### "It was great until it wasn't.. "

April 21, 2026

1.0

As a multi-location dental practice, we value systems that are efficient, scalable, and well-supported. Denticon delivers well on the operational side and has been a reliable platform for our day-to-day needs. Where we’ve experienced challenges is with support. We’ve had an open request for over six months that remains unresolved, with communication primarily limited to generic updates and no clear timeline or ownership. Despite multiple follow-ups, we have yet to connect directly with a team member who can actively move the issue forward. At this level of practice management, responsiveness and accountability are just as critical as functionality. Streamlining support communication and providing more direct, solution-oriented engagement would significantly elevate the overall experience.

Pros

Denticon is a cloud based platform. We can login from anywhere, which is nice especially with remote employees.

Cons

Support and user functionality: Way to many clicks to get anywhere or do anything within the system, which makes it difficult to train new employees. Whenever there is a support issue we get a tier one represenative that takes away too much time from our team.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Denticon

We purchased a practice that was already a Denticon client and decided not switch due to patient data being in Denticon already.

Thank you for taking the time to share this, Allison. We're glad Denticon has been a reliable platform for your day-to-day operations, and we hear you on the support experience. An open request sitting unresolved for six months with no clear ownership is not the standard we hold ourselves to, and we take that seriously. We've escalated this directly to our Customer Success team and someone will be reaching out to you shortly to take ownership and work toward a resolution. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to us at Arty@planetdds.com with your company name and the email associated with your account so we can make sure the right person is looped in.

### "Good and should be getting better..."

April 10, 2026

4.0

I've been working with PlanetDDS for 7 years now and converted around 250 practices from various Practices management systems and around 50TB of x-rays to XVWeb and more to come. They are great to work with and I like what I'm seeing in the roadmap. Lots of AI integrations, more robust API's and Cloud 9 integration for Ortho.

Pros

The setup is straight forward, and their integrations work extremely well. XVWeb is my favorite product and their conversion tool is rock solid.

Cons

User provisioning is good for single practice or small group practices. No current way to bulk import from Denticon itself however, they are supposedly working on a solution. API are limited to customer access but that is also being upgraded with the new DentalOS release.

Todd, seven years and 250 practice conversions. That means a lot to us. Thank you for the kind words and for trusting us with that scale of work. We hear you on the user provisioning limitations and the API constraints. The good news is you already know what's coming. DentalOS is going to address a lot of that, and we're excited for you to see it in action. Thanks for being such a long-standing part of the Planet DDS community. We're glad the roadmap is landing well, and we look forward to continuing to build alongside teams like yours.

### "Good overall, working through bugs"

April 9, 2026

5.0

Overall, I’m a fan of the platform. I feel the new products and updates that are coming out are truly advancements. I do however feel that products are released without being fully vetted for bugs. This tends to truly impact the offices. As far as value, we are an organization truly attempting to use Denticon in its entirety. Some products feel like an upgrade such as MyTooth which is difficult to justify the cost when it should be part of DPC. Overall, we enjoy working with the platform.

Pros

My favorite part was hearing what updates and new products are coming down the pipeline. It feels like once the bugs are ironed out, we’ll be able to maximize utilization.

Cons

There are many bugs and issues going around specifically with DPC and the reasons or responses were not helpful. Seems to just be something being worked on.

### "Lacks SUPPORT"

November 14, 2025

1.0

The quality of this company has deteriorated significantly over the past two years. They continue acquiring one useless add-on company after another, overwhelming users with unnecessary features while failing to address core system stability. Meanwhile, we’re dealing with system crashes, disappearing charts, and a support team that clearly has no grasp of what is happening behind the scenes. It is incredibly frustrating to work with them. Perhaps there is one knowledgeable person in the entire organization—someone who is never available—but 99% of the time you are routed to support staff who are shockingly uninformed and unable to resolve even basic issues. Their support is an absolute joke, and the lack of competence is unacceptable.

Pros

seemed intuitive and easy to work with at first it seemed comprehensive and being cloud based made it attractive BUT....

Cons

Very poor support. The technical staff appears uninformed, resulting in a complete waste of time. The level of bureaucracy is excessive—endless ticket submissions and constant back-and-forth emails with people who seem to have nothing to do but sit at a desk. It’s as if they’ve forgotten that many of us are actively working and providing patient care, not engaging in pointless email chains that resolve nothing.

### "Strong Meh Overall"

October 22, 2025

2.0

Pretty meh to generally poor overall. We switched, primarily because they keep you on a fixed % increase in monthly fees but then once we started looking around we realized how poor the overall platform is. It is like it was designed in 1992 at the advent of the internet and nobody has decided to do a refresh since.

Pros

Cloud based but... there are a lot of other options that accomplish this. It did work okay with RevenueWell and I did like their payment system Denticon Pay.

Cons

Dated design, not comprehensive, buggy, had to use multiple workarounds to do simple tasks. Some work tasks were impossible to accomplish. For instance, if a patient needed to be moved to their own account (a child or a divorce for instance), their entire chart had to be remade, everything re-charted, etc. None of their history transferred and there was no way to accomplish this. Sending reminders through RevenueWell you had to manually remove every single block in the schedule - it thought they were appointments. Just overall a very very clunky product. Also, transferring away from them has been a nightmare. The new software platform is great but getting someone to respond at Denticon that will help facilitate a transition away is a nightmare. They have no single centralized agent to assist with transitioning, you have to submit help tickets that you may or may not receive a response to. At least pulling your general data is streamlined with an automated process but good luck with all your imaging, setting cancellation dates, getting info on fees, etc.

### "Lots of Love for Denticon"

April 9, 2026

Denticon is by far my favorite PMS used. It was easy to learn, everyone within PlanetDDS have always been so kind and helpful

Pros

easy to read the ledgers - easy to upload notes and screenshots - easy to click here & there to get back and forth from one area to another

Cons

allocations of payments - least favorite. wish the unallocated payments could and would allocate themselves. ha!

### "Making appointments easier!"

January 8, 2026

5.0

Overall my experience has been wonderful. Easy access, great support when needed, everything in one easy place. Great product all the way around.

Pros

Everything is in one spot. Any information that you would need for a patient is available in it's on place. You can leave detailed back notes that can be shared with all other employees. I love that it lists all past appointments and it has flash notices that mention the most important things you need to watch for. It's very simple to learn how to use it. I had a little bit of training and got it right away.

Cons

I do not like that you can't copy and paste things using the mouse. I have also had issues with it closing with out any reason and you have to resign in and re open any windows you may have had open. It takes up extra time that could be better used contacting the next patient.

### "Good. Can be better."

April 9, 2026

4.0

Pros

Pedo/ortho integration. Allows future more-efficient scalability. Properly focused on AI integration to facilitate practice management and treatment.

Cons

There is no training. Only a self-directed online Denticon University. Every time you ask Denticon for anything, it must be done with a ticket. Then the ticket is sometimes closed as successful even though you are waiting patiently for answers. There must be a better way! It's hard to sell the possibility of efficiency to your clients when you are not efficient yourselves.

### "Best Practice Management Software EVER"

October 23, 2024

5.0

My overall experience with Denticon has been outstanding. I am such a big fan, that I happily schedule calls with any future Denticon customers to share our experience with the integration process, best practices and answer questions they might have. This helps assist practices that aren't sure if Denticon is right for them, to make the decision to move forward.

Pros

Denticon is a cloud based Practice Management Software which has improved every aspect of our work flow, reporting and staffing as a DSO with 9 locations. We have the best success support in Xavier Gardner, who works closely with our team to educate us and support our growth and success in the dental space. My favorite part is that Planet DDS seeks out feedback from its customers, and actually makes changes to best accommodate the needs of our business, providers and staff.

Cons

I would love to see some enhanced features to more easily manage rescheduling appointments and keeping the written appointment notes when cancelling. In addition, I hope to continue to see improvements customized reporting.

### "Very disappointed"

November 10, 2021

1.0

Very disappointing, in a nut shell Denticon over promised and under delivered. I'm looking at other options.

Pros

We have two offices and the ability to jump between offices with click has been great. Being able see patients between the two offices and have on chart that will record at both offices has been very nice.

Cons

Our experience with support has been terrible. We are almost 3 months in to this and e-statements are still not working. We have on going problems with the x-rays. The cost is less than other software system but the expense of extra hours spent trying to correct all the problems we are having is mounting. Also we are getting paid by insurance companies because e-claims are working but e-statement are not so patients are not getting their bills and we are not getting paid.

Reason for choosing Denticon

First because of all the positive reviews I read that I really question at this point. The sales person that we worked with was very good and convincing.

### "Cloud based, easy to use Patient Management, Charting, and Imaging, Billing"

We are able to manage patient information across multiple offices efficiently.

Pros

Cloud based, easy to use Patient Management, Charting, and Imaging, Billing. Integrates with third party app for Imaging.

Cons

### "Most Mature Cloudbased Dental Practice Management Software"

March 16, 2020

5.0

Flexibility, functionality and great customer service. well worth the price.

Pros

It is clear that cloud based SAAS has all the benefits a modern business needs to drive modern operations and good customer experience. While the entire dental software industry is working to push their software into the cloud we found that only Denticon has the maturity and functionality that the followers are still missing. Furthermore, frequent updates and as systematic way to receive user based inputs into the development process ensure for the software to stay in the lead.

Cons

Some limitations around functionality on Mac and iOS, in particular signature capture. Otherwise the software runs just fine on Chrome browsers on any device.

### "Powerful product, excellent customer service"

June 8, 2020

5.0

Accuracy with insurance co-pays and minimization of collections has been our primary objective and this software has helped us tremendously

Pros

Denticon allows a small insurance practice to setup detailed plans and reduce collections burden. It cannot give you any more than you put in but tools are available.

Cons

While updates are frequent, there are some important reports that are missing such as for cleanup of unused plans, details of patients who have not been in the office for a period of time, and mass updates for these .. there are some user interface problems for plan setup but looks like they are actively working on this

Reason for choosing Denticon

Of all the software options we looked at when we purchased, Denticon was the only one for which the costs were clear (as opposed to call us with a quote followed by hard-sell) and with cloud data storage, which is a critical risk management control

### "Denticon user "

May 29, 2019

4.0

I've had Denticon at my practice for 5 years and have been mostly satisfied.

Pros

What I like most about Denticon is that it's cloud based. Since I have two locations I am easily able to log in from anywhere and work. Another great feature are the updates and improvements within the system.

Cons

One of the least favorite features would be the lack of detailed reports. While Denticon has several, there are some reports that could be improved or added. Denticon is not always compatible with other systems including our x-ray system EasyDent, we were under the impression that a bridge would link the two programs but was not so we have to open each program separately. One of our most recent obstacle is Denticon not being compatible with Solution Reach which is a patient relationship management program.

### "denticon for a non-experienced user"

May 27, 2019

5.0

i honestly like denticon but it is second in my heart to dentrix only because tx planning on the mouth chart is a tiny bit easier to do in that aspect. but in denticon i usually tx plan in the tx plan tab not the chart which does make it easier to accomplish i also really like that its easy to plan out the tx plan stages with just clicking and editing. i also like that NP charts are easy to edit when its within families, and ins can just be like transfered over. its an easy to use software if one tames the time to play around with it

Pros

i like that denticon is very laid out (open formatted rather than closed menus) and has options for every menu/chart. im a receptionist and i really like that scheduling is very easy to set up and its effective in communication (the tile meanings) and that even charting (sometimes although rarely I'm called to asst.) is easy to understand pretty quickly

Cons

that sometimes when i copy paste appts. it messes my screen up and i have to do it over. or that like if i wanna filter patient scanned notes it doesnt filter each individual tab (thats like an addtional selection which is fine)

October 23, 2019

5.0

I've always had good experience with Denticon product and staff.

Pros

I have appreciated the breadth of information this software gathers and the ease in asking for information to do analyses. The help staff have been very timely in responding to questions and finding answers for us.

Cons

The software is so comprehensive I feel sometimes I cannot wrap my head around what is included. I purchase this each month but I need to spend concentrated time to teach myself details about a question I have. Maybe being left behind? Or in other words, maybe having a overview video instead of a specific webinar topic available to the dentists who want to do specific analyses. The monthly cost for this software is at the upper limit of my preferred budget amount, but there does not seem to be an equivalent service anywhere that will match performance.

### "Denticon is the ideal solution for both the dental professional, and business owner"

September 15, 2017

5.0

Pros

Extremely robust software, cloud-based (accessible anywhere anytime), has a deep set of tools for providers, administrators, and online tools for patients. Amazing team support, responsive to requests and friendly. We're a fully paperless office, and we couldn't have done it without Denticon. They're continually responding to customer suggestions and adding new features, and the core product meets all of our needs and more. I also like how well integrated they are with other software (imaging, communications, payment processing, insurance billing, etc). Denticon has a Virtual Business Support service that supports pre-authorizations, claims, and other insurance or other needs (for very reasonable prices).

Cons

So robust that it takes a lot of time to learn. Plan for ample training time upfront with office admin and provider team. There's a comprehensive Help portal, and training, but plan to spend time to get a comprehensive understanding of all the software components. But it's worth it....

Pros

First I absolutely love the cloud based software! This helps us save space on site in the office and also it can be accessed from home if taking an emergency phone call. There are so many amazing functions and we keep learning more about how Denticon will improve our day! It's a relief to be paper free and the transition was relatively easy. With all of the new standards that dental offices must follow, it is already HIPAA compliant so that isn't a concern.

Pros

I talk about denticon to every single dentist I meet. Unsolicited advice for sure but I cannot praise it enough. It makes the clinical aspect but more importantly the business aspect so darn easy! I love how easy it is to use and stay on top of our daily weekly and monthly goals

Cons
