I spending much less time gathering information for reports, entering data and generating letters than with our old system. I appreciate being able to get more done in less time. And I feel that the quality of my work has improved with the help of this tool. Pros I love having the ability to customize the screens based on my job's needs. I'm finding new and wonderful tools on eTapestry every week. Cons The "knowledge base" search is practically useless. It's much more efficient to go to Google, type in eTapestry and my question. April 3, 2018 5.0 Pros It’s a great product for us just starting out with a CRM and moving away from excel sheets and CSVs. Cons \-The forms aren’t truly embeddable but just an iframe instead. It is a point-and-click service that is user friendly, as long as you take some time to learn how to use the site. Creating queries and reports is super easy. They have excellent service reps you can chat up in case you're having trouble. You can track program participation, donors, grants, membership, events, appeals....basically any point of contact with any constituent. The best part: It is a HIGHLY customizable site so you can track the info your organization wants to track, not just what some developer thinks you should track. Used the software for: ### "eTapestry Critique" December 14, 2016 4.0 The system we found very functional and inclusive in all donor and fundraising needs. The record keeping is great and allows you to track what was sent and when and how often. It allows you to find any donor's information to ask them for another donation or a thank you letter. Cons It may be me, but I don't find the terminology very user-friendly (e.g., persona, constituent, roles, user defined fields, system defined fields). There is a lot of training, but I spent a lot of time browsing on YouTube for information, watching the training videos provided within the program, taking notes, and re-watching to glean the information I needed to complete the task. Used the software for: ### "Its okay, but limited in functionality" May 20, 2014 3.0 Pros The vendor is good, and the product is good for what it is, but if you need an all-purpose CRM/advocacy/fundraising program that is fully integrated, then I would look at other products. Cons While the customer service representatives and the sales team are very nice, the actual product is somewhat limited in its functionality. Again, if you need to do everything from peer fundraising to bill tracking, advocacy, and relationship management you might want to keep researching Review Source pM pamela M. Used the software for: ### "the absolute worse customer service ever!" January 30, 2017 1.0 We are a small public garden who recently purchased a 3 year subscription to eTapestry. Don't be fooled by the smooth sales pitch - the service is appallingly bad. We purchased what was sold as unlimited phone support at an additional cost. One month later we still have not been able to get a call answered. When we call there is a message saying we are not entitled to phone support despite the check having been cashed one month ago. Contacted them again this morning - still waiting 4 hours later for help - currently on hold. It may be a decent program but there is no help getting it set up. Buyer beware!!! The vendor offers so many amazing training courses and really set's you up for success. Cons eTapestry is the Jr. version of bigger, badder products so there are a few limitations. Director of Development Civic & Social Organization Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Etapestry is way better then Frontstream/Giftworks" June 21, 2016 5.0 Pros Very user friendly platform, keeps every tidy and organized and makes quick pull of reports a breeze making day of Board meetings a lot easier Cons I wish they had a manual "check box" for individual donations for thank you's to be excluded from the data pull if they were acknowledged in a different way or don't need acknowledgment. The transfer of my old files from previous database did take about six weeks to complete which I thought was a little on the long side and would have liked it to be completed sooner. But now that I have the database up and running it was worth the wait because its light years better then Giftworks or some of those other programs. Review Source NG Nickalaus G. We did experience growing pains which were user oriented. Do the training take advantage of it and spend a little extra. We use it for tracking donations, volunteers, and events! Their merchant services are top-notch for integrating with your website. Cons Reporting is difficult at times, but it gets better with trial and error. I go through the whole rfp and review process each time to avoid cutting corners and making sure we have the right tool for the job. I have gladly selected eTapestry twice for my own employers and recommended it to several other clients as a great starting place for building and growing a quality back office. It is also helpful to do a live webinar because the input from other attendees is real-time and in-depth. Pros The amount of options, training, and customization are extremely efficient. We were about to make our thank you letters exactly like how they were prior to joining eTapestry. Cons We didn't have eTapestry enter our data, so we didn't go through all the proper training. Used the software for: ### "Clunky and old school" November 23, 2016 2.0 Inflexible forms, reporting and customizing along with deal-breakingly slow to load event registration forms with few design options anywhere close to modern standards turned us totally away from etapestry after a 2 year stint. Even the training videos were stuck in the 1950's. Far too unsophisticated for our use. Asked too few and the wrong questions before diving into our data set-up left us wondering what we would get.
