A Constant Contact Review" November 7, 2022 4.0 Overall, I am extremely pleased with Constant Contact software. It is user-friendly and has everything I need to keep my contacts organized. I love that I can easily add new contacts and create groups. Additionally, the email templates are great and make staying in touch with my contacts easy and affordable. My only complaint is that I would like more features for managing my contact lists (e.g., the ability to add notes to individual contacts). Pros Pros: Overall, I was really happy with Constant Contact! 1. I liked how easy it was to use and how intuitive the interface was. 2. I thought the features were great - I was able to easily create beautiful emails and newsletters. 3. I loved theAnalytics tool - it was really helpful in seeing how my emails were performing. Cons Cons:The only downside I could think of was that...1. I wished there were more templates to choose from, and 2. I would have liked the ability to export my email list to a CSV file. The analytics are pretty standard but helpful. I haven't noticed a lot of outages either. Cons The site is sometimes glitchy. Not a huge deal, but sometimes it is annoying. For example: a few months back when selecting lists for emails, it would preselect the email list you used for the previous campaign so you'd have to physically uncheck that email list or the campaign would go out to the wrong list. I was able to generate over 10 thousand leads over a period of three years. Cons It's not really smooth when creating an email to blast out. Cons The interface looks a bit dated, and there's not ability to incorporate video or gifs. The site freezes at times when creating a campaign. Cons Prepare to require training. If you or your staff have never conducted communications of this magnitude, make sure you allocate time to learn the system and use it fully, otherwise you will find yourself spending considerable money to use a platform for such simple use cases that other tools might have served you well at a much lower price point. Pros This is one of the best systems to create email marketing campaigns, it is very easy to use compared to other similar systems and contains features and functionalities that facilitate the development of email marketing strategies. There are many predesigned designs that we can choose to create our campaigns to provide an attractive and professional visual effect, we can also create our own designs easily, we simply drag and drop the items we need. We can segment our contact lists in a very simple way, it also allows us to incorporate forms on our websites to add subscribers. We can make an analysis of our campaigns and improve results since the system allows us to carry statistics of the shipments that we do. Cons What I do not like very much about constant is its price, I think it is a bit expensive and its support management system is not so good, but in general it is a great system. Constant Contact allows me to reach a lot of individuals in a short period of time and helps ensure that all contacts ar maintained in one database. Pros What I like most about this software is the ability to reach a lot of client, customers, vendors, donors, etc., quickly as well as the ability to locate contact information on these individuals from any point intime in which we interfaced with them. The software helps us ensure effective and timely communciation which drive donor retention, fundraising, enrollment, etc. Constant Contact is an essential investment for all nonprofits. Cons What I like least about this software is that it does not recognize duplicate individuals; we have to screen and purge those entries ourselves. April 15, 2021 5.0 I have not been able to find anything that is a good enough replacement for Constant Contact. So I am very pleased. Pros Being able to schedule a series is the best for me. So I can set up emails to go out based off certain phases my lead is in. Cons That I can not edit something I created online from my phone. We recently made the switch from MailChimp to Constant Contact because I, as the primary user, was wanting something that would be less labor-intensive. While having fewer features and customizable content as Mailchimp, it's nice not having to hand code anything. Additionally, it seems to provide a similar experience regardless of browser. With Mailchimp we kept having diplay/layout issues with recipients viewing in Outlook 365 on a PC. Pros It's simple. Drag and drop editor is dummy proof. Very simple to build emails and automations. Ability to do emails with multiple columns. Cons Not able to do edge-to-edge designs and the footer is less customizable than our previous email software (Mailchimp) Switched from [Mailchimp](https://www.capterra.com/p/110228/MailChimp/) While having fewer features and customizable content as Mailchimp, it's nice not having to hand-code anything. After Mailchimp updated their interface in 2018/19, we found a number of display issues that appeared for recipients using Outlook. Mailchimp did not offer three column photos with text, a feature we needed for our newsletter. The new image editor that Mailchimp added in 2019 is frustrating. Whenever I'd upload an image, I then had to click to resize it, save it, then click edit again to make any additional changes. For some reason it would never let me do everything at once. This seems like a little issue, but the frustration of waiting for the image to process was too much... Lastly, Constant Contact has a feature for readers to do a survey inside of the email. Since our newsletter doesn't have click throughs, this feature is beneficial to judge actual engagement. Pros Constant Contact is one of the best email marketing platforms because it offers a variety of built-in templates. It even indicates which templates will display correctly on mobile devices. The templates are easy to customize in Constant Contacts editor. Creating, uploading, and managing contact lists is also very simple. The contact manager allows you to assign tags to contacts to track how they signed up for your email list, how long they have been a subscriber, etc. Cons If you are looking for an email marketing platform that offers marketing automation, pass on constant contact. It does offer a basic automation for the first few interactions with customers but, does not allow you to adjust your marketing to your customer's specific actions. March 6, 2023 5.0 I used Constant Contact as my major campaigning tool leading up to a national conference that I hosted. It helped me create community. I got tons of feedback from the listserv that the emails looked amazing. It boosted my registrations and helped everyone stay up-to-date on what we were planning. Pros The emails looked great! Plus, it was so easy to drag and drop items to build a newsletter/email that I really wanted. It was like canva with it's drag and drop functionality, which made it really easy! Cons I wish there were more stock pictures to use. More ability to edit pictures within the software. This opened up a whole new world for client and customer communications. When the organization adopted its new CRM, we were told by the CRM managers that CC was not compatable and that we would have to utilize another software to send out mass emails, but this also entailed us to import client/customer contact data into the other software before mailings were sent. The CRM system then updated and CC became the preferred software for email connection with the CRM data base. A CC tab was even located directly on the main CRM page as part of the CRM menu. Drafting and sending emails out without having to export any information and having the preselected group being pulled directly from the CRM into CC made emailing VERY easy and updating account information even easier. Pros Constant Contact is now directly integrated into the CRM system that is utilized by the business. Makes this extremely easy to generate mass emails to filtered groups as well as seemlessly update our "do not email" list of within the CRM. This is all done directly through CC back to our CRM without office staff having to manually indicate this within the CRM data base. Cons Using templated email formats for letters, flyers, etc.. is easy but putting together custom projects is a bit more labor extensive. They are a reliable company in the email marketing arena and they offer solid performance and support, albeit at a slightly higher price tag. I will say though, you do get what you pay for, and all of my clients that have used them really like them. I have had several switch to other services, but it has always been due to price not performance. Pros \- Excellent delivery of email to inboxes - Solid interface to design, schedule and send emails from - Good reporting on the back-end to track user interactions with emails - Good support when you need it Cons \- They are a bit more pricey than other similar services.
