Pros

What I like most about this software is the HQM Portal and the ability to see the missed opportunities. Patient Portal and Patient Engagement is effective. The ability to run reports is easy and very customizable.

Cons

The thing I like least about this software is when upgrading you potentially lose all customization's. Performance at time is slow .

Pros

We like the capability to customization templates and also be able to get to the database to run reports

Cons

not user-friendly at certain templates. When having a functionality available, sometimes it did not carry forward till the end. Such as when providers can view certain data, it would be nice to be able to allow them to pull into their notes.

the ease of being able to navigate and use this software makes it great to train new employees and have other people pick up the use of the program very quickly

Cons

I don't really have any negatives at this time before it was trying to get a support person the phone but that was corrected and now its a breeze because we have our own support person

Switching from the paperworld to electronic has made everything easier since there is no need for so much paperworld floating around or getting lost.

Pros

From the software I enjoy that it has improved drastically from 5.6 SP1 when we first joined NextGen

Cons

The least I like about the software is the amount of clicking that needs to be done across the panels in order to meet the coding.

Meditouch is a great software that gives you an entire suite of products at a reasonable price. I mainly use the billing software which has its own integrated clearinghouse. This helps increase acceptance rates with insurance companies and offers immediate feed back on submitted claims. It is a great software and would recommend any practice to check out the free demo.

Pros

Ease of setup and cost.

Cons

Not able to do hospital billing.

I am the office manager of a small, single physician, pediatric office. When we were getting ready to open our office in the summer of 2011, we decided to have a demo of the HealthFusion product. It seemed to be a perfect match. We purchased the PM and EHR products and begin training on the system immediately. By the time we saw our first patient in August, we were ready to go. The PM system made those first weeks of opening a new practice easy. Since we have used the product from day one, we did not have the transition to worry about. The ease of use of the product has allowed us to reduce the hours of support staff, saving the practice money. The billing side of the PM is very user friendly and allows the billing dept to quickly process claims and handle rejections and appeals. Being a pediatric office, we have discovered that we needed some "special" things out of the program. We have contacted customer support and always received wonderful customer service. They take our suggestions and ideas seriously and implement them when they can. A good example was the way the weight was displayed on the encounter. The program would round the weight down to the nearest whole number. As an adult, the extra 14 oz does not have an impact on the meds prescribed. On an infant, 5 pounds is much different than 5 pounds 14oz and does have a huge impact on the course of treatment. When Customer service was contacted about this, they immediately made the change in the software and we were able to see accurate weight the next day.

Pros

The software is great, but you have to know it to let it work for you. The software has a good customer service with the community success when issues arises..

Cons

It may get convoluted in areas such as the diagnosis codes and problems module. The issue can come from work flow, but issues with known issues I feel like is not address accordingly.

Pros

Ability to customize templates to the needs of the office by adding requested information for the providers.

Cons

Does not seem to be created by people who actually use the software. Updates seem to be addressing a lot of previous data needs that were missing.

The new inbox workflow in NextGen allows you to see patient information without having to open the clinical record. You can see the appointments, medications, problem list, alerts and diagnosis on the patients

Cons

In some of the templates, there are numerous clicks that are required to meet the quality metrics for reporting requirements.

Pros

I work Mostly with the billing department. The claim process is very user friendly. Knowledge exchange is easy to look for user guides when we are not sure on how to do something.

Cons

Upgrades are hard when we are very customized. Pain Managment is not a specialty that is thought about when building this product

having to recreate all the templates after upgrades and having to pay so much for a nextgen expert to come out to help us out and at times they are not knowledgeable with everything we need.

Reporting capability.

Pros

Easy to use and configurations all of which are customizable. It's great to be able to report on fields and have the capability to make the changes to the system if needed.

Cons

For some it can seem as though the clicking on radio buttons, picklists etc can be time consuming. It's easier for users who are technically savvy.

I like the ability to create templates and customize to the request of the end user. This also comes with a lot of work to maintain, but is necessary for our business.

Cons

There are many tools and addons that are delivered by third party applications rather than being integrated directly into the software.

Pros

Web based. Can use with iPad, Windows, etc. iPad friendly. Prescriptions easy to send electronically.

Cons

Hard to look up diagnoses. Medical/surgical history hard to add. Problem lists cumbersome. Makes scheduling and billing harder not easier. Labs cumbersome to reconcile. Hard to view labs and documents. Many, many other shortcomings.

Pros

The end usability has improved tremendously! Our Providers are stating that their are less clicks with their documentation. The attention to detail for FQHC's and CHCs has also greatly improved.

Cons

There is always more than one way to document within NextGen. Thus complicating best practice workflows and creating lazy documenting habits.

Not much to like about NextGen Population Health. I've been assigned to work with this application on a couple of projects in 2017 and oh my god was it giving me a headache. Not many positive aspects I can list to be honest.

Cons

Honestly, where do I begin? Let's start with something basic. Just searching up medical history would return many results that have nothing to do with what you search for? Tons of little bugs and mistakes that need fixing.

Pros

Easy to use and the ease of training others in my clinic make it a joy to use and would recommend to other clinics. The font is an good font to use and the ease of moving around the system is great. The upgrades are great and I enjoy working with my sales team. this product is easy to teach my staff and doctors. I would also like to let other clients know that for the price and all the one on one care you get from the sales staff is great. My doctors enjoy using this product and the ease helps clinic flow great.

Cons

Customer service can lag sometimes. The upgrades are always occurring so you have to stay on your product to make sure you are on the most current system.

It is so multi faceted. lol. I think it makes it hard for them to make all specialties great with the ever changing reporting requirements.

reporting is too restrictive, limited fields available make reports less useful and it would be great to be able to report by exclusion

Cons

We have had to customize quite a few templates for our specialty to meet our physician needs from a workflow perspective. Limited EHR reports but abundant EPM reports.

Pros

There is not much to love here. See below. This is literally the worst EHR on the market. A better name would "1990's-Gen". NextGen definitely is a misnomer.

Cons

\-Inefficient. Requires multiple clicks (4-5) more than competing software to complete the same tasks. -Glitchy. Often an RN will take a message and task to me, and the message will simply disappear. I had a patient run out of anti-seizures meds because of this. -Slow. Often freezes/lags in the middle of a chart, requiring you to wait for a minute or two. This is with a dedicated fiber optic connection and quad-core computers. -EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT. Once the product is sold, no one gives a shit about you anymore.
