Pros Constant Contact makes almost all aspects of email marketing streamlined and easy to do. The automated email function is much easier to set up and operate than competitor platforms. List, contact, and asset management are all well designed such that they work without issue and save time for the email marketing manager. Cons It would be ideal to have the ability to edit template HTML, even for just small edits. I highly recommend Constant Contact! Pros Constant Contact has come a long way in the past few years, with the addition of new tools and UI, helping it keep up with competitors such as MailChimp. The drag-n-drop email designer is great, with integrations such as social media, Woocommerce, and more. Overall, Constant Contact is easy to use for email marketing, better priced than the competition, and is a great tool to manage all of your email contacts. Cons In some sections/features of the site, the interface is a bit clunky and can be a bit difficult to figure out what you're trying to achieve. The social media section in particular is a victim to this, and isn't as intuitive as some other platforms. Pros They provided tutorials on how to create your own customized templates, so you don't have to recreate the wheel every time you want to send a recurring email that needs a uniform look, such as one with weekly appointment openings Cons It autosaves all the time. While this shouldn't be a problem, when it does this while your composing your email, you get a save error and have to redo/retype whatever you were doing while it was trying to autosave. It does this at least once per email. June 14, 2018 3.0 Pros It is easy to use, if all you want to do is upload a bunch of emails and send out. Sure you can segment a little, but nothing close to other tools that were created more recently, or updated. Constant Contact does offer many templates, but again if you send templates with these designs and that many images, deliverability is so so. Cons It's inflexible, unable to take a list and break it out into segments easily. Automations are not even applicable here, but basics like good tagging and following up on visitors is missing. While you can segment your list, this software is still stuck in the old days when opens and clicks were the sole measure. Plus they don't pull in extra data to give you a better idea of your contacts, like social media presence. Review Source Josh K. Pros I went to a local free course offered by the company and they taught us several tricks. They run courses free sometimes, other times you pay a small fee. Creating an email (from a template I created and saved) to sending an email takes minutes. Other than it lacks certain bells and whistles, I've had no issues using the program weekly. Pros CC makes it easy for new users to set up contact and create their first email. Pre-designed templates are a great benefit. Pick a template, change the images, add text, add contacts, click send! Uploading contacts is as easy as importing a spreadsheet. Cons Creating your own default template is nigh impossible; it can be done with some cumbersome finagling though. Design elements are limited and changing the theme should be easier with more options. I have also used for event invitations, surveys, and webinar invitations, so it's a fairly versatile platform. I do prefer it over Emma, Mailchimp, etc. Pros I evaluated three different email management tools before landing on Constant Contact. While most platforms are fairly similar, I thought CC offered the most professional looking newsletters and were easiest to build. One of their designers designed a template for us to use, and I highly recommend going that route if you aren't a marketer or designer and find yourself sending out emails for your company. The templates look great and are super easy to customize. Cons I sent out a few events invitations and didn't find them to look as good as some of the alternatives. The wysiwyg email editor works well and very user friendly. email tracking and reporting was well-done and very helpful / informative. If you have a vision for the look of your email campaign, you may not be able to achieve it because their builder is so limited. Pros Constant Contact provides the basic analytics that you need to monitor an email marketing campaign's progress. They're easy to understand and I appreciate that they showcase metrics (like opens and clicks) in percentage as well as whole numbers. Cons The email builder has limited design features and is extremely finicky. There are only a few font choices, you can't upload background images without them becoming a tile pattern, the spacing often comes out looking odd. Plus, there's really no way to make an email that looks decent on mobile. Constant Contact's templates always look terrible on mobile in my opinion. Review Source Shawn B. Creating emails and templates is a breeze. It has great analytic options. Cons It’s a little glitch with editing. There are a few limitations especially when trying to insert a video. This software makes it so easy and I can see its use across all industries. Pros Ease of use- it is a breeze and actually fun. Lots of functional uses and just a breeze to create something quickly and creatively. Time is money and this software saves me HOURS and HOURS and therefore more than pays for itself. My customers love it- particularly when I attach photos. I can send out a post and within minutes of delivery, I am getting phones to put something aside for a client. Great investment Cons Nothing really- I like it all. I have never felt like it was missing anything I needed and it is so easy to use. Constant Contact was one of the first and remains one of the best. Pros 30% off for Nonprofits , I always like to see these discounts - shows you that the company cares! Constant Contact was one of the first email automation solutions and remains one of the best. Several of our clients use and love it on a daily basis. There's plenty of support, WP plugins, other tie-ins and documentation for most of what you'd want and it's easy to use. It's has been and will continue to be one of the email solutions that we recommend to our clients. Cons There are some limitations with their auto-responder but not everyone uses or needs this feature. They have a good library of email templates but would still like to see some new ones. The system allows me to store sufficient data and create multiple groups to send messages to. The system also sends communications quickly and offers some basic metrics to track efficiency. For my needs, it checks all the boxes. Pros I am a writer, not a designer, but I frequently need to send newsletters that appear professional and polished. Constant Contact makes it easy to format content into an aesthetically pleasing format without a ton of effort on the part of the user. I can easily plop in images, text, and the like, and the system will automatically center, figure out spacing, and all the other things that make the message look neat and clean. Cons The footer on the end of messages is more noticeable than ones from competitors. It is very clear that messages come from Constant Contact once you scroll to the bottom, despite the sender info and subject line making it appear like the message came directly from an individual. It does seem more spam-y than other messages, but the ease of sending to groups makes up for this in my opinion. Reason for choosing Constant Contact Constant Contact was more affordable than other products. While competitors offered more bells and whistles, Constant Contact offered exactly what we needed at a price we could afford, without a ton of up-sells. Review Source Carlos Aogusto M. In my experience, it is the best tool for email marketing compared to others I have used. Pros It is very easy to use, and offers predesigned templates that can be used to promote any type of product or service and I think it is an excellent tool to reach many potential customers and grow your company. We can also use metrics to measure the effectiveness of our emails sent, clicks received, opening rates and bounces. I can say that it is a very effective and beneficial tool for any type of company. Cons It's great but maybe it's a bit expensive if your contact list is too big. They have good anti-spam policies so you should be careful with your contact list and the campaigns you send.
