April 18, 2017 5.0 I had an issue after moving into my new house, where my documents weren't uploading to the cloud. After a quick call to customer service, I learned that I had not set up my wireless on the scanner to match the new router that was installed. Pros This is a VERY fast machine. Used the software for: ### "Have to pay a fee now just to be able to access all of my scanned documents" March 4, 2017 1.0 When I bought this in 2013 it was great for me. But now this year I can no longer even get to the copies of my receipts that I scanned over the years unless I paid the yearly fee just to speak to someone on the phone. They take no calls otherwise. Still can't get it to work but I do have access to my scanned documents. Unless someone knows a better way I'm going to have to go back all those years and one by one download each document onto my hard drive. Pros It used to be easy to use for the most part. For my needs anyway. Cons It no longer scans and little support unless I pay yearly fee first (still didn't help after 10 hours). I can no longer access any of my saved documents unless I pay a yearly fee for it. Review Source CV Corina V. Great" April 4, 2018 5.0 Pros What I like about Neat is their software neat receipts! Neat receipts allow me to scan all the receipts I have throughout the years and keep track of preceding years as well it's awesome and easy to use. Accountant Machinery Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "NeatBooks for Receipt Capture" November 15, 2021 4.0 I like the receipt capture aspect, and the fact that I can store all the receipts in different folders for each employee but I wish there were better options to sort receipts, and that the transfer over to QuickBooks desktop was smoother and had more customization. Pros Being able to take a picture of the receipt and not needing to keep a physical copy is awesome and such a time saver. Cons The transfer of receipt info over to QuickBooks Desktop is not very user friendly. There also is not a very good sorting system and there is no organization by dates. Pros The ability to assign categories to each scan is good. The ability to organize and share items is also a benefit. Cons Unable to combine files into one PDF. Unable to easily export the PDF's to usable items. Way to much data entry for a software that is supposed to scan in the data and read it and then assign. Not intuitive enough. I had literally boxes of receipts each year to input (one by one). I trust it so much now that I actually scan and discard hard copy into shredder - Now my desk is nice and clean AND everything is sorted, stored and easy to print if I need it! LOVE IT!!! December 9, 2016 4.0 I use to have bags of receipts for my taxes laying around but since I got neat receipt it has been so much better. When I started using it for my receipts then I started thinking of so many other ways I could use it. I use it all of the time. Pros It does a great job of picking the information out on a receipt that you need for your taxes. It always amazes me as how it does that. I have not found any other program that does that. The searchable nature is awesome. I've been using the mobile app as well which has been super helpful for remote. CFO Used the software for: ### "No more updates or support after March 2016" April 6, 2016 1.0 The company i work for invested in Neat scanners and we have used them successfully in the past to scan receipts and make expense reports. Now, they have discontinued support for their desktop software and now are requiring a subscription to their service to continue to use the hardware. I am unable to contact customer service because I am not paying a subscription fee. I Now i have a giant paperweight on my desk because the software stopped working.
