Pros Has always been easy to use and is readily accessible regardless of one’s location. It’s also easy to update existing contacts via reminders. Cons Nothing really comes to mind. It is especially nice that people can unsubscribe, so you don't keep sending them unwanted emails. Pros The reporting is fantastic. It allows me to see who opened the email, and who opened the attachment, so that I can follow up with each individual company appropriately. Cons It could be better organized by the titles of the email letter that is sent out. Sometimes it can be tricky to find what I sent out several months ago and to what batch of recipients. The tech staff has been helpful to answer questions. Pros The email forms are easy to upload text, photos and video. The list serve works great to add or delete users. I feel like the software is easy-to-use which is great to save time and get out messages! Cons Honestly, I don't think there is a con. The software does everything we need from embedding videos to highlighting our products, adding tips and feedback from users. It's really a great product! September 12, 2019 5.0 Overall, we really have enjoyed the ConstantContact app. As I mentioned earlier, it has proven invaluable to us on more than one occasion when getting vital information to the congregation was time sensitive. Pros I really love the fact that if we have a church announcement that just HAS to go out immediately, ConstantContact can get it out to our entire congregation within 3 minutes of my sending it. They also have wonderful, friendly, customer service. Cons There are some minor issues with user-friendliness and ease of navigation. The interface should be a little more "simple" for those of us who are not totally comfortable with using a publisher. I'm not sure about MailChimp as it was no longer in use by the time I came onboard in 2012. One person (not in marketing) might, for example, start an email by adding rough copy and visuals, and a second person edits and designs. The platform is simple and straightforward enough that a non-marketing lay person can get in and start an email (or complete a whole email) without design assistance. Because we are volunteers, we're often working quickly, in our spare time, and really need a platform that produces professional results with minimal effort. We can easily get in, get it done and deployed in a small amount of time. Pros Appreciate the simple drag-and-drop editor that enables you to easily drag in, resize, recolor and handle other formatting of elements. The email subject and sender lines are visible and editable from the main editor screen. I can write, design and test my complete email campaign from one screen, which saves me considerable time and effort. I use another popular email marketing platform that frankly is a lot harder to manage these simple tasks. Cons Constant Contact have stepped up their game. I have no critiques at this time. It was recommended after our long-time newsletter service dropped the ball. I had a bit of a learning curve but once I got the hang of it (approx. 2 hours), I managed to put out the 2nd newsletter in record time. The two best features are templates and automation. Pros Functionality is by far the best thing about Constant Contact. Once a campaign is set up, I can relax and allow them to do the work. Cons A bit of a learning curve when I started but their help desk is great. When we log in, we feel accomplished. It allows us to look like our organization, sound like our organization, and be received by clients who support our organization. It's a dream come true and makes all-important marketing simple. Pros Constant Contact is limitless. Want to send an eblast, create a platform for registration, or send automated trials or incentives? Constant Contact does just that and so much more. Very simply, without us using Constant Contact daily, we would not know who our prospective clients are and we would not engage the ones that are with us. However, with my smaller clients, it's not a good value for them. But for the larger lists I managing they make things easy and do what they do well, newsletters. Pros What I like about Constant Contact is its abundance of templates. They have 160+ to choose from, so you don't really have to start from scratch if you don't want to, so you can quickly get a newsletter out without spending a lot of time coming up with new layouts. Also, Shopify integration makes it super easy to get that abandon cart message right away. Cons What I think is lacking is Constant Contact needs to expand out to other parts of marketing faster. Other platforms are offering so much more for about the same in price. Speaking of price, if you have a list that is less than 500 it's pretty expensive. We receive lists from an ever-changing database and it is extremely helpful when Constant Contact finds duplicate entries when uploading a new list into a current list. CC makes it easy to see who opened the email and who didn't. I like that emails can be resent only to those who have not opened the emails. I also like the one-click unsubscribe feature and how CC keeps track of it so email is not sent to those who have opted out. Cons Although you can set up the sender's email to look as if it is coming directly from an individual, it seems that emails often end up in the recipient's junk email. I am not certain if this can somehow be avoided. I wish it was a bit more customizable. The templates are great for non-designers, but for those who have experience in design, the set design parameters can be somewhat frustrating. Lastly, as an Administrator, I wish there was a way my "users" could access only "their" campaigns instead of "all" campaigns.
