I like how you can generate the report on the fly with the mobile app, and you don’t have to worry that you’re missing anything. Pros I like the ease of use and flexibility of the software. Cons The online version can be a little wonky sometimes. Reason for choosing Horizon Layout and readability were important, and Horizon was the best. Upgrades over time make custom reports a breeze and clients and realtors love them. My reports have been called the Mercedes Benz of reports. The online seminars and customer service are top notch as well. Horizon makes my company look great! I highly recommend. Over the years the software has been improved and updated regularly without my involvement. The customer service is excellent - an important feature for a one-man operation such as mine. I have received compliments from both clients and agents on the report quality. Although there was initially a learning curve to overcome the report writing time has now become very reasonable. I recently read an online comment about the Horizon software where it was referred to as the gold standard. I fully agree! representative Pros My favorite feature is the off site data storage. Pros Its completely customizable from keeping sections open you use a lot, adding your default notes, arranging the order your canned comments are in for easy use, pictures are removed and stored at a different location after use so you don't have to sift through them again unless you need them, customers love the systems informational guide at the end of the report. The customer support is the best by far from anything i have ever seen. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] is the team that has guided me, a not so computer savvy person with more kind patients that could be expected. With all of the communication along the way I feel like we are friends. Horizon is a team of passionate people that love their jobs as much as we do. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] is all meat and potatoes, direct to the point, love it. You have all mandatory items you need to meet the standard especially by speed write at the end we make sure nothing is missing. It also helps clients and specially buyers to receive the report right away after inspection. I have been using this software for about one year and half so far and I am really happy with the system. Cons I would rather to be able to add videos in some occasions for my clients or to store it in the file for future needs. Also I would rather to pay less, however with the quality that I get, it is worth it. Horizon is continuously improving and growing it's capabilities with little to no monetary increase to the end user. Pros Flexible platform which accommodates all my aspects of inspecting. Residential, commercial, Environmental, and others. This saves me from buying (or subscribing) multiple platforms. Cons The billing is in USD only. All my accounting is in CND. Conversion must be done every month for accurate bookeeping. I would (and do) recommend Horizon to my colleagues. Pros Horizon is pretty progressive - I find it intuitive to use and constantly improving. I am very satisfied and highly recommend this tool to all inspectors. Pros The mobile capability of this software enables the tools to be used as a checklist during the inspection. I value the discipline Horizon brings to the inspection process. Cons The software takes time to master. Early on in its use you can become immersed in then tool and if you are not focused you can spend too much time in the software and loose sight of home performance details. It is also quite customizable but not in an overwhelming way that some other programs offer. Cons The inability to format text (bold, italic, colour, etc.) is frustrating at times and terrible page breaks which make some reports look a bit odd. The action list is an added value for agents I work with. Overall, I feel the cost of the software is reasonable. Pros Having access to the app while at the inspection allows me to enter some information and take photos that are automatically uploaded to the report. Cons There are occasionally some minor glitches with the app that require me to restart the app or my phone. I would like to see pre-written narratives provided as an option for common conditions as this would be beneficial for inspectors new to the software or industry. I also received feedback from a couple of my clients and they are quite impressed with the format and clarity of the inspection report. Pros There's a lot I like about the software. I especially like the fact that it's a cloud based program, which makes it easy for me to access or write my reports from any of my devices, anytime. I take advantage of the mobile application where I can actually add pictures and start building the report while I'm still onsite. It saves me a lot time when I get back to the office. Cons This is only nitpicking but it would be nice if my personal calendar events would push into Horizon's schedule. Reason for choosing Horizon I received the free trial after graduating Carson Dunlop and experienced the ease of use. It simplifies my whole business approach, I don't have to juggle several different programs in order to schedule inspections, accounting, report writing, agent tracking, marketing, payment processing and probably more that i haven't even discovered yet.
