July 31, 2022 5.0 In general, the way it has been developed allows us to maintain visibility and transparency in the execution of the project and we can also provide information for other organizational units such as business managers or business users to monitor IT projects without having technical knowledge. It is also very useful in financial management by allowing you to introduce a strong cost management perspective into all execution activities, making sure to keep for example overheads low so as not to exceed budgets. Pros Although it might be thought that open source solutions are only developed with the eventual contributions of community members, without a doubt, project-open has proven to offer multiple ways to manage the execution of a project, including the use of work packages, financial management, maintenance of risk visibility and action based on 100% controlled planning. I consider it a complete, flexible and scalable project management software. Cons From a very general perspective, being considered open source software does not offer any guarantee for its security and support since these products are developed and managed by volunteers, but this is not really considered a disadvantage since it has proven to be really effective in different projects with which I have been able to work. We got in close touch with the developers and even took part in a few roll-outs as junior consultants. It was an exciting time, because the product was one of the few comprehensive project management solutions on the market. After that, the product focus shifted towards ITSM, so we eventually moved to another solution. Pros \]project-open\[ is a modular system, with several different modules that cover everything related to project management. I especially like the close integration with finance, so you can create your purchase orders, quotes, client invoices and provider invoices with a click. Cons You have several options to install the software. When I tried it, some time ago, the setup and configuration was quite hard, but the excellent customer support guided us whenever we needed help. A very easy-to-understand GUI and functionality is good too. but if one wants to add some features of LOC in the existing code, it is very hard to locate the correct location or file to be modified. please provide execution flow or generalize info of each folder(or if possible each file type). Before we were very disconnected from one another trying to manage projects in Excel or OneNote, but now we're so much more productive! Pros 1) The community edition is awesome AND free! 2) There are way more features packed into this software than I was expecting considering the price 3) Setup is simple and it's easy to customize and brand specific to your organization Cons There was a lot of extra features packed in this software than we were expecting. We only wanted to make use of the Project Management package so all the extras make it feel kind of cluttered and confusing but once you customize it a bit it certainly helps to organize the layout. I love the features they have, rating candidates has never been easier. I like the fact you can even upload your own documents to the candidates profile. Cons I don't like the initial set up, they have a one time fee. Its supposed to include, set up, integration, 3 one on one training sessions, and full implementation. I am pretty self efficient, I didn't need much training. Just a few questions here and there. I set up the whole system in my trial run by myself, she offered a few suggestions throughout the training.. but not much that I didn't know already. They didn't integrate any of my old data, and I had to remind them to set up the careers page. The lady was very helpful, I will admit that, and she was very responsive.. but for the price? no.
