I would recommend it to any analyst. Pros I like that this software is easy to use and learn. It is helpful for statistical modeling and doesnt require too much training. Cons I do not like that it does not have as much help documentation as other tools i have used. It's my go-to software anytime I need to do something too big for Excel or something that might need to be repeated. Pros Such a user-friendly IDE. It makes managing all of my active data objects, visualizations, and packages extremely easy. Cons Nobody will ever accuse R or R Studio in being the fastest or most memory-efficient software. Photographer Arts and Crafts Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "R-Studio Recovered 0 of 459 Corrupted Files" August 26, 2026 1.0 After two days of working with R-Studio, approximately 30 hours of disk scanning, and a detailed examination of every relevant recovery result, I consider this software a scam and I do not believe it is worth the $79.99 I paid for it. I purchased R-Studio specifically to recover 459 corrupted files with a total size of approximately 258 GB. These included large MP4 video files, but also much simpler JPEG photographs. R-Studio failed to recover a single one of those 459 corrupted files — not even one JPEG. What I find particularly concerning is what happened with the completely healthy data that was also present on the same drive. There were 4,493 perfectly healthy files totaling 159 GB, for which I have backup copies, so I was able to reliably compare the results. Through RAW recovery, R-Studio reconstructed approximately 90% of these healthy files correctly, but around 10% of files that were perfectly healthy on the source drive were reconstructed as corrupted. Some photographs contained large green areas and other visual artifacts, while some files could not be opened at all. R-Studio also incorrectly identified a number of healthy TIFF photographs as Nikon NEF files. I confirmed that the problem was the incorrect file identification by recognizing some of these files myself and manually changing their extension from .nef to .tif — after which the photographs opened normally. In the end, R-Studio reported the successful recovery of 312,920 files totaling approximately 297 GB, but those impressive statistics did not represent actual recovery success. Not a single file for which I purchased the program was successfully recovered. The manufacturer itself acknowledges limitations of RAW recovery, including false positives and problems with fragmented files. Its own documentation explains that raw recovery identifies data through file signatures and that fragmentation can result in unsuccessful recovery. This may explain some of the results, but it does not change my experience as a paying customer or the fact that the program failed to perform the task for which I purchased it, while its RAW recovery could not even reliably reconstruct all of the files that I know were completely healthy on the source drive. Based on all of the above, I consider R-Studio a scam and I do not recommend buying it. Pros The interface is reasonably well organized and the scanning process provides a lot of technical information. Cons The biggest problem is reliability. R-Studio failed to recover a single one of the 459 corrupted files I needed, including ordinary JPEG files. Even more concerning, its RAW recovery incorrectly reconstructed around 10% of files that were completely healthy on the source drive — some images had large green areas and other artifacts, while others could not be opened at all. It also misidentified some healthy TIFF files as Nikon NEF files. After about 30 hours of scanning and generating 312,920 recovered files totaling approximately 297 GB, the number of files I actually needed that were successfully recovered was zero. Pros The ability to image seemingly dead hard-drives and restore data is powerful. Also the ability to connect to remote systems is another great feature. Pros One of the most amazing features of this software is the ability to reconstruct failed RAID arrays. You can images the individual drives, then build the virtual array in the software. Once done, you can recovery files from the old array without it being intact. This alone makes this software invaluable, but it also routinely outperforms nearly any other software we compare it to. Cons It has a slight learning curve, and it takes a little longer than most of our other recovery software options. But it works better than most, so we are ok with that. Review Source Rajat W. Earlier I used to use Pycharm for all my work but R-Studio is the one tool I missed. I realized that lately. It has already inbuilt libraries which reduce the code and hence the workload by half. All you need to do is call the given library. Cons I couldn't find any flaw as such. Even if you work on Python or R, your code must be correct. I only used it once some while back to recover important data that was stored in an iPod Classic (in disk mode) which started failing. The process was flawless and fast. Cons Given the nature of the disk drives and as the data tends to be rewritten after a while in the spaces freed by the table of contents (TOC), it is mostly useful when the recovery happens almost immediately after the event, which limits the recovering power of real old data.
