The list management is extremely useful. Cons I had to spend several frustrated hours learning exactly what would and would not work with the system: attachments, images, and design elements were not always what I had hoped. However, once I learned it, it became second nature and it now doesn't take me long at all. The software has a bunch of templates to choose from, tracks who clicks on and opens emails, and lets you organize your email list with tags and lists. You even have an option to resend to non-openers! You can create newsletters and emails even if you're a beginner. You can also create surveys and polls and do A/B testing with this software. Cons As a paying customer, I'd like better customer service, but it seems this is a recurring problem with many software suppliers. I'd also like more customizable options for my emails, like being able to move around the images and text. Also would like the ability to have more than one person working on a document at the same time. The list management and contact UI could also use some work. It's all smaller intricacies that bother me, but still would make things easier and better for users. Review Source Bryan H. Pros When it comes to building and planning email blasts, efficiency is everything. Constant Contact makes it easy to design and create email blasts on the fly for my team. It's an extremely responsive program that allows me to quickly add images, copy, and lists for email marketing campaigns. Scheduling out tons of blasts is a no-brainer with Constant Contact and I love the confidence it gives me in my email marketing strategy. Cons Templates can be slightly glitchy, including errors that cause text spacing or font styles to change. Time spent fixing these errors can affect the product's efficiency. Pros The template system is easy to use, offers many features and customizations. Creating newsletters is quick and simple. The reporting is excellent as well. Easy list management and importing. Overall there are a lot of great features of Constant Contact. Cons For smaller email lists, constant contact is affordable, but when you start getting into very large lists, it gets expensive. Also when working with uploading large lists, they will freeze your account for "more information" about how you acquired those contacts. Review Source MB Michael B. October 6, 2023 5.0 We've benefitted from Constant Contact by keeping our constituents aware of current happenings in a creative and modern way, using eye-catching layouts and graphics. Pros The best feature is the vast array of template that are available to get me started. Sometimes I want to be a little creative, but I just can't seem to get going or find the design that hits the mark. The library of choices is huge and has some really interesting styles in it. BUGS THAT NEVER GET FIXED DESPITE BEING REPORTED BY NUMEROUS USERS. TECH SUPPORT CHAT REPS THAT LIE AND DON'T KNOW THEIR OWN PRODUCT. IT ABSOLUTELY SUCKS. EMPLOYEES HAVE LEFT RATHER THAN USE THIS DISASTER OF A PLATFORM. Pros The refunds and credits that the Billing dept is forced to give for all of the bugs. Cons The site is full of bugs that never get fixed despite having a major impact on usability. December 6, 2018 5.0 Pros This software allows our company endless additions to our mailing list. We are able to send out as many emails as we would like using Constant Contact. I also love the different templates offered to make the emails look appetizing to open. Cons The survey option of the software isn't as nice looking. Pros We are able to keep track of all our patron email address and related demographics in a concise and timely fashion. Cons The pricing is higher for independent companies, and while the interface works for our needs, eventually we are concerned the interface will no longer be able to keep up with our needs. Pros We feel our emails are delivered properly with this program. Cons Events and survey features are lacking. Events take too long to set up and are not very visually pleasing or customizable. Survey features are lacking compared to competition and it would be very nice to eliminate the expense of Survey Monkey, but Constant Contact survey feature does not come close to measuring up. " December 1, 2022 5.0 Used from CC’s introduction and found it to be a useful and easy way to stay in contact with clients and non-clients. Pros Has always been easy to use and is readily accessible regardless of one’s location. It’s also easy to update existing contacts via reminders. Cons Nothing really comes to mind. April 8, 2025 5.0 Overall I think it is one of the top programs out there for sending large volumes of emails. It is especially nice that people can unsubscribe, so you don't keep sending them unwanted emails. Pros The reporting is fantastic. It allows me to see who opened the email, and who opened the attachment, so that I can follow up with each individual company appropriately. Cons It could be better organized by the titles of the email letter that is sent out. Sometimes it can be tricky to find what I sent out several months ago and to what batch of recipients. The tech staff has been helpful to answer questions. Pros The email forms are easy to upload text, photos and video. The list serve works great to add or delete users. I feel like the software is easy-to-use which is great to save time and get out messages! Cons Honestly, I don't think there is a con. The software does everything we need from embedding videos to highlighting our products, adding tips and feedback from users. It's really a great product! September 12, 2019 5.0 Overall, we really have enjoyed the ConstantContact app. As I mentioned earlier, it has proven invaluable to us on more than one occasion when getting vital information to the congregation was time sensitive. Pros I really love the fact that if we have a church announcement that just HAS to go out immediately, ConstantContact can get it out to our entire congregation within 3 minutes of my sending it. They also have wonderful, friendly, customer service. Cons There are some minor issues with user-friendliness and ease of navigation. The interface should be a little more "simple" for those of us who are not totally comfortable with using a publisher. I'm not sure about MailChimp as it was no longer in use by the time I came onboard in 2012. One person (not in marketing) might, for example, start an email by adding rough copy and visuals, and a second person edits and designs. The platform is simple and straightforward enough that a non-marketing lay person can get in and start an email (or complete a whole email) without design assistance. Because we are volunteers, we're often working quickly, in our spare time, and really need a platform that produces professional results with minimal effort. We can easily get in, get it done and deployed in a small amount of time. Pros Appreciate the simple drag-and-drop editor that enables you to easily drag in, resize, recolor and handle other formatting of elements. The email subject and sender lines are visible and editable from the main editor screen. I can write, design and test my complete email campaign from one screen, which saves me considerable time and effort. I use another popular email marketing platform that frankly is a lot harder to manage these simple tasks. Cons Constant Contact have stepped up their game. I have no critiques at this time. Additionally, the automation feature has enabled me to create emails and give instructions on the appropriate time to send them. Pros They offer an influx of built-in-templates making it easy to generate aesthetic emails and share them to my clients Cons Nothing to dislike, I'm completely convinced this is a superb marketing tool that I will be using even in future. Entering contacts and communicating with them is made easy. You can setup auto campaigns, multiple emails, and one-off emails to groups of people. Cons Constant Contact allows very limited customization. It makes it difficult to really give any personality to the communication because the options aren't there. Pros It's easy to use and I like the drag and drop features when building an email. We have added "design" blocks that enable us to quickly build an email. Cons It has become very costly each month due to the size of our database. We'd like to update our templates but that comes with a cost associated with it.
