It has always been a boon for physicians but physician assistants and nurse Practitioners particularly in a specialized area of care will find this the most readily customized electronic health record available. Pros This is the program that allows you to express your procedures and visits in the terminology you would use. You can link with evidence based resources and guidelines when needed. " March 20, 2018 5.0 Pros I love how simple the program is to keep track and manage patients and incoming referrals. It even provides you with informative stats. The support people have responded quickly and efficiently to every problem we, or they, have had. I have been able to design my own visits as I prefer. I can add multiple bits of specific information, questions, or treatments with a handful of keystrokes. The product is truly limited only by the imagination of the doctor. Cons You really need someone else locally to do the basic IT setup. Praxis will help and is really easy to work with, but do not send a team of experts out to do the hardware itself. MD Used the software for: ### "Praxis is the best decision I've made for my practice" May 11, 2014 5.0 I have been using Praxis for a over 2 years now and I can say that Praxis has made an outstanding contribution to my practice. I am nearly paperless, and I get labs right into Praxis from both Labcorp and Quest, and they are looking into getting the few labs I send top the hospital connected as well. I would say that my Praxis trainer (Karri) has been no less that exceptional, and they are always there to answer my questions and such. Support has been excellent and they answer within seconds. As far as time, I now get home by 6:30 or earlier and I was suffering until about 8-9pm with my old EHR system. I would recommend Praxis to anyone who is looking for high quality and fast charting. Other EMRs I have seen and used have been written by programmers with the help of doctors. It is a visionary program which can actually allow you to be faster with Praxis than you are on paper. It helps us communicate with one another, reminds us to ask all the right questions, and helps us to never forget what we have to follow up on with a patient. Patients really appreciate that, and it has saved us so much time. That would be what I like best: not having to stay late at the office with paperwork. Cons Not related to Praxis, but Meaningful use can be a pain; just make sure to work with your trainer because it can be set it up so that it is easy and automatic. This is probably their most inventive addition. The tech and teaching support are most effective. They seem to have the best in the business. My partner and I are now learning Version 6 on the internet with an instructor. This same instructor trained me about five years ago, and I am so glad she is still around, like an old friend. Praxis allows them to chart in their own words and in their own way unlike any other program available. Praxis can be accessed through iPads, laptops, desktops, virtually any platform available. I have also seen Praxis accommodate their users' suggestions unlike any other software program I have ever worked with. Cons I can't think of any negatives about Praxis. This model is far superior to other EMRs and is gaining ground day-by-day. It allows physicians to preserve their independent thinking, and this is what medicine is all about. Cons Praxis has survived several presidential administrations and the overwhelming federal regulations that come with them. These regulations have not affected the quality of Praxis; in fact, they pushed the Concept Processor and made it even better than templates. Review Source Michael S. It is an incredibly flexible system that allows me to chart in my own words and doesn't force me to constantly be choosing from tedious drop-down menus. The training and customer support teams are excellent and make the whole process easy, especially if you are not a tech-savvy person like me. Since switching to Praxis, my output and quality of care have increased significantly. I save time and get to see more patients in the day. There is no template, but instead the prior note for a certain diagnosis becomes the basis for the next note of the same diagnosis. This makes it easy and quick to document most notes, since most diagnoses are not new. Cons Tech support is available from 8am to 8pm Eastern time from Monday to Friday. It allowed me to document better, faster and provide better care for my patients. It has allowed my office to keep up with the regulations and the documentations necessary with the changes in the medicare payment model. It allowed my billing company to efficiently receive billing information electronically and start the billing process the same day the patient seen. It allowed me to be almost paperless by interfacing with imaging centers and laboratotries. I cannot say enought about this EMR, I dont know how we did without it in the past. Pros The use of Praxis is limited by your imagination. There is nothing that this EMR cannot do to make my practice easier. It has allowed me to provide better care to my patients, document better and keep up with the difficult regulations that are imposed on us. Support and training has been wonderfull and the team that administers this Praxis EMR company is caring and provide personal assitance. With every upgrade, the system gets better, faster and it is truely better than all the EMRs that my colleagues have. I always finish the notes when I am done seeing the patients and I have access to my notes anywhere as long as I have internet access. Many of my peers who do not have Praxis EMR are not able to finish their charting due to the inefficiency of their EMR system. With Praxis EMR, the more I use it, the faster and more efficient it becomes for me to see patients. With its setup, it has allowed me to keep up with all the regulations and documentation necessary for all the insurance companies. Even my billing is faster and more efficient. June 5, 2014 5.0 Pros What I like about Praxis is how it makes it easier to practice medicine. It makes me faster, but it makes me better. I really like that I can set up a hypothetical case and put in various suggestions for work up and/or treatment and bring that up when I have a case that is similar. This way, my notes continue to improve with time and usage. Also, the vendor has always been very responsive to my needs. Cons The only problem is trying to teach other people to use Praxis. I also like that it is not template-based, and I was able to set it up like I practice medicine, not like some bean counter in softwareland thinks I should practice medicine! With this product, I'm able to customize the program for my needs. Many of the other vendors only offer template-based solutions and charge a fee when customization is needed.
