We also use it to send emails to our employees because the segmenting tools make it easy for us to send specific messages to specific teams to make sure they are getting the most relevant information. I manage the subscriber lists which is easy and I also build the campaigns using the drag and drop editor. Pros Constant Contact is easy to use and easy to build out for whatever you need. It's extremely customizable and the support team are really quick to respond. We are able to segment exactly how we need to, and I love the reporting features that tell us all the data we need to know after sending out a campaign. I also love the A/B testing options so we can continue to better our campaigns. Cons There are a few things about the drag and drop editor that are a bit clunky compared to other software that we tried out, however, it is still really customizable. Users with coding knowledge can use that as a work around if they experience any issues, but knowledge of code is not required at all. It gives you basic functionality to meet all of your needs with room to grow with the platform! Pros Constant Contact is a great email platform for users who have a database of email users and are sending out monthly newsletters or segmented emails. While they are a little behind with custom options and creating complex automations, they are in the processes of developing and launching new features and tools that allow more complex automations / journeys. Cons Currently, the platform has limits with automations. The builder is also somewhat limiting for designers, but is robust enough. When sending email campaigns, I can select which group to target instead of sending it to all of my leads. Their analytics is very clear and easy to understand. They provide tips to improve campaigns and stats to measure your effectiveness on each campaign. Cons I wish this platform would have more innovative features to make more powerful campaigns. For example, adding videos or gifs. I usually design my campaigns on Canva and then add it in Constant Contact as an image because their designing tool is very limited. It will also be very useful if they would add a link for calls as they do to direct people to websites and emails. Pros Constant Contact is really easy to use - it's features of templates, integrations and customizability for automation and sequences is a real boom for businesses to maintain customer contact - to stay on top of mind and influence their behaviour - while not taking too much time doing it - is awesome. The list management features of tags help you slice & dice your lists to ensure that they are catered to with great customized message. Cons It can get really expensive for very large lists, especially when compared to various newer alternatives. The editor can at times be frustrating as you cant fix a small niggle like a space between elements and the test email looks different from the actual broadcast email. List management features like a dashboard with data & analysis of the list of the number of people who are frequent viewers, frequent clicks, non-openers, etc are really useful to take a look at what is happening to the list & its health. But, if we find a software that can allow us to have multiple customers to a single email address with the same features as Constant Contact...we will switch. Pros What I like most about Constant Contact is the automatic email features. With this feature I'm able to send out greetings and reminders automatically, as scheduled. Cons My biggest downside with this software is the inability to have multiple customers on one email. Our company sends out reminders and birthday greetings. With this software we can only send a birthday greeting to one family member in a household and not to each member, unless each one has their own email address. This creates a problem for us since children will usually not have their own email address. So, with this issue only one member will ever receive an email from us through Constant Contact. I have addressed this issue along with other users. We have been told that this is not a fixable problem, since they track customers through email addresses and only one email addresses can be assigned to a customer. Pros You can manage contacts lists well, and templates are fairly easy to make. It does what it is supposed to, essentially. Cons Constant Contact is so clunky! In a time when branding and design are so important, it's a bit odd to me that big companies continue to use this software. Creating templates is easy, sure, but customizing them has limits. Furthermore, it's very easy to get lost in their interface as it's unclear and there seem to be plenty of irrelevant functions and links grouped together under one drop-down at a time. Once I learned my way about it it was okay and yes, I could then teach others how to use, but it's nothing to write home about to be honest. Pros In comparison to some of the industry's newer & more appealing dashboard-derived options, Constant Contact just can't keep up. It's a mainstay in marketing and social media sectors but I am not totally sure why other than companies whose marketing departments are grandfathered in to using it. If you need help on anything, they have the tutorials and rep who are always ready to help and teach you. The price is so reasonable and they also reward you for promoting the application by giving you credits. But to me, what got me sold is the insight features that helps you improve the way you do email marketing. I used it mainly for newsletters and building my lists when I got started with affiliate marketing. But I only used it just for a few months. Cons The team is not good at all. All they want from you is to buy the product and keep paying them. I've had an experience where I wanted to cancel the subscription but I couldn't find a clear button to do that. I contacted the support team regarding that and they told me to first get on a call and only then, the plan will be downgraded or canceled. They do what they do very well and offer a solution that is easy to learn and adopt within smaller organizations. I would definitely recommend it to small businesses or non-profits. Pros Constant Contact has a very clean interface and a dashboard that makes it easy to navigate and learn. When compared to other solutions like Mailchimp, I found Constant Contact to be more intuitive and simpler. Our client was able to adopt it quickly where they struggled with other solutions. Cons Constant Contact's List set up is not very robust and is somewhat limiting. Their email builder is very structured as well, which can be good for some, but can be difficult to navigate for more custom email builds or email builds that leverage dynamic content. The feature set is very rich and while it can be a bit more complex than competitors like MailChimp, it is the best-in-class solution for those needing broad control over their email content and easy delivery. Pros Constant Contact is an easy to use bulk email online service. You have several templates to choose from and all of them are customizable. Designing everything from an invitation to a complex newsletter can usually be achieved within just a few minutes. Tracking email opens, clicks, and other metrics is equally simple. Getting basic business intelligence about trends in email activity is also easily accomplished. Customer service is fantastic. We have had everyone of our cases resolved quickly and easily. Cons Constant Contact can be a little fastidious about unsubscribers and spam reports. The customer has very little control once a recipient has either unsubscribed or reported spam. They can’t be emailed again. Even if you are able to reach the customer and convince them to resume service or the customer made a mistake, it can be very difficult to re-enable their service. Exporting your data is simple, however, Constant Contact itself doesn’t allow much in terms of integration with other software’s. It’s all export/import. There are a number of developers that produce plug-ins for individual programs, but they don’t always work properly. You take your own risks with those. Everytime I consider finding a lower price option, and one with a simpler interface, I realize that there are many features I'd have to abandon. They really are the leaders in the field, and I just have to make time to keep on top of frequent upgrades and enhancements. Pros It literally can do everything someone could want, and more than I can even learn how to do. Cons I have the frequent (or so it seems) interface upgrades, where I lose efficiency trying to learn a new system. I also dislike how difficult it is to deselect a list from a mailing. Cons If you want to keep a contact but they do not wish to receive emails from you but may in the future you cannot have a contact in the system without belonging to a list. It is very user friendly and we are very satisfied with the emails we are able to send using the service. Our customers look forward to our communications and this has improved our customer relations. Pros Constant Contact is simple to use and an excellent tool for connecting with customers. I can navigate with ease to create new email campaigns and upload new contacts. The stats it shares about the emails is also very helpful to gauge customer interest. I also like the survey feature. Our team loves this to reach our customers and I don't know how we managed without it. Cons Overall, I am very happy with Constant Contact.
