments, easy ticketing, great way to collect donations, and having the merchandise available for purchase for our shows was definitely a big plus!

Pros

We have been able to make great, professional-looking websites for our high school productions. It's also allowed us to offer families more options for purchasing and paying for tickets, at their convenience instead of only school hours.

Cons

The seating chart feature takes some getting used to. I had to redo the charts several times before getting the hang of it. Fortunately, the online support is very helpful and responsive

### "Accesssible for Small Theaters "

Overall I've been using it for 2+ years and it's the best free (passed on to patron fee) I could find.

Pros

I love the easy to publish ticket sites and how once everything was set up it streamlined event creation and running fundraisers.

Cons

I don't like that I have no say in the marketing. I would rather be able to customize event/fundraiser marketing while creating the event as just another step. So that when everything is published marketing that is concurrent with the event goes with it. Not this continuously over used trite shit.

Pros

I love how comprehensive the product is for all of our basic needs. The staff is excellent and very responsive to communications. The software is easy to use and the checks arrive on time every time. A+

Cons

I would love to see an easier way to print programs. I have a devil of a time getting the booklets right and I can NOT figure out how to have different size sponsor blocks in the program.

Pros

On the Stage is user friendly. I like the detailed help section that answers almost every question and if not, the staff is ready to assist.

Cons

I would like to have the ability to print a seating chart with readable seat numbers. In addition, I would like to be able to search for a patron using a seat number.

Overall, my experience has been very positive, and I have no intention of changing to another service!

Pros

I love that OTS not only takes care of ticketing, including reserved seating, but includes additional web pages for things like cast and crew bios and show merch. Additionally, setting everything up is relatively easy and self-explanatory for people who are not tech savvy.

Cons

The most difficult thing is customizing our show site. OTS provides detailed specs for things like page headers, but they have never worked for us no matter how closely we follow the specs. So we end up reverting to designes provided by OTS rather than our own custom designs. Integration with social media is a little clunky.

Overall, it has made a lot of the monetary collection much easier. We used it for 3 shows this year, and tweaked our own set up at the door, ticket prices, and I am still playing with entering cast members information and I haven't yet tried the 'showgram' creator.

Pros

It has made a lot of our ticketing processes easier, and the customer support team has been amazing!

Cons

The fees did increase our ticket prices, and in our small town, we had some complaints. Many were fine and understood, but change takes time.

Honestly, the people! I felt very comfortable with everyone I've talked to at On the Stage, and didn't get that same feeling from Showtix.

OTS is the ticketing platform of choice at a great cost. I would recommend to any arts organization.

Pros

Our College switched to On the Stage this past year and we could not be any happier and pleased with the software and what OTS has to offer both for the internal and external customer. The Client Support is Superb with great communication from your account manager. The system provides layouts that make it easy to build events for your next show that look great online and easy to navigate by your guests to purchase tickets. Automated e-marketing which is a plus for all your events and they offer merchandise which is amazing as well as easy to use. All around a great ticketing platform that is easy to use by all.

Cons

I would appreciate updated and more efficient reports that generate from the platform for the shows.

### "Leighton Dance Project LOVES On the Stage"

The autonomy found with this platform is wonderful. In the past we have experienced the inability to finish or edit things in a timely manner because we had to wait on a third party. But being able to have someone savvy in the platform from our internal team to make these edits has helped tremendously! Our industry moves so quickly and we have to change things on a whim. This has allowed us to do those things on a high level without waiting for another company to do it for us.

Pros

When researching the right product to use for our company I came across On the Stage and put it on my list to look into. I narrowed down our selection and scheduled a consult. Right off the bat the welcoming environment of all the team members I worked with solidified our choice. They were inviting, funny, and listened to our needs to see if we would be a good match for each other.After signing on their customer support and our account manager has been able to navigate us through the platform quickly, and make edits with me in our ever changing industry! What an amazing team.

Cons

As always the only feature that we are missing is one that integrates with our current CRM. It is through no fault of On the Stage, but our software will not integrate with the program. Something that would be helpful for performing arts management would be the ability to pull and send reports, cast lists, allow ticketing purchases, etc. between the platforms. We are a dance studio of around 700 kiddos and would love to have integration between these platforms.

Prior to this we have only done the old fashion tickets from a printer that the kids went out and sold. This has really made it a lot easier to keep track of tickets, names, dates, and money. \[sensitive content hidden\] was fantastic as she walked us through this program and they have kept in touch every year with me as we head into our season.

Pros

Ever since we decided to use On The Stage it has really made ticketing a breeze. We have a lot folks who buy tickets for our dinner theatre through this program and it is really easy to see how many people, the history of those who have bought tickets, sending out emails to returning customers, and so much more. The website is fantastically easy to design and build so my students can easily take charge of this task.

Cons

The only complaint we have ever received is about the fees (which really aren't that much). We remedied this by folding them into our ticket price and have had no problems since.

It is wonderful to have emails and social media posts go out automatically. Our volunteers have their hands full with all aspects of production, and the auto marketing is terrific! Also fantastic to know that any questions we might have are promptly and skillfully answered.

Pros

We are a small community theater. On The Stage has been very helpful for us in managing our online ticket sales at a very reasonable price. They are continuously adding new features, have some terrific resources and educational opportunities, and the customer service has always been responsive and helpful.

Cons

While we haven't found anything missing, we haven't taken full advantage of all of the features, as we are all volunteers and learning/implementing new features takes time, which is at a premium. One suggestion I would have is to allow the cast to be listed without character names. We have performances where there are no named characters - cabarets, etc...

Pros

The OntheStage system is a one stop shop for all the ticketing, marketing, and fundraising needs of groups operating on limited resources. It is easy to learn. Easy to implement, and easy to maintain. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and very eager to help you succeed.

Cons

There are some database integration features I wish were possible without third part software.

The customer service is phenomenal.

Pros

On the Stage makes ticketing SO easy - I don't have to worry about paper and pencil ticketing lists and it allows me to make sure I don't oversell the shows.

Cons

I wish the reporting was more user-friendly - I would love to run reports including names, addresses, e-mails, phone numbers, and a list of each show people have attended.

The ticketing part is easy but it still seems to lack features that BookTix had. The registration part needs a serious improvement for it to be useful.

Pros

The customer see is excellent! I also like the ability to host several fundraisers on this site and that the site posts it on social media for you. Also the checking in of the event tickets is really easy and efficient.

Cons

I’m not a fan of the class registration page. On the back in it’s hard to see who registered. I can’t see all the information I need. I also wish it was more mobile friendly. It’s not easy to use this site on the back end on mobile. I wish it had an app.

Pros

The product is easy to setup and maintain as it takes very little time. The process of making sales is clear and easy to setup - as are things like discount codes, coupons, sponsorship perks, etc.

Cons

The concept of having the overall community theater website in OTS is still a bit rough, lacking features most website builders have available. Perhaps my greatest complaint is the lack of an open API to connect names, addresses, purchases and other data to our other systems.
