### "The system is very easy to maneuver, it is quick and it is efficient and effective."

November 7, 2017

5.0

Pros

The utilization of the program, the icons and the ease of it. Technology I can sometimes be challenged with this and this program is very useable for the high tech person as well as the less tech person.

Cons

It can be slow depending upon what you are downloading but this could be due to the size of the file. The location of the sessions would be excellent if that could be added as that would be another added feature in the future.

### "NextGen EHR review"

August 22, 2018

4.0

My overall experience has been good. With a little more work I believe they can be a huge contender against the bigger EHR Systems out there.

Pros

Tracking MIPS progress. Also the eRx functionality.

Cons

Difficulty with Integration with things such as referral systems, labs, inventory.

### "Always entering tickets and waiting"

November 7, 2017

2.0

I love the reports. they are very robust and helpful!

Pros

many places to enter data within next gen. I like the ability that templates can be created and used. I like the drug reconciliation. On the PM side, I like the reporting and flexibility. I like the tasking and would like to implement this more. I feel that we have not set up our file maint. as well as we should have been and it would be helpful to review and cont to update.

Cons

due to the many places, the workflow doesn't always work, so to help your product, should offer more training and best practice to help client resolve

### "Overall pretty good"

November 7, 2017

4.0

Pros

I like the functionality and workflow processes. The revenue cycle processes are fairly easy to manage and I like the improvements coming for FQHCs in 5.9.

Cons

Reporting capabilities. There is a huge gap linking data from EPM to EHR. For example, completed order without charges, or in the PM creator of charge not by who processed it but who actually entered it in EHR. There needs to be more integration between the two.

### "I have been working w/ NextGen and NextGen clients for 10 years as a Healthcare consultant"

November 7, 2017

4.0

Pros

I believe NextGen has the best integrated application out there. Having worked with most vendors for the past 15 years I do recommend NextGen to clients.

Cons

I would like to see more functionality within the modules. For example, because the Orders Module is NextGen's best practice for managing labs I would like to be able to pull data from those fields or add additional functionality to result a lab within the module.

### "THE WORST"

February 9, 2018

1.0

Cons

Everything. Sales people are rude. I thought sales are supposed to be polite?? Heaven forbid you ever have a problem. You will NOT reach a solution easily. Likely, you will spend 20-30 hours on the phone, just being shuffled back and forth. When you are finally given help, it doesn't make sense. If you explain how it doesn't make sense and you are reaching X error - there is no response. So, you start again!!

### "Excellent overall vision, fair to poor execution."

November 8, 2017

2.0

Pros

The Practice Management Suite is very good to excellent overall. Connectivity is a plus - interface support is very good. Interoperability is moving in the right direction. Overall support and communication has really improved.

Cons

Usability of EHR is poor. Quality control is fair at best, and not improving so far. The patient portal is not well designed and does not deliver an acceptable consumer experience.

### "Nextgen has been a Great overall Solution for our ophthalmology clinic. "

November 8, 2017

4.0

Ease of use. Standardization of provider templates, while having the ability to individualize when needed.

Pros

The system is very robust on the PM side and now the EHR side is allowing us to see the volume of patients we would like to see efficiently.

Cons

I would like to see easier customizations for the EHR product. I have would like to see the product push upgrades more frequently and include more training on the upgrades when rolled out.

### "excellent and forward thinking"

November 8, 2017

5.0

Pros

integration and frequent updates. This makes it much easier to certify for meaningful use and other governmental programs and much easier to help our aco in their reporting and performance goals. This demonstrates that nextgen is interested in growing and improving.

Cons

too many ways to get to the same destination. There many tabs and click options to get to the same destination or perform the same function

### "The worst system I have ever used."

June 15, 2017

2.0

Not a very good system, mediocre customer service.

Pros

Doctor is happy with the electronic health records but the administrative side is the worst I have ever used.

Cons

Very inflexible on the financial side. when a mistake is made, sometimes, there are many steps to correct the mistakes. For example, refunding a credit card payment, if a mistake is made is impossible. Applying payments is also very cumbersome. The worse thing is a receipt with all the charges can not be printed for a patient until the claim has been submitted to the ins and the patient's payment is applied.

### "Disappointed"

March 31, 2017

2.0

Our data migration ran three months behind schedule. The tech team promised us but could not deliver. We had to pay thousands to outside technicians to manage the project. Training terrible...you have to work through tutorials. Trainers would not give you time and help you need. I was told only two sessions are allowed ..which barely scratched the surface. It is hard to maneuver. Lot of glitches.. too many to list

Pros

Cloudbased Competitively priced

Cons

Poor training and support Difficult and repetitive navigating Some features do not work as promised too many clicks

Response from NextGen Healthcare

April 24, 2017

Thank for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that the Data Migration timeline did not meet your expectations. Our team worked diligently on the project to meet your timeframe, however, due to the quality of data received, large number of people involved in the project, missing information, and speed at which files were produced from your prior vendor, this proved to be challenging. It appears that your practice was active in training for 4 months. Our typical Implementation lasts 6-8 weeks with 2 live sessions each week, in addition to our online resources. I have contacted you via email to discuss training and arrange additional sessions to ensure you are comfortable with all aspects of the system. I look forward to speaking with you. - Sarah

All thumbs up to the PM side of MediTouch! Having both sides of this program creates ease in our practice management and patient flow. Being able to see the schedule and open the charts creates the best communication between the staff and physician. The ability for the physician to code each chart individually and having it ready immediately in the claim status dashboard makes our claim processing much faster than the paper claims. Tracking and working the claims from the system and having the ability to contact customer service for help is the reason I prefer this system to any other. The worst thing you can do is fight the insurance company and then have to fight with the clearinghouse just to get through the claim. The clearinghouse is one of the best ones I have worked with in a long time and the updates are done over the weekend so we do not loose time working on our claims. The spreadsheets and different reports help the staff keep on top of claim management better than any other system I have worked with. The important thing is that this program is all Real Time. We can verify insurance through the portal and know if there is a problem prior to the patient getting placed into the back to see the doctor. The process of implementation was fairly quick. The longest part was waiting for the insurance company to actually get the information back to our clinic for the actual "Link" to the clearinghouse. The fact that the software is set up and monitored for all the different changes in CMS, we always feel informed and ahead of the game for the different changes that are coming down on the clinic.

### "NextGen is very customizable and users quickly learn it."

November 7, 2017

4.0

Pros

It is very customizable in all aspects of the application. We are able to create templates to use that they do not have that are specific to our practice. It has a nice look and feel. Not too busy as some packages are.

Cons

There are preferences to set that may be difficult to figure out what they mean. And, because you can modify templates, users think you can go ahead and make any changes to please them.

### "I use EHR as a pedi NP and have been pleased with the updates to pediatric specific templates."

November 7, 2017

4.0

Pros

I like the ability to save and apply quick notes. I also like the ease of use of the immunization module

Cons

I dislike that there are so many places within nextgen to document the same thing. I also dislike the number of clicks required. It would be incredibly helpful to have the ability to document more information on one screen. Also, having to close pop up HPI boxes to access lab results is very frustrating.

### "The integration and use of the systems are excellent."

November 7, 2017

5.0

Pros

Easy to learn and use. Came from a non-clinical background and had the PM side mastered. Helping other clinics with teaching and wrote training guides for our practices incorporating the best practices of NextGen.

Cons

Really there are few cons to the product. If there is an issue, just get in touch with support and they help you resolve the issue. Recall after ticket submission is a matter of a couple of hours.

### "Good experience since 2006"

November 6, 2017

4.0

Pros

We first started on the program in 2006, at that time we customized some of the templates to adapt to our multi specialty workflows. We appreciate that Nextgen has stayed up to date with requirements and anticipated what workflows have been needed. Easy workflow

Cons

For us losing some of the ability to continue to customizing has been a problem. However, the anticipation of what was needed helped with that.

### "Ok but going downhill"

August 8, 2017

3.0

Some features are fine, but some like e-prescribe are bad enough that we are actively looking for a new EMR and don't expect to stay with Meditouch much longer.

Pros

Versatile and customizable; reports can be very comprehensive and useful and can be run on many different subjects.

Cons

Difficult to navigate and not at all intuitive -- it takes a lot of clicks in random places to accomplish most tasks. The worst is the e-prescribe feature, which is unreliable and is often pending for 20 minutes and then will randomly fail for no reason, leading to a lot of calls from unhappy patients waiting at the pharmacy. Meditouch support is remarkably unhelpful with this and support in general has become much worse ever since Healthfusion was taken over by NextGen.

### "Excellent support for any questions or concerns I have "

November 8, 2017

5.0

Pros

NextGen has done an excellent job at implementing a new success community that provides ease of use for any questions I may have. NextGen is always able to assist me with any regulatory questions I have about MACRA/MIPS.

Cons

NextGen did not have spell check in the system which was a complaint of our providers for years. In the current NextGen version that was just released the system now has spell check.

### "We use EDR/EPM and it has helped alleviate all of our paper charts which has been piling up."

November 7, 2017

4.0

Pros

Recall tracking in EPM is great because it automatically generates when a pt needs to come back for a recall appt. EDR has helped a lot because we no longer have paper charts and its much faster for our providers to do their charting.

Cons

EDR does not pull up patient estimates if they have private insurance so my asst's have to manually figure it out and it takes them at least 5-7 minutes to do this.

### "Overall very good."

November 7, 2017

4.0

Pros

It is integrated, touching all of the different things my clinic needs to do from patient encounters and scheduling to billing and quality improvement.

Cons

The newer add on technology is more expensive than my small clinic can afford and there are little errors that can be time consuming to deal with on the user end but aren't always urgent enough for the NextGen developers to address in their upgrades.
