WS\_FTP is one of the best out there, offering some of the strongest levels of encryption of any FTP programs on the market. It also offers a lot of automation features, such as scheduling backups or performing synchronization. Cons Connecting to a new host can sometimes be tricky, either taking a bit of testing and experimenting with the right connection settings. I spent hours asking for some support to determine and fix the problem to no avail. I finally decided to just use Filezilla since I had it already and it was free. I eventually deleted WS\_FTP Pro from my system. Recently re-installed it and it seems to perform normally. That's OK except for the wasted time on a total lack of support. Pros Fast, when it worked properly. When it didn't it was useless. Cons Customer support virtually non-existent. Once you log into your server for an FTP session, you click to select and click to upload or download. How simple is that? I have been using WSFTP for over 15 years with its updates and upgrades and still my go to FTP client. Cons I really don't have any negative things to say about this software as it hasn't given me any reason to doubt it as of yet. Site management is easy because there is just one file to update to add all your sites. Site by site configuration is very handy. Cons Costs too much. Granted this is a one-time expense, but with the other freeware tools that are out there and using this for a work computer that regularly gets replaced and needs a new license this tool was just too much of a hassle. Cons After using it for many years, it stopped working and I couldn't figure out what the problem was, and I was told I had to upgrade the version. At that point, I switched to filezilla because it was free, but I do miss that train sound.
