Overall my experience with Nextgen has been very positive. Support has been great. My sales rep is fantastic.

Pros

I like the ease of use, very user friendly. Practice Management is fantastic and efficient. Billing and Insurance simple processing.

Cons

I think the cost of integrations is a bit on the higher end for many offices who want to use only the PM system with there own EHR.

NextGen Healthcare EHR is excellent for allowing staff to schedule and manage patient appointments. Our organization has also started encouraging patients to request appointments through the patient portal, which has helped improve communication and patient access to care.

Pros

Our organization uses NextGen Healthcare EHR for our primary care clinics. Through NextGen Healthcare EHR, our organization is able to order medications, document patient charts, manage appointments, and process billing and coding for medical claims. The system helps address several key business and operational needs within our clinics, including: \* Billing and coding primary care claims \* Managing patient appointments and scheduling \* Maintaining electronic medical records and chart documentation \* Ordering medications and managing prescriptions \* Improving workflow efficiency and patient care coordination Overall, the platform supports the day-to-day clinical and administrative operations of our primary care services.

Cons

One issue we have experienced with the system is that appointments cannot always be fully deleted when necessary and instead must be marked as canceled. This limitation has resulted in a higher number of canceled appointments appearing within the system, which can impact scheduling reports and appointment tracking accuracy.

Our overall experience is great! We appreciate working with NextGen and the agreements we have head for over 10 years. They have good support and we appreciate working with them.

Pros

The billing functionality is robust and well designed to help our office submit claims, send secondary claims, review and fix denied/rejected claims, autopost payments and so much more for our practices. The ledger helps us track patient balances and be able to send patient statements. It is an intuitive software and we keep notes in the patient charts for tracking interactions and action.

Cons

Some of the menu items are a little more hidden and you need clear instructions to know how to set up provide NPIs and EINs on the back end. Having those locked after setup is difficult for practices that update/change.

Been using it for 7 years with current employer. I have no other experience with any other EMR programs.

Pros

Fairly simple system to use. It does well with integrating our two offices. It allows both sides to access the other side, as well as providing patients a continuity of care between the two offices.

Cons

All updates seem to make the entire system crash in some way. When this happens it seems to us that the help desk has no idea how to assist with the problem, as we can not run either office without our EMR running correctly.

Pros

Nextgen works well in having all of the features you need in an EHR/EMR system. It is nice to be able to easily see the note when sending a claim.

Cons

Next gen makes posting payments really challenging. They do not do well with takebacks at all. If it is a $0.00 payment you can't use the autopost feature.

My experience with NextGen Office has been positive. It simplifies document management, collaboration, and workflow, and the cloud-based access adds great flexibility. While a few features could be faster and integrations smoother, it’s a reliable and efficient tool that boosts productivity.

Pros

NextGen Office is intuitive and efficient, making document management, collaboration, and workflow seamless. The cloud access is very convenient.

Cons

Sometimes the interface can feel a bit cluttered, and certain features take time to load. Integration with some third-party apps could be smoother.

I had an overall good experience with NextGen. Prompt replies and often most inquiries were promptly addressed

Pros

"NextGen was one of the top of the line EHR when it came to converting from paper charts to EMR in our practice back in 2015." "NGO has been solid and but it needs updates to keep current with other EMRs/PMs in the industry. " "Powerful for healthcare practices; once set up, it streamlines patient care and office management effectively."

Cons

"We often find faxes delayed, but NGO support fails to provide any meaningful update during the questionable period. " "Ineffective texting and emailing utilization without the required patient portal. " "It took an incredibly long time to document on a new patient on their first visit."

Horrible experience. I would never use their software again. It has expensive, outdated, not user friendly. I paid a fee to get out of the contract early, and received very tense unprofessional conversations with the staff.

Pros

The software was highly customizable to fit with my practice. We had a responsive customer service experience.

Cons

The value for money was poor. It was much more expensive than we were originally lead to believe. The software had a horrible easy to use. When I logged on before the official training I could not figure out how to write a sample SOAP note. Other software I have used with intuitive, but not this one. The medical practice management was awful. It took an incredibly long time to document on a new patient on their first visit.

My overall experience it was great when it came to a corporation status, meaning larger practices combine.

Pros

NextGen was one of the top of the line EHR when it came to converting from paper charts to EMR in our practice back in 2015.

Cons

One of the least thing that I did not like was that it sometime duplicated the data and it was hard to merge patients.

Athena one was more effective to practice physicians.
