Yardi makes containing everything about a resident super easy to find and makes the entire process from application to move in and beyond super-efficient. It makes going paperless wonderful! It's ease of obtaining what you are looking for and having everything at your fingertips is such a time saver.

Pros

It was easy to use and everything was in one spot. Made finding everything about your resident simple.

Cons

Sometimes I felt like there were too many steps with things but mostly I enjoyed everything about it.

I have not used any other property management systems so I have nothing to compare it to, but it is functional as of now! I know they are making updated systems like Voyager 8 and CRM, so maybe those will be more user friendly and accurate.

Pros

That it can sync with other platforms and contains the most important information that I need to better serve my residents!

Cons

I feel that the interface could be updated and that I am still unaware of a lot of the features. It is not super user friendly- with extra training needed. Some of the information and statistics aren't accurate so I always try to double check important data. I have not interacted with their customer support much, but it was very difficult to find and not very helpful.

Overall experience is very positive. We currently use Yardi for our A/R, Property Management and Financial Reporting. We started on 7s and we are now preparing to move to Yardi 8.

Pros

The modules work well for our company and multiple departments are able to use the product seamlessly. We are excited to being using Yardi for our CAM reconciliations

Cons

Learning the different aspects of Yardi is time consuming but once you learn it, you can truly see the benefit

Had used for several years and it just seems like the program is cumbersome. I would like the names of reports to be more similar to the actual report type and the filters to be more specific.

Pros

Once you learn the system it is fairly easy. Document storage and resident data is nice and the system knowledge of rental properties is nice.

Cons

Not the easiest to navigate. The reports aren't easy to sift through. I feel like there were a lot of clicks to find one thing.

All in one powerhouse managing everything from leases, accounting, operations. It’s great for large complex portfolios.

Cons

It’s hard to navigate for beginners and takes a while to understand. Can be slow sometimes with glitches.

### "A Top Tier Property Manangment Software With Few Drawbacks!"

Yardi is one of my top choices for property management software despite drawbacks of slower customer service support. I find it's easy to train new team members due to the simplification of the user interface!

Pros

Yardi was a straight forward, comprehensive program that greatly improve day to day work flow for busy leasing offices. The user interface is easy for people to catch on to, even those who may not be as comfortable with learning new software. Reports are easy to find and I love being able to pull them as Excel spreadsheets so I can tailor them to my liking.

Cons

Customer service could be strong. While the support team can be helpful, often times I find that immediate needs cannot be met, which can hold up our processes. Bank reconciliation is easy, however, fixing or moving money can pose a challenge at times.

Pros

The software once setup is very user friendly and easy to navigate.

Cons

The setup can come with some growing pains. But what software company does not.

Pros

User friendly, always upgrading to run better with the current technology, and offers zoom training and in person.

Cons

Very big company, may not have the one on one experience ass other smaller companies have. Its still great!

I really enjoy Yardi. I miss using it. I now use Entrata and I realize how much I took Yardi for granted haha.

Pros

I like how everything from move ins to move outs and applications is on the dashboard as soon as you log in. You’re not having to hunt for all of it.

Cons

How glitchy it can be. For example if I’m leaving a memo and a resident comes to me and I go back to that memo after 5 minutes of talking to my resident , IT CLOSES OUT!

Yardi is a efficient and well placed software. A lot of our issues arose from a hasty and incomplete setup of the software, which led us to run into irreconcilable issues later down the line that would cost too much to resolve with Yardi.

Pros

There is functionality for any process you may want or need to do. They are willing to schedule meetings if there are any issues that arise.

Cons

Using it as an accounting software felt like a second consideration. A lot of processes included many redundant steps. If we did have an issue with how

Pros

Honestly I've been using it so long it's difficult to be that objective about it anymore, but I guess it's just the OG of property management software. It has some weird workflows in older versions but you get used to it.

Cons

Sometimes it's not very user friendly. Sometimes it's overly customized to the customer and there is a wish for more standardization so we can work together for better training and resource materials instead of having to write them all yourself as the customer.

I have used Entrata, OneSite, OnSite, eSite, and Yardi Voyager. Yardi is second to last, and eSite is last. It took me two full months to get accustomed to their platforms, which is far too long to figure out a property management platform.

Pros

It is somewhat easier to navigate after you learn it a little bit.

Cons

It is a very dated leasing platform. It is not very user-friendly. I have used other property management platforms and this is one of my least favorites.

Overall I like Yardi Voyager. It is a tool useful on a daily basis to track my building's financials as well as AR and AP.

Pros

I like the nearly unlimited ability to customize Yardi to a company's needs. Detailed information available and ability to compile financial reports are invaluable.

Cons

It can be very complex to use, requiring very detailed manuals. I don't find it very intuitive, but this may be due to the complexity of information it can provide.

I enjoy how Yardi has been designed and how easily it can be navigated. It is very user friendly.

Pros

I enjoy different ways to pull up information so that I can easily tailor it to my needs.

Cons

It can be slow to pull up information during major accounting deadlines. IE rent day, or around the end of the month when the rent is being posted. We have also had problems having our third party tenant portal integrate with Yardi with it comes to Tenant Promotion function. I do have a ticket in and they are researching the problem. Tech support is quite good at times, but I find that they do not look at the documents that were uploaded on help tickets and we waste time going back and forth when all the information was provided at the beginning.

Reason for choosing Yardi Voyager

I was not involved in this as our client chose it for us to use.

7s is a much better product than 6, which is a nice surprise. And payscan has worked well so far. In general, it's been a real struggle. It's just been really hard making Yardi work for my company. Occasionally, I come across a person who is great and knowledgeable, like \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] and I try to reengage him or her but it's not always possible to get the same person to help. And sometimes you get one of the support team who is not very good and things can take a long time to get sorted out.....

Pros

It has a robust set of features and has many modules such as rentcafe that are native (hope I'm using that term properly) to the environment- meaning no need to integrate with third party software providers. Tech support is usually quick to respond.

Cons

You really need your own Yardi tech department to get the most out of it. If you don't it becomes critical to work with a Yardi consulting firm in order to customize the software to your business or implement new features. For some reason roommates are treated differently than "primary" lesees by the system. It's infuriating that residents are handled differently just because one was entered into the system first and is considered to be the "primary" resident, even when both folks are on the lease. Moving roommates in and out of the system is a nightmare for accounting. Customizing the leasing process and documents was so difficult and time consuming I had to fire Yardi from the job and engage an outside consulting firm. Yardi refunded my support hours upon request, so that part was good. The workflow is not set up to work in places like Boston or New York. The concept of a broker is foreign to Yardi folks. If you own or manage a single large property or community where all leasing is done in -house then no problem. If you own many properties in urban areas and rely on outside brokers to rent apartments choose a different software platform. Yardi support techs can be infuriating and there is no single person or team that is responsible for my account. I have team leaders for Voyager, Payscan, RentCafe, Lease Docs etc. but no single person is really "driving the train." I've been waiting 3 months or more for the correct version of my annual invoice.

Reason for choosing Yardi Voyager

Wasn't confident that either Appfolio or Buildium would be better and really wanted to automate our a/p so payscan was the easiest and fastest way to go.

I am very happy with Yardi Voyager. I can find what I need relatively easily. The chart of accounts is easy to create and the custom reporting is helpful in disseminating information to particular users.

Pros

My favourite feature of Yardi is the ability to drill down to the original transaction to see how it was coded and the associated PO and invoice, if applicable. The amount of detail that can be found with relative ease is very helpful in creating financial reports.

Cons

The inventory management module is lacking and can be drastically improved. We have made it work for what we need, but I'd like to see some improvements in the module.

I hate it.

Pros

Nothing. Even the UI is awful. Actually thier conference was fun but the product is awful.

Cons

It is way too complicated. I have used other software that is more robust and easier to use. Yardi has increased my workload. I will spend a full day on a Yardi task.

### "Yardi Voyager - Thumbs Up!"

Overall - thumbs way up. I have found the system to be a reliable tool for Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Budget Creation & Management

Pros

Ease of use is at the top of my list regarding Yardi Voyager ... our company moved over to Yardi from another Real Estate Management Software about 12 years ago bringing us into the 21st century ... I love the ability to scan invoice images so when you need to refer to it later, it is at your fingertips. I rarely need to refer to hard-copy files anymore.

Cons

This would likely be report customization - though I could not say if that has more to do with our system administrators than Yardi itself, it can be time-consuming and (probably) costly.
