Pros Customizability is my top priority because I do things differently most of the time. Note taking is much speedier than a traditional template system and also reminds me of what I'm looking for. My brain is literally in this program. Cons Very difficult to find one because they are so reactive to our needs. The next phase of AI integration is going to work like I hoped it would so I am pumped. Pros What I like most about Praxis is that it learns how I practice. Instead of forcing me into endless clicking, and it adapts to my clinical thinking and style. Over time, charting has gotten faster and more accurate, and I spend less time fighting the system. Pros Super flexible, allows me to create my own unique EMR to match my practice. That leads to much greater efficiency managing patients, taking quality notes, laboratory interface, navigation through the various tasks of med refills, incorporation of lab values into the record in a streamlined fashion. I could not ask for better customer support and value for my money to make my work flow easier. There are lots of ways to interact securely with the patient portal to deliver information and answer questions as well. Because it is customizable, I am able to create a written handout for each patient which I provide at each visit. At the next visit, I can open the prior handout which is easily be updated, so I can provide written instructions for patients with their personalized plan and "to do" list. Patients really love this feature! Pros I especially like that Praxis EMR is customizable. As a primary care physician, I'm able to tailor the EMR specifically to optimize its use in my practice. Also, customer support is top-notch. The Praxis trainer who originally taught me how to use Praxis continues makes herself available for any questions I have. Cons Several years ago, Praxis EMR sometimes ran slowly; however, this was corrected by moving from my office server to the cloud, and since the "C-sharp" upgrade a couple years ago, Praxis responds even faster. It just keeps on getting better and better. Pros The logic of the concept processor which allows me to build my assessments based on the way that I think. It helps me take better care of my patients. Customer service is excellent. I have spoken to the \[sensitive content hidden\] many times and he listened to my input. Price is competitive for an EHR. Cons I wish it had AI embedded in it and they are currently working on it and I can't wait for it to come out to streamline my charting. The EMR itself is great! The support staff have been professional and responsive to questions and gone over and above to assist in learning and setting up the EMR to work optimally for me. Navigating the EMR is intuitive and easy. The appropriate links are at the top of the browser. The value for the investment in Praxis EMR is more than I expected. They are always looking to improve it and grow it to match current trends and new technology so that it stays relevant in a niche that is constantly developing. Pros Praxis EMR is a game changer. It helps me chart quickly, efficiently, and effectively. Completing and closing charts has never been easier. It also helps me stay consistent throughout the complete patient experience as it helps me remember what has been done before for patient's with similar presentations. Cons There is not really a con. Like all EMRs, there is a learning curve. The difference with Praxis EMR is that while the practitioner is learning the system, the system is learning the practitioner. Once you have completed a new chart, it puts the information that you have compiled into the learning and the next time you have a similar situation all the work that you completed previously is instantly available in the documentation for your new patient. I helped them implement my insights, which they asked for. While helping them, i realized how complicated they were. I saw how I could easily fall behind in note taking. My notes with Praxis are all complete about 2 minutes following a visit, including sending referrals and prescriptions. No need to take work home. Pros ▪︎ I choose my own words and sentences which are saved for use in that disease management. ▪︎ Chronic assessments, such as stable hypertension, are already documented in my words. They appear m the chart as unactivated, one click to activate, and the SOAP note appears completed. Updates are easily added. Its quick and efficient. ▪︎ I can copy and paste an AI note from another progrm into Praxis. I can also dictate into Praxis. ▪︎ I can date a reminder to a patient to be sent out into the future. "Your medications refills will be coming due. Please call to make an appointment." ▪︎ The general software layout is intuitive with layered powers for advanced users who maybe doing research on patient outcomes. ▪︎ They release incremental updates every few months. ▪︎ Their training is personable and thorough. They did individual screen share training with each of my employees. Several sessions as needed. ▪︎ My training, as the provider, took longer, at my speed. ▪︎ What I really like about Praxis is that they are only EMR, and not a packaged practice management software with a so-so EMR. So often, office managers and large groups choose those packaged programs by big names in the EMR/PMS industry, who have a robust PMS but with an EMR the doctors learn to hate. The doctors are sidelined by the dysfunctional EMR component, and most physicians don't even realize it! ▪︎ I chose the best EMR for me as a physician and integrated it with the PMS the office manager said was the best. The perfect solution. I'm happy with my choice. I really feel sorry for my colleagues who have to endure another brand of EMR all day and then taking it home to finish notes during family time. Cons I had a mission critical issue for Praxis to interact with my seperate brand of practice management software, which was new to them. It took the programmers a month to create an integration module, from the ground up, which will allow integration with future practices to integrate with ANY practice management software within a few minutes. They provided me with the lead software support direct phone line who was available day and night to me. They hashed out the issues with the support team of the other company. Pros I was with Praxis EMR for 22 years (2003-2024) as a solo practitioner. Praxis EMR made possible my practice to be successful and grow over the years. The design of the EMR is wonderful: Praxis able to learn with every new case and really make you feel that you have a partner who is always next to you to help. This EMR has great value for the money spent with great customer support: reliable and responsive when help was needed. Praxis provides ability to keep timely records of interaction between doctor and patient, patient and staff of the office with reliable medical records security. One of the best features of the Praxis is that it gives an ability and extra time to simply talk and interact with patient while doctor is documenting the chart. We had a Praxis employee walk us through setting up our templates and teach us how to navigate the program and that helped a lot. Overall it is a great program and company. We are very happy. Pros How I can customize it to fit my and my practices needs. Cons It is a little time consuming to get your templates made. But once you have them done it is sooo worth it. The AI engine anticipates my style, speeding up my notes without losing the nuance of each case. The system learns and improves continuously, allowing me to practice smarter the longer I use it. Praxis is completely template-free, which means I never feel boxed in by someone else’s idea of how a visit should go. The support team called and connected my billing and fax and set up my email so I’m set. They are all really responsive, and quite knowledgeable about practices and genuinely committed to helping my practice succeed. Pros After years of struggling with click heavy EHRs that felt more like data entry systems than clinical tools, I finally found Praxis, and it changed everything. Most EHRs I used took lots of clicking, drop-down menus, and difficult templates that have nothing to do with patient care. Praxis is the exact opposite. It feels built for physicians, by physicians. With Praxis, I write the way I think, and the system learns from me. Each patient note becomes faster, more personalized, and more meaningful over time. Instead of fitting into someone else’s workflow, Praxis adapts to mine. It has made me more efficient, more thorough, and most importantly, more connected to my patients. Cons You need to prime the system at first because the AI needs to build and it’s different from the template-based systems I was used to. But now I’ll never go back. I can't imagine what it would be like to start with a different EMR Pros The people who work there seem truly dedicated. In addition, I really like that aren't " prefab" templates. Rather, the user creates his own template from prior similar templates using his own language . there are any number of advantages to this process ( the notes are not stilted, and there's rarely a problem remembering what you called something before Cons It operates like a small company which has many advantages. I've personlly spoken with the doctor who started the company on many occasions. The other side of tihs coin is that the staffing may not always be adequate to the task at hand ( eg system upgrades, new version, etc). Now I have revised the query to generate reports to bill advanced primary care management with social determinants of health which allows me to provide this service for patients and keep my records for audits. Pros Flexibility. Allows a clinic to design it to do a lot of things. It has advanced SQL capability which allows me to run queries on my custom data to produce reports to enhance patient care and services. Cons No dissatisfaction with the EMR. It's easy to use. How great it is to generate information which is required at times by our patients. The EMR is fast and takes seconds to boot up when you begin the day.
