It is for lack of better words - clunky. The user interface is not too inviting and the templates unexciting.

Pros

Constant Contact was first on the scene for email marketing. It trained marketing people like myself the ins and outs of creating an email message, uploading contacts, and hitting send. It has always been reliable and delivery is the name of the game.

Cons

The templates are dated. The templates do not have a lot of openings for being creative and looking 2022. Formatting and adding images is not an easy task. For the novice or non-graphic person, I am sure the software is more suitable. I need better design capability. It is for lack of better words - clunky. The user interface is not too inviting and the templates unexciting.

As a graphic designer, I have been using Constant Contact for almost 15 years. I've done several monthly e-newsletters, events, advertising, and announcements for several of my clients' businesses.

Pros

Constant Contact is very easy to use and has become an invaluable tool for a number of my graphic design clients. It's use has increased sales, spread news and increased fundraising efforts. It is a quick and effective method for users to increase business.

Cons

I don't really have any cons at this time.

Constant Contact helps our small business to grow and reach potential patients on social media. It helps us reach an unlimited number of potential new patients and helps us stay better connected to our current patients as well.

Pros

I like how we can stay in contact with our patients in a variety of different ways. We can send out campaigns for specials we are having and keep our patients updated if there is weather or illness related closures.

Cons

Integrating this software with our current patient software took a little bit of creativity and work, but once we had it all figured out it was a great fit.

I'm happy with Constant Contact and we just renewed for another year.

Pros

Email management is easy to add/remove addresses, whether that's by me or those signed up. I love the social media scheduler feature, I'm able to schedule posts to go to multiple platforms from one program.

Cons

I miss the calendar. There used to be a calendar that integrated into Outlook so I could see all of my scheduled campaigns. It developed a bug that it's not working in Outlook. It was nice that I didn't have to log in to see if I had anything scheduled for the day.

Overall for a general email system I enjoy using constant contact.

Pros

Constant Contact is overall easy to use and update as your company needs. The support is very helpful and always able to assist with my questions.

Cons

Some of the features are limited in regards to customization. Also there are a number of emails that default to end users spam files so our entire contact list does not receive emails.

Overall a great product, easy to use, and functional. its minor limitations are countered by functionality, reliability, and the features it offers. The price is sometimes a turnoff when compared to other marketing email providers. CC offers easy to use templates that are almost fully customizable. Lots of extra features including campaigns, events, registrations, sign up forms etc. There are plenty of HELP menu items and tutorials. Love that there is no limit on the number of emails sent monthly. Overall a great go to product!

Pros

As an email marketing solution, CC fits most small to medium business owners needs with plenty of easy to edit templates, branded emails, newsletters, calendars, event apps, and website integrations. Additionally, business owners can set up events and registrations via the app. The templates are easy to use with varied options and designs. For more experienced handlers, HTML is available to set up templates. Emails offer clients and recipients the opportunity to opt out or stay tuned while landing the emails in their in box rather than their spam filters . Analytics are a plus and helpful to see what works and what doesn't in an email campaign. CC also integrates social media platforms. Overall it is a great all-in-one marketing tool.

Cons

While the software is generally easy to use, it is not intuitive and does on occasion produce glitchy results from missing images to random changes in text, font, and email structure. I do like the tiered pricing structure, although find CC to be far more expensive than their competitors. One of my biggest complaints is the placement of images - it doesn't really allow flexibility in design - if you are ok with their more cookie cutter template designs then its a 5 star - but the ability to place images becomes tedious and reduces the functionality. Overall the program is a go and worth the expense even if the image placement issues are annoying.

What I like most about this handy software is the user-friendly interface and guidance that allows even newbies to manage their email marketing efforts.

Cons

I personally feel the price point is too high and could probably be cheaper.

I've been using Constant Contact for over 5 years, and during that time have only had to contact their tech support a handful of times. They are easy to reach, helpful, and quick to respond. I've even recommended the software to my mother, who sends out a monthly newsletter for her woodworkers group, and she's been most pleased for the 4 or 5 months that she's used it now.

Pros

We've been using Constant Contact for over 5 years, and are consistently pleased with the results. Creating e-mail newsletters/campaigns which work seamlessly between desktop and phone displays is an easy and user-friendly process. It has a robust set of features for breaking down your database into various categories, and the reporting statistics are particularly detailed.

Cons

The only negative I have, and this isn't necessarily with the software itself, is that it does not have a Zapier integration with the case management system we use in our law office. It's worth noting that it does have a multitude of Zapier options, so I believe this issue is on the side of our cast management software.

Constant Contact was a great tool for us while we were getting started with our email program. It's reasonably priced and easy to use and makes users look very professional. We just outgrew it and needed more in-depth marketing information so we've moved on.

Pros

Constant Contact is very user-friendly. With little to no training, users can easily create professional-looking emails. There are many templates to choose from and they, again, look very professional. It is perfect for businesses without designers on staff. Another major advantage is the pricing...it is SUPER reasonably priced.

Cons

A couple of issues...first, while I understand the need to manage contacts and spam issues, they can be unreasonable with blocking you from sending emails. People unsubscribe and claim you are junk mail even when you aren't...there's nothing you can do about it, yet you still get dinged for it. Second, you are limited in how much info you can see about users. We switched to another program that provides a lot more visibility into what users do, including linking to web pages visited. This isn't a fault of Constant Contact, it's just not a service they offer. Finally, be aware that there are a lot of challenges if you are sending to a lot of users with Outlook. I know that Outlook is difficult to work with, but many if not most business users use Outlook, so templates and emails have to display well there. It's a challenge with our new software as well...I don't know if anyone has really cracked the Outlook solution yet.

It goes through all the social medias Tik Tok Instagram Facebook you name it to get what you need out to promote your business

Cons

It's not too much I don't like at the end of the day you get what you paid for if you don't want to spend a lot you still couple more and make money to get more out of it

Absolutely horrible

Pros

They have a fantastic idea but find it someone else.

Cons

Their support and you are just a number there. I had trouble importing contacts (which I paid someone else to fix). Customer service was supposed to have the premium support package because of the number of contacts. If this is the upper tier support I can't imagine how they treat the small contact list. Let me just say this wasnt just one attempt. We tried for weeks. It just shouldnt be this hard. Where I went to took me 2 days

Reason for choosing Constant Contact

More of the realtors used this product but the support was sooooo bad I switched to iContact. The funny thing was after all the nightmare and rude people I got they tried to bring me back, I set up an appointment at 7am PACIFIC standard time and they never called. Then about 40 mins later a nice lady called and argued with me about the time being 8:40 MOUNTAIN standard time. What irony. I ended up being super happy wh the new place having just sent my 2nd email blast out. SOOOOO happy I didnt stay. Watch out though, they charged me for my SMS (text messages) which never got set up and they won't refund. Not that much money but its the point of their service. BEWARE

Great. As mentioned in the title, we switched from using Active Campaign to Constant Contact.

Pros

It's very user friendly and intuitive. I could set up an e-mail blast/campaign within minutes from just a first time use without having to watch a video or learn about the interface.

Cons

It would be great if you could schedule out or separate audiences for e-mail blasts based on location or time zone. I think the other work around is to manually separate different contact lists.

### "Closed my account without notice or cause, customer service is friendly but poorly trained"

This was the worst experience I have ever had, with any company, for any reason. It set my company back days of work. Do not use Constant Contact.

Pros

If someone were able to use Constant Contact without ever contacting customer service and if they didn't have a reputation for closing accounts, their interface is adequate for its intended purpose. It's possible to send E-Mails that appear as they do in the editor and their statistics for E-Mails that are actually able to be sent are presented well.

Cons

I spent 2 hours and 47 minutes on the phone waiting for their "deliverability team" to answer a question about SPF and DKIM and bounced messages, over six calls, before I finally gave up. I was never able to get in touch with anyone who know what he or she was talking about. I figured out the answer myself through a Google search hours later. When I signed up for Constant Contact, a salesperson called me to upsell their services and asked what industry I was in, so I told her. I used the service for a month and spent hundreds of dollars to have my employees investigate their API. Eventually, I complained to them about their poor wait times and someone called me to apologize. I spent 25 minutes on the phone with her and she told me I would get a 25% discount and they would get back to me about that in a few hours. After a few hours, instead of a discount, they sent me an E-Mail saying my account was closed because I was associated with an industry where I might send spam. I had only sent one message in the history of the account. That's after I had told them before what industry I was in, and after I was helpful to them for 25 minutes of uncompensated time to tell them what was wrong with their customer service.

Pretty good, similar to other products, ultimately I did not continue with the product only because I had another CRM that I am so entrenched with and Constant Contact was not being utilized to its full potential.

The fluidity of the software, ease of use and customer support

Cons

Aside from getting set up and a slight learning curve as with the implementation of any software solution, there isn’t really anything cons that I feel strongly enough to mention. To each their own.

I'm happy with it -- I've used it for 14+ years.

Pros

There have been many improvements over the years, and the functionality, for the most part, works really well for our need. We're sending 3-4 emails out each week. Layouts look nice and are easy to update, and mobile/desktop designs look good.

Cons

There's been an ongoing glitch with misspelled words, where you have to manually edit them (the system will delete the entire paragraph if you try to click on the red line to autocorrect). That gets frustrating.

Overall, my experience with Constant Contact is mostly positive. After nearly two years of using the platform, I have gotten used to what I would define as the quirks of the platform and have found a rhythm building and sending monthly newsletters. There are things about the platform that I don't like and would change, but in general it is an easy platform and allows businesses of all sizes to easily connect with their audience on a regular basis with many integration options.

Pros

Constant Contact is a relatively easy platform to learn and use. Uploading contacts, built in reporting tools, and many integrations give business owners tons of flexibility to streamline their marketing processes.

Cons

While the platform is relatively easy to use, it does come with its quirks. When building email newsletters, it would be extra convenient to be able to group layers into blocks and then duplicate the blocks to make building faster and more efficient. I would also love if Constant Contact recognized shortcuts such as undo, redo, etc.

Pros

I like the ability to create branded bulk messaging quickly and do all my editing right in the platform.

Cons

They changed the platform over the years and now you have less control. You used to be able to change the code right there in the email builder, even when using templates. Now you can't. Sometimes it is easier to change little things like colors or text on single words in the code but the template builder limits you and if you want a change that like, you often have to create a new block of text.

I don't use this product as much as I had hoped. I can get some support, but many times it seemed the answers to my questions were kept behind a paywall. I already pay a subscription and other expenses to get here, so why not help me stick around? I don't have time to take classes, webinars, and watch tons of videos just to use the product. This was supposed to make my business tasks easier, not throw another job in my lap. I'm not bitter. I just feel that the interface could be more user-friendly. I may have to switch when I have time to find a more suitable product.

Pros

I like that CC has features like multiple campaign tracking, customizable templates and such. There seems to be places to add a lot of detail and make adjustments. That is the problem.

Cons

For someone new to the platform or someone who is not tech-savvy, it's hard to figure out how to get things the way you want them to be simply and easily. I would prefer a simple and easy-to-follow graphic way to complete tasks with another layer that digs deeper into the details if I want it.
