Pros I like that 1099 pro finds all your missing deductions for you so you dont miss any new or updated deductions. Cons The graphics on 1099 pro could be a little more updated. I bought the software originally, then was told that I needed to upgrade to get the efile capability. Once that didn't work for me (tech support said the software didn't support IRIS efile, only FIRE) I asked my the money I paid for the upgrade ($200) back. Never heard back from them Pros Ability to print forms on Plain paper to make things easy Cons Said it supported multiple companies and has the ability to efile. Only efiles to the IRS FIRE System, if you are a smaller company and use IRIS, this does not work. They say it supports multiple companies (and it does) but only provides one TCC code (one company for efile) so the functionality is useless. If you are a small company, you are better off going to the IRIS site and you can download your own CSV templates from them, create your 1099's and upload your CSV to efile. It's affordable and quick. Pros I was able to do exactly what I needed with relative ease. It's a straightforward product that expedites 1099 filings. It works will for accountants like me that have to file for multiple businesses. Cons It doesn't look very professional. I wasn't sure if I was going to use their service because it didn't seem like a particularly legitimate website. It is a good service, though. Software is user friendly. Most important you can print on plain paper. This is a great software for year end at the CPA firm. Cons You will need to order the current year and down load the software, and upload prior year clients list. Easy to use and won't take a ton of your time to meet this important IRS requirement. Pros The software has a new release every year, but is very affordable. This way you know you're in compliance with any rule changes. It's pretty simple to load your data and then it validated and submitted for printing and/or e-filing. I had to take this task over this year and only had a few minutes of ramp up time. They also have some helpful documentation. Cons Not too much. There are a lot of up-sell attempts, but they're not very obtrusive. Also, one of the up-sells would have been more effective had it been explained how crazy potential IRS fines can be before you submit. They offer an SSN verification service but we didn't get notified its importance until after submission and filing.
