Pros

We receive intelligent support and training. The database is very intuitive and easy to follow.

Cons

I love it. However, due to its incredible flexibility and capacity, it can be intimidating to some users for that very reason. (kind of like WordPerfect vs. Word)

In etapestry, I mainly use the email function. Which is very easy to use, and I love the reports I can see. Being able to email our database at large, or in segments, has changed the way we communicate with our donors. It has been so incredibly helpful to see who opens what, and how individuals interact with our emails.

Pros

We're still in the early stages of setting up our database but so far every question I have had has been answered by an online "how to" page from Blackbaud. They have been really helpful for me.

Cons

I think setting up a "household" should be easier. Maybe it is because I am new and still trying to figure out the best way to do it but there seems to be too much manual work to create a joint account.

I considered this software as it was a solution for associations seeking to reach donors, nurture member relationships and track goals. But for the nonprofit I was working with they did not need to nurture member donors as they felt they did that already without this software

This software had many features that the nonprofit I was consulting for did not necessarily need. It is feature rich

It's easy to ask for help, there are DIY forms and lots of report options.

Cons

I didn't like trying to start from scratch (no previous database). It is difficult especially since our core will be memberships that require expirations.

Cons

The dashboard is a little confusing in navigation, and one must take the training to get started. You are also limited to a couple of sorts rather than combining more info at one request.

Pros

I get excited when I get eTapestry to do what I want. I wanted a product that would easily print 'ask' letters based on previous donations and then use that new donation to create thank you letters. It's going to do that easily and neatly.

Cons

I don't think the free videos cover all aspects well enough. I think you need some for people who have absolutely no idea what a query and merge field are.

It's not an intuitive. Customer service doesn't exist. The only help I got wat the support page, but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for.

Pros

I like that eTapestry doesn't charge transactions fees. It seems it has a lot of features, but we don't

I found difficult to use. I struggle every time I need to build a query or running a report. Customer service is not helpful/accesible.

The data is all available, and the constituent records and custom fields have been set-up to our specifications. It seems like the team at eTapestry is committed to keeping clients and offering discounts for multi-year contracts.

Cons

eTapestry feels like it's not as important to Blackbaud as Raiser's Edge. The tool is clunky for casual users, and it is difficult to find/create helpful reports.

This product is very easy to use. It's concise and great for organizations with limited development staff. Anyone can learn the software and use it with ease.

Cons

This product is easy to understand, but the lack of assistance when needed is tough. The solution is an online community of others using the same program, but it'd be great if there was actually a hotline.

It is an easy system to learn and customer service is great! Their classes online are a great tool to use while trying to learn the system and they're free

Cons

A lot of different things to learn, can be a little overwhelming at first. Make sure to take the classes!

Due to its Web-based nature, sometimes there pages take a while to load.

The program makes more sense when learning how to add and track accounts. It is more user-friendly than Salesforce.

Cons

There are some limitations if you plane to grow quickly but for most non-profits it will handle all your accounts.

I like that eTapestry is a cloud based system. I wish it was more user friendly for new users.

Cons

Pulling reports and generating letters can be very frustrating. Trying to pull specific reports can take hours. Not user friendly with anything beyond recording donations.

Pros

It is so nice to have all of your contacts in one place, and all of their donation history saved.

Reports/queries are difficult - when you only run them once or twice a year it's impossible to remember
