Our email campaign and overall site traffic has increased since implementing. I would definitely reccommend it to anyone looking for an email marketing service. Pros I love the constant contact platform. It's very easy to use and allows for seamless email marketing creation and distribution. Managing multiple lists is super simple. Also seeing the diagnostics of who reads the emails and where they click is super helpful when campaign building. Cons Sometimes the templates can be a little finicky. However, there are work arounds that are shared via tutorials and forums. Which are very helpful! It is now requiring PayPal accounts to pay with credit card which our guests do not like, but WePay does not integrate with Quickbooks, so event registration has just become a LOT more work. December 21, 2021 5.0 The e-mail service is simple, easy to use service. I love working with Constant contact. Pros I like that it is simple software that is easy to use. You can make e-mails look nice and send it out to lists quickly. I like that you can create multiple lists and add contacts easily to those lists. Cons I don't like that as an automated e-mail, this often gets lost in people's junk mail. I don't know if this is an easy fix, but I wish there was a way for us to make sure it went into everyone's regular mailbox. Review Source WV Will V. So easy to navigate and I liked the experience. Pros I liked the many different templates they offered and the ability to customize them if needed. It even lets you splash in some HTML if you wanted to which I liked. Cons I didn't like the cost. For email marketing and being a small business owner I didn't like paying a lot of money that I didn't have with a new start up. Also they updated to where we can now upload more than 5 images for free. Good contact list management with tags. Cons I'm not sure about the latest templates, but the ones I've worked on are responsive, which I'm surprise to see how behind Constant Contact is to other competitors. My biggest issue is their templates are very restricted. I have no way of adding @media queries into CSS. Some codes get ignored or deleted, and there are so many issues with bugs in coding in Constant Contact that haven't resolved for YEARS. Others are complaining in online forum, but those issues aren't taken care of. For example, bullets get converted to asterisk. Their templates before my edits came back with bugs and issues of display in Outlook. Had to contact customer service. The person was nice enough to work on coding with me, but I have lost so much time. The issues were solved, but then the other part that was working fine wasn't the same with the new fix. Also, I have noticed that they updates systems/functionalities occasionally. This has caused breaking my existing templates which I spent days fixing bugs so it displays over most of email clients. It makes it very easy to send client newsletters and manage out marketing efforts. Pros We love to use Constant Contact to send out our quarterly newsletter as well as other updates for our contacts. It's extremely easy to do that and to manage our contacts. The customer service is also great. Cons It is difficult to learn some of the new features that would lead to further automation. We feel like we are not getting everything out of the system simply because we aren't aware of everything. It also has low restrictions on qualified email contacts. So we can upload any email list and sent them an email. We don't need a attach a separate SMTP server as it provides in the package. Pros I love their easy to use interface, especially their email builder. I can say it's a best of its kind basic level email marketing + automation tool. There are many features like auto send email to non-openers without creating any segments. August 29, 2019 5.0 Pros We signed up with Constant Contact in somewhat a state of desperation, after having no luck with other platforms to do what we wanted them to. We were looking for an email marketing platform that would effectively take our data and create merge fields that worked, had the ability to segment lists, and also provided detailed reports including who had opened it, who had not unopened it and had the ability to re-send with one-click to everyone who had not opened a specific email. We also wanted a platform where we could create our own customizable template that still had a professional appearance. Constant Contact did all this for us, and our customers have been commenting on how the communication we're sending them "looks professional, has a consistent look, and always has relevant content". We couldn't have achieved this without Constant Contact! Cons The one disadvantage with Constant Contact is that anyone that has the same email address is merged into one contact. This has been a small issue for us where we want to keep both contacts names even though they have the same email address. We have been able to work around this by asking all our customers with duplicate email addresses to update their email address. Reason for choosing Constant Contact It had more capabilities and the price was right. We are a smal organization with under 100 recipients. We have the basic subscription due to price. When we demonstrated the product during our free trial, we had access to all the premium features which are very good but we can’t afford the cost to upgrade. We still have issues with getting the newsletter to people who don’t have email. I text the link to some but there are others who don’t have smart phones or internet. Printing does not work well at all. It takes a very long time to get the formatting to look good and to fit it on the page correctly. I don’t bother with it now and those folks get left out. Pros Easy to use, easy to learn. The best feature in the basic subscription is the campaign creation tool. It’s not as easy to use as Power Point or Publisher or even Word but it does the job. Cons Campaigns do not translate well to print projects. We send a weekly newsletter by email with CC, but we still have some folks who don’t have email or internet of any kind or even a smart phone. We would like to print a copy of the CC e-newsletter and mail it to these folks, but haven’t found a way that looks good or is easy to do. July 10, 2018 5.0 I like to be able to customize and easily send mass emails to our database. This is a great and easy to use software that does just that! Pros I love the fact that Constant Contact is so easy to use. You can build and design an email that can easily be sent out to your whole database or just a selection of unique people from your database. We have built emails about fundraisers, important information, upcoming events and more. It is easy to create and I like that they have options to change colors and designs. I especially like the fact that responses can come directly to my email. As well as people can easily unsubscribe if our emails are not being well received. I also like that I can send a test out to see what it will look like. Cons Our package with Constant Contact is limited to two users. This makes it difficult for multiple people to check it out. Cons Overall, with attrition/unsubs, the company is not flexible when it comes to reality of "dead accounts". Meaning accounts that will never be reached or see your emails/campaigns because of spam blocking or other email filtering device, lowering the number of the actual reach from the email list. Therefore you continue to pay an inflated price for amount of emails you import/export. We have received wonderful feedback from the communities we serve on the content we are able to create and share. The templates are easy to use, engaging for the user and provide a great service for our team and stakeholders. Pros Constant Contact allows our team to manage various cohort groups for different types of marketing, newsletters and surveys. In an office that works with staff, faculty, students and many community stakeholders, this customization is necessary for our success, and saves a lot of work! Cons It's been hard to discover something we do not like, but we had hoped to determine a way to customize newsletters with multiple branches based on the user interacting and their membership/access within a pre-defined group in our contacts. At this point we have not been able to set up something with that much detail and customization.
