Pros

Very easy to use very easy to change and add comments. Great customer service

Cons

I would love to have on my iPad where I can just talk rather than having to type. And I would love to be able to move pictures around from section to section on my iPad and not always having to go back to my laptop

I use it in the field to inspect homes. it versatile and can be used on multiple platforms, pc. android, and apple. It works well and can be conformed to your method of inspection. Its quick and easy to record the issues found or create new ones on the fly.

Pros

The flexibility to personalize the concerns to fit your needs and how easily it can be completed while in the field

Cons

Concerns need to prioritized more easily so the the major concerns dont get mixed in with those that are minor

It has been very good from day one and have suggested it to many others that do not currently use Home Gauge.

Pros

Easy to use, multiple features, great support when needed, client feedback was good, reliable for the most part, flexible and well written.

Cons

Every inspector I spoke with wants a Wisconsin Template for SPS.131 as these are the requirements for inspection in the state of Wisconsin

Pros

Crl and good looking reports, html, 360 pictures

Cons

It's not cloud based, it takes hours to finish reports. You can't add comments into the auto comments section from new comments written in report. You can't edit pics from the companion. They promised the cloud software would come out over a yr ago. The schedule does not integrate with call centers such as ACC....

Pros

The program is very professional and very easy to use and if you have any questions while using, the Homegauge support team is FANTASTIC and always willing to help /answer any questions you may have. It generates the highest quality reports on the market!

Cons

I have nothing negative to say about the Homegauge software but if you are going to hold me at gunpoint to pick a con, I guess I'd like it to be a bit cheaper.

Pros

Easy to use and great looking reports. High quality pictures can easily be attached right in the reports and they come across very nice! The reports are very customizable and allow me to make them my own for my business.

Cons

There are almost too many features. While easy to use, learning how to use all of the features is daunting and limits how useful it is to have so many. Radon test results are geared toward using their service and do not present local lab results well. Doesn't integrate to DOE for home energy scores.

Pros

I like the way the software puts the report together, and how you could pretty much finish the inspection report using the Home Gauge companion software (using the APP on your phone).

Cons

It takes too long to update the templates!, There is hundreds of comments that I want to show on the General summary and I had to select one by one with about 7 clicks each... It's taking me hours to update just one template.

HomeGauge has been great to work with on the software side and helping set up my website to generate business.

Pros

The software is very user friendly to create custom home inspection reports. It enables you to use pictures in the report and draw on the pictures to help show/describe the problem. The reports are very easy to read, follow and understand for the home buyer.

Cons

The automated statements could be easier to create and revise

Excellent. I highly push the software to other local inspectors. Real estate agents love the repair request list!!

Pros

The software is incredible and easy to work with. The software cut reporting time down to half.

Cons

My last favorite trait with the software is the lack of ability to itemize comments for each components based on the needed repair. For example. I can check that there are an isolated group of shingles damaged from poor install but if I add another comment to the same item then it’s listed as a defect and is added to the summary even if it’s a general knowledge comment.

I'm really not. At this time, I feel like its causing more problems than solving.

Pros

I like the format and final product and photo input.

Cons

Not web based. Reports take way too long. Companion UI is not intuitive.

Love being able to complete all reports on my phone in the field. Saving much time at home and in the office. I've been using homegauge for going on four years and whenever there was an issue support was there to help every time.

Pros

All inclusive, can do all reports on my phone in the field and finalize them at the office.

Cons

What I liked the least about the software was not being able to do all reports on my phone, but they just implemented it recently.

It was more hassle than it was worth to me. I'm a simple guy that doesn't want a lot of complexity. I just want something simple that works and this is NOT it. I purchased another program for my inspection reporting needs.

Pros

Ability to add all photos at once is a benefit that can save time.

Cons

Report writing did not follow a logical process in the program. It's like whoever developed the program had no clue how it would be used by the typical end user. Difficult to customize the program, e.g. adding my own company logo. Creating auto comments was cumbersome and the standard comment lists available were generally not very good. Writing of the first few reports is almost a completely manual process that takes a LOT of time from the user. Eventually, over a longer period of time, it's possible to sort it out and make the setup decent and usable... but not out of the gate. Not at all.

I have had excellent customer service and support from HomeGauge. They have even helped me out of a jam on a weekend. I can't speak highly enough of my experience with this company.

Pros

Ease of use and best customer support in the industry.

Cons

I wish it were Mac compatible, but it is such a great product that I made an exception.

Pros

My customers like it. It's easy to use. Clients can make a repair list from it.

Cons

No search when looking for comments I've created. This takes most of my time.

A large inspection company that I was working for started using it, so I copied them when I started my own company in 2005.

The control I have in what is in my reports and being able customize.

Cons

Learning new software. For someone that doesn't have a lot of computer and software knowledge, it can be 8 Challenge learning new software.

Pros

The software is very easy to customize to personalize your reports. Help and support has always been phenomenal.

Cons

Some features are a little archaic, such as when you want to add multiple auto-comments. If you forget one, it does not space it automatically. I also wish there were programmable short-cut keys which would be a huge time saver.

I am able to easily describe the problems found with colored pictures to allow the buyer to see exactly what I am talking about.

Pros

Ease of use and the best layout to show the buyers and agents the problems found from the inspection. Highly recommend homegauge to all home inspectors!

Cons

I really do not have any complaints. Their customer service has always been able to help when I needed it, making things a lot easier.

Support has always been top notch.

Pros

Like the ability to import photos, videos and 360 degree photos. Like using the scheduler to book appointments and get clients to sign agreements in advance.

Cons

Poor agreement interface between the software and the dashboard. Poor editing of templates in dashboard editor - should have more of a WYSIWIG edit instead of having to use html to create templates.

HomeGauge seriously is amazing. From setting up my credit card payments on my website, to doing my reports on site, to even setting up my appointments, it's all here. And, if you are just starting out, check out their insurance programs.

Pros

This software does everything you need to run a successful business and the customer service is second to none.

Cons

Because this software does everything you need (I still learn new things weekly that can be done), there is a little bit of a learning curve. My advice, take the time to learn it, contact customer service or you can do like I do and just google your question such as "how to add reps to list in homegauge," and I will almost guarantee you that there is a step by step instructional on how to do it.

It's a great tool for reporting. I also use the app to show clients photos of areas not accessible to the client (attics, crawlspace and exterior areas during cold/inclement weather).

Pros

I like using the app on my mobile device to capture data and photos on inspection sites. Saves time on reporting and allows me to be more efficient.

Cons

I wish you could add arrows, circles and descriptive text to photos within the mobile app.

Customer satisfaction seems high and I like customer ease of use.

Pros

You can modify report/adaptability. This can require assistance if you do not regularly modify the software.

Cons

Lowers picture quality. Customer service often “talks down” to me since \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] selling company. Longer wait times for customer service or have to get a “call back”.

Pros

The support team is phenomenal, the software is exceptional and clean. I’ve see. Other inspection reports and it’s a night and day difference. I’ll never utilize or even consider another software.

I wish the mobile software allowed you to mark up photos prior to uploading to the cloud.

I have been using HomeGauge for 10 years and performed thousand's of inspections using the software. I have seen many other report systems out there and homegauge is hands down the best. Awesome product and awesome people. Customer service is A+ all the time.

Cons

None- Any past problem with homegauge has been corrected right away with their support team.

The experience has been excellent, it's a great inspection report product, if not the best!

Pros

It's way easy to use and has a pleasant environment, our clients are happy and when we need customer service they responded quickly and efficiently, nothing to complain about.

Cons

Very coincidentally, the software suffers some crashes or bugs, but it's so rare that I don't consider it a serious problem.
