Information Technology and Services ### "Active@ for Killing all your hard drives" 5.0 Overall Rating 5.0 5.0 Ease of Use 4.0 4.0 Features 5.0 5.0 Customer Service 4.0 4.0 Likelihood to Recommend 10/10 May 16, 2019 I would recommend this software to anyone. It works really well. Pros I have been using Active@ Kill Disk for years. It is my standard for writing a ton of zeros to a hard drive several times to securely wipe a hard drive. The company offers a free version that works on bootable media. I have the full purchased version where I can wipe a couple drives simultaneously and leave a bunch in queue. There are several “wiping” standard that are offered to match your tastes in levels of hard drive deletion. Cons I wish you could wipe more than two drives at a time. We wipe and track thousands of hard drives per week with this software with ease. Its a dangerous world out there and active kill disk truly helps minimize the risk of data theft and breaches for our company. I highly recommend this software for all your data destruction needs. Pros The array of wiping methods available is incredible. Keeps our company R2 compliant and decreases our data management liability to almost zero. User data is always completely destroyed with no worries of data escaping our building. Cons Software works like it should every time no complaints. Pros I use this program quite a bit to wipe old PC's so that they are HIPAA compliant before being decommissioned. The software is very easy to use and has a multitude of different types of disk erasure's. I use the 3 pass DoD wiping format but there's a lot to choose from. It's easy to plug disks into a dock or what I like the most is the bootable USB sticks with a fully functioning GUI to make things even easier. You can easily generate proof of formatting certificates that have serial numbers and other identifying numbers. Cons I haven't found anything to complain about with Active@ Killdisk program. Everything is thoughtfully laid out and the features are easy to identify.
