Pros I love how robust and flexible the software is for customizing. The developers have done an outstanding job anticipating all types of uses and contingencies that make this software very user friendly. The program can be tailor fitted to individual types of properties or used as a template for many similar properties. Cons I wish there was a way to move batches of photos from one component to another. Sometimes I will take photos on my companion device when I'm in the wrong component. Pros After 15 years of using HG software, I couldn't imagine using anything else. I've seen hundreds of other inspection reports in the 18 years I've been a full time professional Home Inspector and nothing else compares. The look, feel, intuitiveness and ease of use far separates HG from other competitors. I get compliments all the time in the field from those who see my finished work everyday and my referrals generate from a sleek professional looking report. From the software generating reports, scheduling, keeping track of inspections per month, sales revenue, etc. Plus customer service is always a call away, with no long holding times, and get your problems fixed instantly. This software cut my report preparation time in half from the previous software I used. Pros It is a stand alone software. No more MS word macro malfunctions. Great for organization of the data. And the versatile platforms allows you choice of field devises for gathering of the data. Cons The defect comments are note very strong. Pros The layout and how easy things are to navigate. If I have any issue or question the support team is very knowledgeable and helpful. Anytime I have had an issue with the software they have been able to figure it out immediately. The support team is quick and great to work with. They don't talk over your head. Home gauge also manages my website. I constantly receive complement on the site. If I need something changed or added, they have it done in less than 24 hours. The staff have always been more than helpful and knowledgeable whenever I've had a question. Pros As a Home Inspector I have been using Homegauge for over 4 years. I find that once the templates have been designed specifically to my needs it makes the report writing for an inspection very easy and saves a ton of time. I can constantly update the templates to make them even more efficient. Cons The software although easy to work with, can take a little while to get used to and even longer to personalize. It includes report writing and office features. Cons Simple usability updates and corrections/repairs to the software are not performed. Support is difficult to get through to. The company cares more about selling insurance than providing inspectors with a solid platform to operate a business and produce inspection reports. Once your business is set up it is exceptionally difficult to make a transition to another software which makes you feel like your business is trapped. Over the years I have tried other softwares just to see if I like anything better. I have never left HG. Pros I have used HomeGauge since 2008. I love the fact that the software is easy to use and understand it can grow with your business as your Company grows. I also really appreciate the Customer Service, they are very helpful and can get you back in business when issues come up or if you happen to make a mistake. It confirms all areas of the home are inspected prior to leaving the premises. You have the option of conducting the report on a hand held device, loading pictures in the relevant category or using a separate camera and loading the pictures at home. The template can be customized for your input and report format for the customer. Customer service is top notch. Cons When moving photos from one section to another they change size. Pros Their is a lot of videos on how to use the software. making templates at first is a little time consuming, but once you have them made its easy and to write reports. Cons I feel that the dash board is difficult to navigate. Their is so much that can be done with the software that going through all the window is some what difficult. Also it would be nice if you can just adjust inspection service rates without having to add a new service at a different rate then originally set. They have very useful features like scheduling appointments online, and sending contracts for clients to read and sign electronically. The software is advanced and elaborate, you can customize your templates and report styles as needed. The reports are detailed, well organized and user friendly, with both pictures and narrative. Tech support is excellent, above and beyond any tech support I got from other companies in years. Cons The price is a bit high. It's especially tough in the winter, when there's not much work and income. And if you need the NPMA-33 form.(If you don't use it often, you can find the form online for free thru HUD, fill it out and attach it to your report as PDF) Review Source KC Keytauna C. You can access your dashboard on the computer or on your phone. Our clients and agents love it. It makes it very easy for us to get our reports out as soon as possible. Pros This software is very user friendly and home inspectors who are on their own and don't have any staff can figure it out very easily. If you have staff or add staff, customer support at HG is always there to help and they go above and beyond to help you use their product. Pros This is a comprehensive software that provides me with the opportunity to offer an inspection report to my customer that is complete, easy to understand, and generally easy to manipulate. Any questions that I have ever had about this software have been answered by the support team. Support personnel have always been readily available, friendly, and very competent. Cons I’m not using it to its fullest potential and would recommend that you go through some developer training as soon as you start using the product! I don't see changing any time soon. Pros The software was easy to learn and setup. I like how easy it is to modify, add, and revise comments. My customers love the request list feature. Customers also love the layout, detail, and ease with which the reports can be read. Cons Right now, the biggest con is how to fully integrate the Homegauge Companion so that I can begin using the technology in the field to help ease the amount of time I'm spending in the evening writing reports. I want to be able to spend time with my family instead of in my office doing reports and Homegauge Companion is going to be a big part of that becoming reality. The software provides many needs for office use and tracking all documents. Clients can also schedule online if we choose that option. I researched many different report software companies, for about a year, before choosing Homegauge. Cons Any issue I have had, very few small issues, were corrected by Homegauge when brought to there attention. Homegauge even made changes to the template so we could further customize our report. I just use it for reporting. I haven't solve much because of it. Overall, it has been reliable. Pros It is fairly easy to use. I can take payments online Cons Can't import comments from one template to another. Sometimes the emails don't go out to the clients. With all the time i have going everywhere else, it is difficult for me to copy and paste or rewrite comments just for creating another template or learning all the capabilities. when editing images, it would be nice to be able to turn and manipulate the rectangle box when marking a photo. Cu do's to customer service they are always pleasant and professional. Pros The ease of use. I am not a computer geek and I have been able to manage our inspections fairly well. I have received numerous compliments from our customers for our software in the ease of use and the professional format it provides. Pictures videos Drone footage 3D footage, whatever you would like to include in your report can be done with homegauge. I also love the create request list for the client. Cons They have improved the scheduler for multi inspector businesses. I still use the classic scheduler for single inspector companies. it's very very convenient. I have also used the report builder enough to be good at it... Customers tell me all the time that my reports are very detailed. What I like most about the software is the Companion. It is so easy to use and saves so much time in doing reports. Any issues that i have experienced the HomeGauge team has jumped in and corrected the issue and got me on my way. Which by the way have been simple fixes ( i just didn't know where to go to correct them) and very few times in 6yrs! Pros Ease of use and ability to save your regularly used comments for future inspections, saves tremendously on report time. Multiple report layout choices.
