But I have become accustomed to building emails outside of constant contact with an HTML builder and importing the code in. Constant Contact handles this well. I just have to make sure to include the preheader in the HTML code.

Pros

I use Constant Contact for client marketing emails. One of the features I appreciate is the ability to resend emails specifically to people who do not open your first email. This is a feature that’s easy to utilize- you just set the day/time and revised subject line. I also appreciate the ease of segmenting contacts and Zapier integrations.

Cons

Nothing specific comes to mind that I dislike.

The worst company Ive ever tried to work with from a support perspective- Look elsewhere for an alternate- DYOR

Pros

Nothing. Owing to the inability of the support team to fix my issue. I emailed at least 5 times over a two week period with ZERO response. In fairness they have returned my payment as I received notification from my bank. but no email or any communication to tell me this has happened

Cons

The customer support levels are appalling. If you live in Asia, then look elsewhere for a solution

I use constant contact to manage membership, agencies, committees, and workgroups.

Pros

Constantcontact allows me to easily create and recreate templates for mass emails, which I send regularly. I can embed images, documents, and links without using any outside software which is a big plus. I love the ability to tag and send messages to groups.

Cons

I wish that this software had better options for getting individuals signed up for different mailing lists. While we are able to set up easy sign up for our newsletter, for example, we send out information to subgroups, committees, and fully different groups and it's just not as easy as it could be.

Pros

I absolutely love how easy Constant Contact is! The templates they provide are so cute and different and are great for any holiday! Being able to schedule emails months in advance is the best thing ever and a huge time saver!

Cons

We have a large number of clients in our database and the contact section can be a little overwhelming sometimes. I do wish it was a little more easy to sort our clients into different lists but still not a deal breaker from using the software.

Pros

In the 8 months I've used their service, I've found that all of the templates are mobile-friendly and can easily adapt to different screen sizes. Furthermore, each template comes with placeholder text that gives me ideas for what I could include in the template. This is especially helpful for me when I'm feeling stuck for ideas or pressed for time.I also have access to hundreds of customizable templates and layouts with Constant Contact. No matter what my preference is - whether I want something bright and eye-catching or something regular - there is a template for me. Plus, I can use the search bar to easily find templates that match the requirements of my campaign by entering keywords.

Cons

Pricing is my only complaint. While the initial plan begins at $9.99 per month, the cost increases quickly based on the number of contacts you have. For instance, if I were to grow to say over 5000 subscibers, the base plan would cost me $80 per month. In addition, some features, such as text marketing, are add-ons and require an extra fee to use.

Simple and straight-forward to setup and it was very easy to copy old campaigns and re-use them to a new audience. We had a standard template that we would use and just copy to the next event.

Cons

Paywalls and contact limiting. Once you hit a certain amount of contacts they up-charge you.

I've used Constant Contact for more than 10 years and found it very effective in our email marketing and registration needs. The interface is very intuitive and it's a short learning curve to be able to create a project. We love the versatility to use Constant Contact for email newsletters as well as event registrations that can collect fees via credit cards. Constant Contact continues to keep the software up to date, without making wholesale changes to the user interfaces.

Pros

We use Constant Contact for e-mail newsletters and for meeting registrations. The set-up process for both is intuitive and while it takes a little time to fully master, is allows great versatility in what you can provide.

Cons

I was disappointed to learn the upgrade in the online editor for email newsletters removed the ability to edit the HTML source code. Still, the upgraded online editor is very useful and covers the essential functions needed to craft an attractive newsletter.

### "Constant contact has questionable business practices"

Constant contact is a despicable company. After I started my monthly subscription they mentioned I could use their logo design to create a logo and apply it to my email templates. I had issues with the logo maker and contacted their customer support. They quickly responded and said they were on the matter. After that I received a an email update saying the matter had been escalated. After no news for 48hrs I sent out an email asking for a status update. They had made no progress on the issue. They made no effort to keep me updated as to their progress. After three weeks the issue still had not been addressed so I decided to cancel my service. They charged me five days before the next billing cycle (on a Saturday) but I could not call them that day because they were closed. I called the following Monday to cancel my service and they refused to refund my subscription cost even though no service had been provided. I mentioned the sales representative told me I could lower my account to a lower tier on this same date so why can you not provide me a refund? The representative answered "you could have lowered your tier but you are not, you are cancelling. We are a no refund company". Since constant contact only allows cancellations by phone, and they refused send a cancellation email until the following month, I could not dispute the charge with my credit card company. I can only assume this the normal course of business form them to prevent charge disputes for their shady business

Pros

There was nothing I liked about this software.

Cons

The software was not intuitive. They offer a 30 minute demonstration call to get you accustomed with the software if you pay for the $45.00 a month plan. The customer service representative called me 10 minutes late and only spent twenty minutes on the phone. In that time I was barley able to get an understanding of the basics.

Pros

We've been using Constant Contact for a number of years for our email marketing efforts. The interface is easy to use, although a bit glitchy at times, and I have seen a number of platform upgrades as well. I like the ready made templates available which come in handy when needing to put together an email quickly. The analytics provided are good, although I can't comment on how robust they are given this is the only platform I have ever used for email marketing. The addition of some email automation has been nice as well. Also, the recently added inbox previews has been nice to help tighten up subject lines and formatting.

Cons

Sometimes I've noticed the interface can be a bit glitchy when building an email. The buttons used for changing background color and making edits can be elusive at times. I also don't like how there is no search function for finding sent emails by name. I know you can filter emails by date sent and categorize them in folders but it would be nice to be able to search by an exact email title.

Sending out weekly emails with current lists that Constant Contact will update based on our previous sent list.

Pros

Very easy to create, send and keep track of mass emails. I like how we can get a new list with every email of who opened it, clicked a link, unsubscribed etc. really helped us weed out regulars vs. those not involved based on how actively involved they were with our newsletters. Also helped us get a better list of active emails vs. old emails with their reports on bounces, marked as spam, unsubscribes etc.

Cons

So far, I have not had any issues. The emails are send in a timely fashion, they look good with the templates we picked and we are having more people every week click on our links which is helping us see what is useful in our newsletter vs. what can be taken off since no interest has been shown.

Through Constant Contact we can create email templates, send mails and track campaigns from any place. We can create email templates (without Code) using drag-down feature, Landing pages and signup forms. Also we can connect our social media account and start running campaign with the same platform.

Cons

Constant Contact doesn't have feature to track spam score. Reporting and Analytics are basic.

I had a positive experience with Constant Contact and would recommend it to others who have growing contact lists to manage.

Pros

I used Constant Contact to manage my growing list when part of my business included an educational subscription-based product. Planning a campaign including initial messages through all of the content was much easier with this platform. The analytics helped me determine which parts of my messages were on-point, and which ones needed to be revised to achieve more engagement with my readers. I really like the pre-scheduling aspect of Constant Contact, and also the attention that it pays to things like avoiding spam-y headlines and ensuring that messages are compliant with unsubscribe rules and the like.

Cons

Sometimes the simple association with Constant Contact turned off readers who had seen it used improperly. They would avoid opening my messages if they determined they were related to Constant Contact at all. Otherwise, the software itself was great and helpful.
