Executive Director Used the software for: 2+ years ### "eTapestry - Great Development Software " September 25, 2018 5.0 This software beats anything else we looked at, cost-wise, and job-wise. Overall, I'm very happy with it! Pros There are so many features and you can do so much with it. If you don't give up, it will do just about anything for you. With the chat options, and instruction available, you can learn to do almost anything you need to do. Cons The set up in the beginning wasn't as cut and dried as I thought it was going to be. Queries are still puzzling at times, but there are options available for help. The data is all there. It's just getting it out in the right format that can take a while... It also has enough depth without being overwhelming to learn. Cons The setup process was painful, and we had multiple billing/delivery issues, which took months to get straightened out. Customer service was lacking in many cases, but there were a few representatives who were very helpful and worked hard to get things working for us. Review Source LT Leslie T. Used the software for: ### "great product" March 21, 2016 5.0 I've successfully recommended (and often purchased, converted and protocoled) this particular tool on eight different occasions. It is easy to use (I can get a volunteer using it within 30 minutes), has loads of great features and is flexible enough to suit a wide range of organizations. While I agree that customer service has been spotty since Blackbaud acquired it, it is possible to request a more experienced person to assist you if you find yourself getting frustrated. We have found every feature to be user-friendly and highly customizable. The customer service support has been excellent at every step of the way. The reports are very customizable and interactive, allowing you to click on any donor in the report to go directly to his/her record. I get immediate response to my questions with little wait time. Cons I dislike the inability to create an organizational template for electronic communication (i.e. Newsletter) that can be saved rather than having to recreate each time or use one of the eTapestry templates. July 17, 2014 4.5 Pros From the very beginning, eTapestry has provided excellent one-on-one support and information, even before we decided to purchase their products! Cons The product does so much that there can be a bit of a learning curve toward understanding and learning how to use all of the features. The ability to save documents, as well as make notes on each donor is very good. They have a great reputation in the non-profit arena. Cons Nothing. The implementation went well. We had a few incidents to get all of the data converted in the correct form, but we were equally responsible due to a scheduling conflict. Review Source DD Derwin D. It allowed us to quickly transition from paper-based donation tracking to a fully-functional online system with performance metrics and real-time progress. Used the software for: ### "Stay away from eTapestry" November 25, 2014 1.0 Pros There's nothing I like about eTapestry. Cons It's way too complicated. It's like needing to be able to engineer an airplane in order to ride in one. It's too expensive for medium-sized companies. If you have a ton of staff that can essentially stop doing their other jobs to spend weeks and weeks studying how to use this product, go for it. It was a huge mistake for us. Review Source TK Tim K. Used the software for: ### "Its like flying a rocket" January 12, 2017 4.0 I know it sounds like a lot of fun ... but you have to have MBA from Blackbaud U to really make it work. If you are a small organization, working with a team of volunteers , or you have low skill employees ... this is not the system for you. (Don't get me wrong, for a large organization with a team of dedicated database workers ... this is the most powerful system out there ... but for the small to mid size organization ... scale back to something a bit easier to use. I compared it to six other donor database systems, and it was the least expensive, which really surprised me. I also like the ease of use and the regular updates. March 30, 2015 4.0 I've been the eTapestry database administrator for about 2 years at my organization. Overall, I find the product to be relatively easy to use and learn. There are lots of options for customizing the product which is helpful for many organizations. It also works nicely with most other Blackbaud products which is helpful in creating a seamless system. The vendor is very supportive, both in the initial training, and in following up with questions from users. I like that I can easily give different users different levels of access to the program. I love that I can send out personalized email updates and it will automatically record that communication in each accounts journal. The program also comes with excellent customer support- I've gotten speedy, in-depth answers every time. Cons The queries don't always find the group I'm trying to capture. I find the queries to be clunky and not entirely intuitive. The program also doesn't have a ticketing module, so I'm stuck having to merge info from Brown Paper Tickets into eTapestry. Used the software for: ### "Good Tracking for Smaller Non-profit Organizations" January 5, 2017 4.0 eTapestry is a good constituent management system for a smaller non-profit organization. Our organization has grown in volume and complexity very quickly. This unexpected growth has made tracking a bit more involved than our small team can handle. But with that said, I believe eTapestry has a great capacity for detailed tracking that would help any non-profit as long as it's set up in a way that allows for growth. Review Source GG Grant G. Essentially, you can adapt eTapestry to fit exactly what your organization wants to do. Cons With the above said, you must be essentially a Ph.D in eTapestry before you can customize it to do exactly what you need. Their terminology, user interface, and site organization is not intuitive at all. The learning curve is massive. Cons I thought the implementation training was awkward. The sales team was great and very responsive. Implementation wasn't as much. You have to be a programmer to use it - it's antiquated and they aren't updating it. Every function requires more money and hours of training... They have great customer service. The support provides prompt responses and doesn't stop until your issues are resolved. Cons A few needs for customization aren't met as of yet.
